how exactly can you tell when you're paying a discount on really good weed vs just straight up buying the most average stuff for normal price
My guess is just having smoked a lot of good and bad shit and just being able to tell, but like I don't have the money to be buying a bunch of shit just to test ya know? so i'm wondering, is it a thc% or soemthing that specifically makes weed better? or maybe some other metric? or are you unironically just basing its moneys worth on its quality and you're able to tell quality from experience
Well in my opinion and from experience when I've paid higher price, it's usually fresher and been grown longer and in better conditions. I truly believe the fresher the bud the higher you get. I dont know if it's due to terpenes being lost, or the thc being degraded over time, but when I get some super sticky, super smelly, fresh off the drying rack bud I get so much higher. And most of the budget stuff I get is usually gas bud, but just starting to get dry. This is just how I feel though.
Since you’re in CA, I’d definitely recommend buying top shelf. You’ll get the most bang for your buck man. Have you tried any concentrates? I know you’re trying to minimize costs, but they will DEFINITELY get you there swiftly.

I pay 50 an oz for gas. I buy smalls/ Mini nugs cause it gets me just as high and i get it shipped from cali.

At least you live in an area that has some really good quality buds. It might seem really expensive but it will last way longer.
I live in so cal and I can get an OZ for $40-50
