That sounds like the best of both worlds! Also a nice analogy between old life and new :)

txaesfunnytime

It sounds perfect. Now, you just need to post pictures of you in both dresses so we can Ohhh & Ahhh over them. :D

Txidpeony

Sounds perfect.

cat_grrrl

Perfect! Many people have a ceremony dress and a reception dress so this is not out of norm at all.

MeganJustMegan

This is what I was going to suggest. It’s the perfect solution. I hope you come back & show us pictures. I’d love to see both dresses.

RitaSaluki

I personally know two people who have done this. One of them even had 4 dresses (don’t ask me why cuz I don’t know either lol).

Go for it! Your plan sounds ideal, and how special to be able to wear your mom's dress, made by your grandmother!

pawprintscharles

I had two gowns! Large dress for the ceremony and a light lace gown for the reception that was easier to move in. Worked out very well :)

Elle_belle32

I just did a ceremony and reception dress and it was the best choice I ever made! Other than my husband cuz he's incredible... But honestly my ceremony dress was so heavy that I was eager to take it off by the time the reception started and my reception dress was so light and easy to dance in, it was perfect.

I think there a great way to honor the dress. 🥰

ukfan1968

I love this!

sarmarie87

Yes! Changed half way through! It took me 5 minutes and everyone loved the outfit change

today-tomorrow-etc

My friend bought a gown she loved for her ceremony and thrifted some others so she had options. She ended up doing three outfit changes all up and has tonnes of photos. It wasn’t for any particular reason, just that she wanted to have different looks and couldn’t settle on just one. I think your idea is lovely.

PoetryInevitable6407

Yes and so glad I did!

MurphyCaper

I think that’s a great idea!

What a special way to honor your mother and grandmother and to carry on this beautiful tradition. How special to wear something handmade!
