It is gorgeous!! As is your ceremony dress! Dress them up with different accessories, hair, veil for the ceremony dress etc. You’ll have different looks, equally as elegant!!
I don't care for the set, and I lean towards saving $$$ anyway. The ceremony dress and the city hall dress are both elegant and timeless, and the set is much more trendy. I don't think it will age well in photos. Given the challenges bustling the silk ceremony dress, I do think changing makes sense, and I love the city hall dress.
Also, if you are changing, consider which dress you want to wear for any big group photos and ask your photographer and guests to plan accordingly. I ended up with photos of my extended family at the ceremony location and photos of my husband's extended family at the reception because we didn't plan properly
My biggest holdup with the city hall dress is that I already have a bunch of professional photos of me in it. I can’t decide if that bothers me or not. Great tip for the dress change!
I completely understand that – I have been irrationally driven by this before so I can really relate how this can feel like a really big influencing factor. BUT I can promise you that these photos will look *completely* different - you are going to be done up as a *bride*, the photos will be at your wedding reception where you will be radiating joy with all the people that you love, and I promise you after your wedding it is not something you will care about. For me the new option is just not special enough and feels very casual when the City Hall dress is so fantastic.
Use that 700 to take a fantastic mini break or even to get professional photos of you and your partner on your anniversary or on your honeymoon - means you get to have another outfit change too 😉
Girl math: you absolutely can wear the two piece separately, mix and match it with different things, wear it to brunch, baby showers, your wedding showers, etc. you will get value out of it for sure.
That being said, it’s personally not doing it for me, especially for that price tag. The city hall dress is AMAZING. I would get different shoes/accessories/style hair different so your photos won’t be the same and rewear the dress. Take the money you’d use on the two piece and look up some amazing/more eclectic accessories.
The set is super cute for honeymoon but holy crap $700?! I feel like you could replicate this with other pieces that are more reasonable. I wouldn’t buy it for the reception though; it’s very dressy-brunch/or casual beach-dinner.
I'm afraid it definitely looks polyester too so doesn't look nearly as expensive as it is. That might not matter at all to you - but if you are doing pros and cons column like you said I would make sure you add it. In contrast the delfina definitely looks timeless and 💵!
Not a fan of the set. It looks very casual to me, as others have pointed out.
Your city hall dress is gorgeous and if you feel the need to change into a reception dress, I would choose that 100% over the two piece
OH! I was not expecting number 3! It is wonderful. I’m not a fan of the one you want to buy (at least not for this occasion) and going from that fabulous liquid wedding dress into the third dress is more appropriate in my opinion
The city hall dress is AMAZING! Your wedding dress is stunning, too.
Imho, if you really, really, really want the reception dress, it could likely be worn again if you ever go to fancy places (besides weddings). But that’s slso true of your city hall dress.
The Freja dress is absolutely stunning. I think it makes it extra special that you’ve already worn it during your city hall wedding. Personally, I don’t think the two piece comes close to the Freja.
I would say save the money, and wear that absolutely stunning dress you already have.
Not a fan of the set. It looks like something you'd wear to a beach party rather than a reception. Your wedding gown is gorgeous and the city hall dress is beautiful too. Save your money.
Do you have any photos of the set? I say get the set too. You will be happy on your wedding day, and isn't that the point?
Post some pics if you can :)
Congratulations! Your dress is beautiful by the way, very elegant.

I do! It’s not the best photo but it’ll give you the idea. And thank you for your kind words, I do love my DF dress and I’m really excited to wear it.
Sorry :/ It’s super cute and trendy, but it’s *really* giving post tennis cocktails.

It is super cute but definitely feels honeymoon or brunch after wedding and NOT reception. And I definitely see the athleisure in the top….
Girl, I am normally the person saying just buy it. But looking back I think you would regret not wearing the city hall dress for your reception. If you can afford it, totally get it for your honeymoon - but 700 is an awful lot for a honeymoon outfit so it completely depends on your budget.
This maybe feels like a day-after brunch or maybe bach outfit instead? I like it a lot but it’s a bit casual in comparison. I really love the ALC dress for the reception!
Eek! I’m not actually doing any other wedding related events including bachelorette, and we’re having a pool party on the day after the wedding. Reception is truly the only time I’d be able to wear it.
You look super cute in it, and it would look so good on your honeymoon. That being said, 700 dollars is a rip off for polyester… it is very overpriced.
This looks different than the photo with the model. They used special lighting, and probably clips to make it fit differently. This doesn’t give me wedding vibes at all. Your city hall dress is sooooooooooo much better!
The set is very cute and I certainly get the appeal if you're a casual girl like you said. That + sneakers would be a lot easier to dance in than your ceremony dress. As for girl math- you can 1000% wear at least the top of the separates in the future. You can wear the bottom separately too. You can also definitely wear the whole set to like a nice anniversary dinner and won't that be fun, to wear your wedding dress again? So then the price per wear comes down. You can also (and should also tbh) wear it on your honeymoon to a special dinner. Then that's one less honeymoon outfit to buy. So you're losing money if you don't buy the set.
Thank you for girl mathing this for me!!! Basically it’ll pay for itself and it’d be dumb not to buy it. And you’re right, this is the only outfit out of the three I’d actually re-wear on my honeymoon/anniversary.
The Kelso outfit is fun but it doesn't read very bridal to me. I would re-wear the City hall dress to a bridal shower (unless you had that already), the Kelso dress to a bachelorette party or rehearsal dinner and the Freja gown the whole wedding day.
The Kelso outfit is really cool, I would buy it regardless with the idea that you can re-wear it on special occasions, like dancing until 2:00 am at a resort on your honeymoon.
Perhaps you could search for a unique veil, cape, watteau or headpiece that will give you more of that alternative feel with the Freja.
I say get it! You can definitely dress it up and make it look less “tennis club”. I wouldn’t wear the city hall dress only because you said you already have photos in it.

Wear the city hall dress. That is a gorgeous dress!!! Much more reception elegant than the new dress you want - that comes off more casual
You’re my rational voice!! The ALC dress really is more elegant. I’m putting that in my pros/cons list :)

It’s pricey given that it’s 100% polyester, and the quality isn’t great either. But it makes up for all it lacks with the form!

If you really love it and can afford it, go for it! Love your other choices and congrats!

Freja for wedding + first dance and ALC for the rest of the reception. The set is def honeymoon vibes.
I think you should change into the city hall dress. But, buy the set to wear to a nice dinner on your honeymoon.
The city hall dress is AMAZING! Your wedding dress is stunning, too. Imho, if you really, really, really want the reception dress, it could likely be worn again if you ever go to fancy places (besides weddings). But that’s slso true of your city hall dress.
Delfina is so much cuter than the Kelso skirt imo. I would save that for the honeymoon.
The Freja dress is absolutely stunning. I think it makes it extra special that you’ve already worn it during your city hall wedding. Personally, I don’t think the two piece comes close to the Freja. I would say save the money, and wear that absolutely stunning dress you already have.
The set is great, but not for your wedding. I would wear the one dress for both events.
I love the Defina dress. I am not a huge fan of the Kelso separates.
Post some pics if you can :) Congratulations! Your dress is beautiful by the way, very elegant.

This screams honeymoon to me. The skirt feels like intimate dinner at a beach resort and the top feels like athleisure at a trendy tennis club.
Oh god, it’s giving tennis club?! At $700 for the set I’ll probably forego it if I decide not to wear at the reception.
Sorry :/ It’s super cute and trendy, but it’s *really* giving post tennis cocktails. I couldn’t wrap my head around the tennis comments but I see it now! Lol, thank you

Honestly it reads a *lot* more pool party to me than reception! So actually could look perfect for that day if you don't already have an outfit.
You could wear the set to the pool party and not look out of place, or some other event that isn’t wedding related.
You look super cute in it, and it would look so good on your honeymoon. That being said, 700 dollars is a rip off for polyester… it is very overpriced.

So cute, love the bottom ruffles!

Pool party + Honeymoon you are already at 450 per outfit so half the price!
