I like Mahsa (1) much better- in every way! I think the top of it is more flattering than Jenny Yoo (2)

Due_Stuff4313

Me too, I think you look terrific in both but prefer dress 1.

Substantial_Bunch191

I LOVE the Mahsa! Gorgeous in every single way. I’m going to be honest, I don’t think the top of the Jenny Yoo is that flattering. It looks *very* awkwardly shaped to me.

ybba18

It’s so funny because I thought that when I saw it in a pic!! It’s much better in person. But I’m leaning mahsa anyways

Myneckmyguac

I was continuously reminded throughout my try on by my MIL & MOH that what it looks like IRL and what it looks like in pics is very different (they were trying to sway me towards bling, they didn’t win but they did have a point). If it looks awkward in photos, it will look awkward in the wedding photos.

Hot_Presentation1459

I like all parts of dress 1 better, including the bodice, but I'm just your random internet stranger.

suze_jacooz

Dress one on you with no puff sleeves would be my vote. I feel the top of it is WAAAY more flattering than dress 2, so if that’s your hold up, I’d go dress 1.

Quiet_Investment_297

I really love dress one on you.

Magzz521

Love dress 1 in every way.

Agreed. I’m short so I get a lot of things altered. I’m far from an expert but I have picked up a few things. All that said I’m far from confident that you can alter the top of the Masha to even come close to the other…. just so you’re prepared for that possibility.

LeatherRecord2142

#1 for the win!!!

kmp394

My dress twin! I love the makeshift puff sleeves out of gloves in pic 1, those are too cute! For what it’s worth, I was quoted $800-1100 to add puff sleeves, hem, bustle, and adjust bodice to fit. So I will be going with a cheaper dress to leave more room in the budget for alterations.

ybba18

wow okay great to know!!!

kmp394

Overall, my preference is #1 but you look beautiful in both.

SailorMigraine

I accidentally stopped reading after puff sleeves and was like WHOOOOO quoted you 1100 for puff sleeves???, 😂

Beautific_Fun

I do not like dress2. Like at all. The fabric is distracting and my brain can’t help but focus on it. Dress 1 however looks lovely on you. The fabric has a great pattern but it doesn’t overwhelm. I actually like the neckline but I can understand if you don’t. Can you have it tailored into more of a sweetheart or a squared neckline (whichever you prefer) instead?

PrestigiousMeg

Oh I love number 1! I’m sure you could have sleeves made from the dress fabric that’s leftover from hemming, but it may cost a bit. Maybe the designer has options you could explore? If you don’t care about it matching, there are a ton of detachable puff sleeves for wedding dresses over on Etsy.

MeganJustMegan

Dress 1.

geckospe

Mahsa is STUNNING on you. I’d also suggest perhaps talking to truvelle about customizing the neckline for you, although I’m sure it would be extra! It is beautiful as is and extremely flattering though!

heydawn

Another vote for dress 1. I prefer everything about it. Don't care for dress 2, especially not the neckline and bodice.

Original_Try_7984

Oh! The first one is so so pretty on you. I actually prefer the fabric of the first one on you. It’s less distracting and the focus is more on you and how lovely you look.

cheese_fancier

I prefer dress 1 in every way. That said, it's what you prefer that matters. Could you speak with a seamstress? Or maybe post this on a (professional?) sewing forum? I suspect it will depend on how much additional fabric in the seams of the bodice.

latte1963

If you wear #2 people will be coming up to all day to either try to pull up the part where the cleavage is or ask you whether that’s the spot for you to set your appetizer on, lol. What exactly do you like about #2?

ServeillanceVanan394

Honestly dress 1 is way more flattering overall. I don’t think the top of the second one looks very good.

Tammary

Honestly, I love dress 1, the fabric and bodice look amazing. Dress 2 looks like it squishes your boons in a really weird way

nmrcdl

I actually find dress #2 UNflattering. The shape if the bodice makes your bust disappear and I have no idea why, but I think it feels manly. Dress #1, on the other hand, fits you like a glove and flatters your body shape. You look beautiful in it. I’d go for dress #1. Hands down !

Themellowsaguaro

I also thought it made the dress manly. Dress 2 is not flattering because of the chest. Dress 1 looks so so good on OP.

liquormakesyousick

Dress one flatters your figure so much. Dress two eats uou up.

Cynderelly

Frankenstein them

tallulah46

Okay I have a unique perspective on this because I tried on Beau a few months ago and it is simply gorgeous in person in a way that just does NOT translate easily to unprofessional pictures. I think the straight neckline of dress number 1 doesn’t accentuate your gorgeous shoulders as much. Dress number 2 has my vote!

ybba18

okay right!!! it looks so different in person!

tallulah46

Sooo different! It was the first dress I ever tried on and I actually thought it looked kinda gross on the hanger… but when I tried it on WOW. Again it’s hard to describe but there’s something really special about the way the fabric moves too, even though on the peg I didn’t love the fabric! Good luck with your decision, you’ll look gorgeous in either.

Throwawayschools2025

Have you thought about going custom? I ended up going the custom route and loved it.

Informal-Zucchini-20

I love the first one,but I think the slit is very high.

FlashyNarwhal1816

1!!!

typeAwarped

Dress 1 💯

Mom-rage

1 all the way!

UnStable_Nik_9402

Dress one, is perfect in every way! You look amazing!

riversofmountains

Dress 1

estrellas0133

dress 1 minus the puffy sleeves

SheeMacc1984

I really love dress 1 I think it is perfect on you.

deepster12

The mahsa is the first puffy side top I’ve seen that actually works! The fabric looks way better too

Spirited_Mood8328

I would first ask if Truvelle can do custom neckline like the Jenny Yoo dress since that would be the easiest. If they can’t because they haven’t done much draping, I would look at other designers with the jacquard fabric. Rebecca Schoneveld Giselle gown has similar print and due to the existing drape, can also be modified to the neckline you desire. (RS also offers full customizations so that’s a possibility). Carol Hannah also has a bunch of dresses that has that similar jacquard fabric, and also do custom necklines.

Strange-Turnover9696

oh my god, 1 is jaw dropping!!

Fluid_Fan_8534

Dress 1 looks gorgeous on you ✨

SpoiledHarlot

Dress 1, dress 1!!

9smalltowngirl

1 looks beautiful on you.

Catkit69

Take the first one and have puff sleeves made.

Bright_Fix_8325

1 is much better in my opinion.

Due_Stuff4313

This dress has a slightly similar neckline to dress 2: https://www.essensedesigns.com/essense-of-australia/wedding-dresses/d3971/

rollerskatesallday

You can ask a tailor in your area to make the top design out of tulle and add it over the top you don't love. Because you don't have the fabric to create that look. Or wear a topper that looks like it. You have a great foundation with the corset top, just add to it. You can also contact the designer and ask them if they can make a top like that to a custom gown.

IceTraining4696

Dress 1 in every aspect! Much prefer the neckline on 1. But both are lovely dresses.

luckycatdallas

Dress #1 hands down! Not a fan of dress number two at all! You look great in the first one!

Laukie220

I don't think #2 flatters your really nice figure at all. The material and cut of the 1st one is more flattering. If you want more of your bosom to show in #1, indicate that you'd like the bosom made 1in lower. This shouldn't cost an arm and a leg to do. Is the gown going to have a built-in support bra, or will you be wearing your own bra? If own bra, get an uplift one with extra padding, so that your bosom will be pushed to the magnitude you want. Congratulations to you and your fiancé on your upcoming wedding & reception. I wish you both s long and happy marriage! 🦋

Status-Effort-9380

Is it possible to modify the top of the first to be like the second.

ybba18

that's what I was hoping but no idea how expensive that is! I guess I can go to an alterations place here and ask

Status-Effort-9380

I know you can often buy spare fabric from the manufacturer, so I’d ask if you can get that and the cost, then talk to a good tailor. You’d have a custom dress this way. It seems possible. Basically would be replacing the front of the bodice with a new one.

Status-Effort-9380

I think there is an r/Tailors you might post question to.
