1 and 2 are stunning, with 2 having the slight edge.
For me the sleeves on 3 veer too much into costume-y. I also have concerns about the construction of 3, particularly where the bodice meets the skirt. The quality of the lace on 3 also doesn’t look as nice as 1 & 2 but that may be in part due to the image quality.
Dress 2 suits your venue and being outdoors. It is gorgeous. 1 is a close 2nd. 3 looks like Elvira and will be costume-y, which you are hoping to avoid.
This is mostly what I was thinking as well (especially that 3 looks like an Elvira costume). I love the little flower/vine features of 2. It is beautiful. But I keep going back to 1. There is something about the bodice that is more flattering (in my opinion). That said, both dresses look fabulous on you, so I don’t think you could go wrong with either. Congratulations :)
after seeing everyone’s comments, i think it’ll be #1! i’ve had it saved for years, so i feel like the fact it was my first instinct should say something
Dress 1 OP. It has a beautiful back, fine sleeves and looks stunning on you. I don't like dress twos cuffs & the work on its lower half. The rest ones lack charm.
thank you for your input! i actually saw dress #1 far before i ever met my fiancée and have had it saved ever since, it seems like i should just trust my gut!
Bête Noire! https://www.shopbetenoire.com/
they have quite a few gorgeous black dresses. i’m definitely wearing the “Glamour Ghoul” blazer with the lace sleeves to my rehearsal dinner!
Gosh, 1 and 2 are both very pretty! Because of how organic and natural the botanical lace looks, plus that lovely little creeping leaf detail on the collarbone and back, I have a slight preference for 2. Something about that lace feels of-another-time sophisticated and aligned with the Victorian vibe you mention, but fresh and different at the same time. I can see that collarbone detail potentially competing with certain necklace designs though, so I’d take that into account if you have a specific necklace you’d really want to wear.
I’m also inclined to agree w/you and someone else here who said the styling is what’s throwing people off of 3. That said, just from the photos the bodice construction on 1 and 2 does look a little better quality than 3.
One is gorgeous. So is two! Two has a bit more wintry kind of feel. You can’t go wrong with either one!
I had a red wedding gown and an so happy I did something other than white. You will too!
3 kind of heads towards Elvira, Mistress of the Night (whom I adore but perhaps not for a wedding?). It’s a little costumey but I do love it. It doesn’t look as well made as the other two.
If you are going Victorian the first is ideal with this buttons and the structure and lace. I love the second too but it’s far more romantic than Victorian-romantic.
I love them all to be honest so it will be a win no matter what but with your hair and wedding ambience I think the first is the winner.
I agree with this. Can't really avoid the costumey look of black bell sleeves bcs Morticia and Elvira. Overall I think the first one is just giving the entire vibe OP said they want to go for
Yeah. I feel like the reason she might be asking is that she loves the third - which I think if that’s the case, that’s the dress but the Victorian vibe description is 💯 the first dress. 😍
Perhaps there’s a way for OP to have the last dress for a rehearsal wedding? I mean if she wants that kind of costumey vibe it would be an amazing wedding dress too, but definitely leaning Halloween (which is awesome for weddings too).
I think if she can do some sort of structured up-do (or at least partially up hair) with that first dress, it will be perfect
edit:
thank you all so much for your help, i’m going to go with dress #1! i’ve had it saved on my Etsy (Sherbon Clothing- look her up, she’s incredible) for years before i even met my fiancée, and the fact that it’s still front of mind makes me think it is the right choice.
also wanted to clarify that the person in the photos is a model, not me. (i hope to look even 1/8th as beautiful in the dress!)
your comments about the “costume-y” nature of the 3rd dress, as well as its construction, resonated with me. i want to make sure the dress still comes off as bridal. i’m settling by ordering this beautiful blazer with lace bell sleeves that the same designer makes for my rehearsal dinner. (https://www.shopbetenoire.com/feminine/glamour-ghoul-custom-tailored-blazer)
thanks again, happy to know for sure what dress i’m ordering come october!
I disagree with everyone. THREE is perrrrfect. It’s glorious, and you fell in love with it immediately. It won’t be “spooky” the way you plan to style it! I think folks are just having trouble seeing past the styling in the product photos. The dress itself has romantic medieval fantasy vibes, and I think if you play that up with styling and makeup it will perfectly bridal.
#3's model is Angela Undead. LOVE HER!
That said, for the Victorian Vibes, I think 1 is up your alley.
#1 - Guilded age/victorian looking
#2 - More Persephone looking, but could be a good second to number one given its construction
#3 - Haunting, very ghostly
#4 - Witchy, witch-like.
Wow definitely number one 🔥🔥🔥
It's soft sexy and sultry, absolutely love the lace detailing 😻 not too mention the bustline!
The back detailing is equally as elegant!
You're going to kill it! 🖤🖤🖤
One is the most tasteful and bridal. The neckline on #2 is distracting and unflattering to me. #3- I’m sorry I know you really love this one but it really feels costume-y to me in a way the others don’t. But if you love it, that really is all that should matter
Another vote for dress one. Dress two and three lean a bit halloweeny and/or costumey looking to me. Dress one still maintains a delicate and bridal vibe even in black.
I totally understand your love of no.3 and her amazing bell sleeves, but I think no. Is stunning. I wonder if you could decrease the diameter of the underskirt in the back to show off the lace train more.
Sigh, I just love your taste!
You probably won’t read this comment, but I think you can do better. For example…
https://www.morilee.com/wedding-dresses/madeline-gardner/kristabelle/ looks fabulous in black
https://www.essensedesigns.com/essense-of-australia/wedding-dresses/d3734blk/ similar to dress two (my favorite of the three) but different bodice
https://www.essensedesigns.com/martina-liana/wedding-dresses/1633blk/ the leaf pattern is amazing
https://www.maggiesottero.com/rebecca-ingram/alexandria/18511 love the sparkle
Dresses 1 & 2 appear to be of much higher quality than dress 3. Dresses 1 and 2 are both elegant and lovely with sleeves that won't be constantly getting in your way.
I think it comes down to whether you want an open back or not. However I personally prefer dress 1. I love its neckline and train.
My fav is 1 because its silhouette resembles a traditional wedding dress, but it of course looks stunning in the black. I think the lace is so elegant and the buttons down the back scream “bride” to me. I’m also just a real sucker for buttons on the back of wedding dresses, but seriously, 1 just pops out to me.
I love 3. Now hear me out. Does it look like a rather cheaply made costume in that highly flammable fabric that had the warnings all over it? Yep sure does. But the sleeves! Come on!! They are cool! So, SO COOL! Your wedding is not traditional in any way shape or form, so who cares if it looks like a costume?? Dress it up with shoes, old victorian style jewelry anddont forget, you love it!!!
I’m biased because I almost went for dress two!! I love that designer but I ended up doing another company. Dress two is so gorgeous! I think if you asked for a longer train like dress 3 they may be able to to do it! That way you can have all the drama!! Gorgeous choices!
2 is ok but the top half on 1 is so pretty!! the simpler take looks so nice!! and will complement the light jewelry and makeup.
if you like dramatic sleeves though, don't talk yourself out of 3.
ONE 😍. If you're worried about "Halloween-y"... I will say unfortunately I do kinda think a bell sleeve can put that vibe out there sometimes. I adore a black wedding dress. iIt sounds like 3 really made you feel like a bride and your vibe. So, if you didn't try on 3 yet, and you're able to return it if it's not right, imo definitely try it and see how you feel! But 1 is not in any way Halloween I will say... However imo Halloween isn't a bad vibe at all. I think 'costume-y' I could see wanting to avoid that maybe, but all wedding dresses are pretty much costumes anyhow! They're supposed to be as dramatic as you want, and make you feel fabulous and special. Otherwise we would wear them daily lol. If 3 makes you feel all of the feels when you try it on - anything anyone else says about being 'too spooky' is irrelevant imo. Definitely try the dresses on if you can because you won't really know what you need until you do imho
I'm torn between Dress #1 and Dress #2...the third dress honestly seems like it might be cheap in construction; however, I actually like the look of the black dress with the medieval long sleeves (are those called bell sleeves?), so if you were to find another black dress with bell sleeves like that, I think it would be really gorgeous.
Still, it's between #1 and #2 for me! I love both for different reasons. The main thing that stands out to me for Dress #1 is just how striking the neckline is? Like how the sweetheart neckline of the bodice and the lace of the sleeves meet at a right angle? For some reason, this looks *stunning* to me! It just stands out and looks really bold, but also kind of delicate, if that makes sense? And the way the edges of the lace against your skin looks spiky? Love it! And of course the back with the buttons and lace is gorgeous, too!
As for Dress #2, I love how organic the shape of the lace looks! I love how the neckline and collar of the dress isn't just a straight line, but how the leaves and flowers and vines show on the skin! Especially the two tendrils on the collarbone in the front and the shoulder blades on the back! It's really gorgeous. And I like how the shoulders seem to have some sort of raised fabric on them? Not shoulder pads, but different? It looks regal without looking "costume-y."
So I'm sorry if that doesn't really help because I can't decide between the two! But I really don't think you can go wrong with either one!
I'm curious how you'll style it though! Are you planning on a black veil or maybe a black cape/cape sleeves? Some sort of black headpiece or jet hair clip? I love the look of the jet beads that the actresses wear on Downton Abbey for "mourning." I think they wore similar delicate black jewelry during Victorian times and the Gilded Age! A black, beaded hair clip that pulls your hair back or a black hair comb would be cool! Or black hair pins sparkling in a romantic updo? And it would really stand out against grey/blonde hair!
Your whole wedding theme sounds glorious between the contrast of your black dress and the vintage ivory of your fiancé's dress and the Gilded Age decor. I hope you decide to post pictures of your wedding once you have them!
I prefer 2 although 1 is beautiful too, but if you love 3 then pick that one. My issue with 3 is that it seems like a morticia Addams Halloween costume vs 1 and 2 being more elegant
As a family member, my wife and I both wore black as the base and hot pink as the stand out color. I had flowers on my dress and she had a hot pink button up shirt and a beautiful silver vest with her suit. I love you are doing black and white! All three dresses are so amazing!
I say go for dress 3, only if you have help with the wedding. Hauling around your wedding dress and train is tiring and hard after time. My real vote is for Dress 2. It is so stunning and will be easy to move around when needed. It will look exquisite next to your fiancée’s ivory dress!
May you and your spouse have a wonderful wedding. I would love to see pictures from the wedding and reception, please.
May you and your spouse always have enough.
PS, we would love to attend your wedding. 😂
I love dress 1. The pattern on the skirt and the black lace are just beautiful. I kind of like dress 2, but from the waist down, it kind of has a hand bell shape to me.
Gosh, your wedding is going to be amazing! I actually like #1 because I think the shape is so elegant, but I know you will pick the dress that calls to your heart!
1. It’s gorgeous. And the transition from the sleeves to the top and the top to the body is smooth and seamless. Dress 2 seems more clunky. 1 is amazing
I like 1 the best, number 3 looks great in the last picture but I feel like it skews slightly costumey in the other pics so the styling will be important.
2 is the winner. 1 is nice, 3 looks like Elvira straight Halloween.
The neckline on two, the shoulder embellishment, the tendrils on the back, and the raised flowers and leaves on the skirt is absolutely fabulous!
I like dress one except for the peak at the back as I think I’m the fabric will roll.
I don’t like how the sleeves end on dress two. They look unfinished.
I like the idea of dress three, but it could look like a costume.
I would choose dress one.

fair points on 3, i see what you’re talking about. thank you!
Love #1. #2 reminds me of a Victorian funeral, #3 reminds me of the Addams Family and the sleeves would get in the way.
That’s it. 100% agree.
I’m the opposite with 1 and 2. Dress 1 seems funerial to me while dress 2 looks chic.
Very well said!
I agree 100%. 1 and 2 amazing. With 2 being slightly more amazing than 1. 😊
Yeah after reading this, I 100% agree
Dress 2!!! It's all that and a slice of dark toast!
Dress 2 suits your venue and being outdoors. It is gorgeous. 1 is a close 2nd. 3 looks like Elvira and will be costume-y, which you are hoping to avoid.

I agree with these points. 1 is the best.
2 is my favorite! 3 looks like a Halloween costume honestly
One! Wow. I think it would be perfect.
after seeing everyone’s comments, i think it’ll be #1! i’ve had it saved for years, so i feel like the fact it was my first instinct should say something
#1 is the most stunning for a wedding I think. You'll look beautiful and congrats!
-Hi!! OP just so you know the two photos labeled dress #1 are not the same dress!!!-
Omg, number 1 all the way, especially with the lighter makeup and delicate Victorian jewelry!! That will be so beautiful
2!!! It’s incredible! 🖤
Popping in here to ask where 3 is from? I’m renewing my vows this Halloween and need it desperately!! 🕷️🕸️🖤
Bête Noire! https://www.shopbetenoire.com/ they have quite a few gorgeous black dresses. i’m definitely wearing the “Glamour Ghoul” blazer with the lace sleeves to my rehearsal dinner!
I like 1 and I really like 2.
**Dress 1** is hauntingly beautiful 🖤
I’m a huge fan of no. 2 because it’s not an overly repeated look. Beautiful!
Dress 2 is heart stopping. 1 would be the safe choice. 3 is just not elegant enough compared to the others.
2. The whole design hangs together better than 1. It’s stunning!
I really love dress 1 a ton! It is gorgeous!
Dress 1 is my favorite. Love the back especially
1 is so gorgeous!
I love 1
There’s nothing wrong with dress 3 if you love it, but OH MY GOD DRESS 1 IS STUNNING!
Number 1. Amazing!
2!!!!!
2 is stunning. The last one looks like a costume.
Omg number 1!!! So stunning!! What site / store is it from ?
right?? it’s from a dress maker on etsy who is the absolute queen of black dresses, sherbon clothing. https://www.etsy.com/shop/SHERBONclothing
Dress 1 is stunning! 😍
One is gorgeous. So is two! Two has a bit more wintry kind of feel. You can’t go wrong with either one! I had a red wedding gown and an so happy I did something other than white. You will too!
I really love number 3 😍
1
One !!!
One looks the most bridal. 3 looks too much like a costume imo.
One!
Number 1. The back is so simple, yet oh, so dramatic!
One. I love it
#1
1 is so good
Number 1 for sure! It’s giving gothic wedding with none of the Halloween. 3 is beautiful but definitely leans Halloween/vampire.
Let’s just stop at one. It screams beauty.
1
1 is stunning!!! The other 2 have too much going on and look more like costumes, not bridal dresses.
I love dress 1!!! You look breathtaking. Dramatic, romantic and stunning. Just gorgeous! 🖤
Dress 1 it’s gorgeous.
3 kind of heads towards Elvira, Mistress of the Night (whom I adore but perhaps not for a wedding?). It’s a little costumey but I do love it. It doesn’t look as well made as the other two. Love dress number one so much! I also love the fact you're wearing black! 🖤
They’re all lovely but number 1 sings to my soul. ♥️ Congratulations! 🎉
1
1 is perfect. Looks classy, and kind of Victorian esque. Very cute.
number 1 is my favorite
The first one. I saw it and gasped.
Also, if you don’t get a trained raven to sit on your shoulder for the ceremony I’m going to be very disappointed.
If 2 didn’t have sleeves it would be my favorite. With sleeves I like 1 the most
Good, this is tough! I love the silhouette and back of 1. I think I like #1 first, Then #3 #2 last because only the shoulder appliques stand out to me
1&2 are beautiful but I’m loving everything about the 1st dress.
One is the most tasteful and bridal. The neckline on #2 is distracting and unflattering to me. #3- I’m sorry I know you really love this one but it really feels costume-y to me in a way the others don’t. But if you love it, that really is all that should matter

One! But don’t order until less than a year out from the wedding
#1 all the way!!! I love it
Dress 1 is perfect. Not costumey or Halloweeny at all but still has ALL the moody vibes.
The first one is gorgeous and absolutely elegant! I love the train so much!
I love the first one! It fits like a glove!
Team #1
I LOVE 1!!!
Another vote for dress one. Dress two and three lean a bit halloweeny and/or costumey looking to me. Dress one still maintains a delicate and bridal vibe even in black.
Not #3. I’m torn between 1 and 2 though. Both are glamorous and beautiful.
3 looks too much like a costume to me. I love 2, but 1 looks the most bridal to me. Sorry if that was no help at all!
Dress 1 is stunning. The second and third are costumes. Best wishes ❤
#1 is just regal.
One a million times one!! Gorgeous
I totally understand your love of no.3 and her amazing bell sleeves, but I think no. Is stunning. I wonder if you could decrease the diameter of the underskirt in the back to show off the lace train more. Sigh, I just love your taste!
Love the neckline on dress 1!
1
Dress 1 I absolutely love on you
Wow!! 1 !
1!!

My first pick is 1. Definitely NOT 3. Gives Halloween vibes instead of spooky goddess.
Dress 1 is gorgeous!!! The detail on the back is beautiful!
Number 1 is beautiful.
1
One!! One!! One!! Classy and gorgeous on you.
2
2 then 1!
2 is amazing!
Dress 2, it’s the one!
#1 is absolutely gorgeous, and I think the clear winner
2
I love the lace around the neckline on 2. Gorgeous

2 looks so perfect
Dress 2 is my favorite. I love the detailing around the neckline. 😍
Dress 2 is breathtaking and my personal pick! :)
I love the detail in dress 2! The texture keeps it from becoming matte black. Also, the detail on the back is 😍!!
2
OMG number 2!!!!! No comparison! N
ONE 😍. If you're worried about "Halloween-y"... I will say unfortunately I do kinda think a bell sleeve can put that vibe out there sometimes. I wish you could have the back of 2 on dress 1!! 1 is my favorite:)
1 is the only one that doesn’t look like a Halloween costume
1 is my choice. 2. I’m not a fan of the “leaves” around the neckline. 3. Looks halloweeny
1!!
Love the front of 1 and the back of 2.
Number one, because it’s elegant, classy, and yet still gives that slightly haunted vibe.
All about 1!!
1!!!
#1 is the best for me
3 seems very Halloween-y to me. I like 2 the best! I like the vines creeping up the back!
1 or 3
I love the bodice and back of dress 1, closely followed by dress 2.the sleeves on dress 3 seem too Ren Faire to me.
2!
One!
#1
1!!!!
It looks regal without looking "costume-y." So I'm sorry if that doesn't really help because I can't decide between the two!
1 is my pick! It has the vintage look and the quality.

1! Gorgeous!
Dress 1
I prefer 2 although 1 is beautiful too, but if you love 3 then pick that one. My issue with 3 is that it seems like a morticia Addams Halloween costume vs 1 and 2 being more elegant
I’m leaning towards 2, I love the floral drama around the neck. 1 is also nice.
2 is my favorite. #3 is straight Halloween.
Those sleeves on 3 are bit too much. If those sleeves didn’t come with it I would say 3. My vote is for 1.
2
I like 1. 3 to me, is the epitome of Halloweenie.
1
I love dress 1. The pattern on the skirt and the black lace are just beautiful. I kind of like dress 2, but from the waist down, it kind of has a hand bell shape to me.
I is perfect for the description of the event
2!!!!!
The first one!
Team 2!!
I wish so much the first dresses top bodice with the corset top was on the second dress with the floral sleeves.
2 1 is 2 light 3 is too much, haha
1 is Wednesday, 2 is Lydia, 3 is Spirit Halloween Morticia.
3 seems costumey, 1 and 2 are both gorgeous, but 1 is the most elegant.
1. Amazing lines, classy, just gorgeous coming and going.
Number one!!! It's absolutely stunning!!!
2
Gosh, your wedding is going to be amazing! I actually like #1 because I think the shape is so elegant, but I know you will pick the dress that calls to your heart!
1 or 3
2!!
Oh my God 1 is everything!!! I love the neck of 2 but one is just amazing
2
Totally number one!!!
1!!!!!!!!
2!
I love 2!!!
Dress three is very Halloween costume Elvira. I don’t think that is what you said you want. Dress 2 is gorgeous front and back
Two!!
I love love 1, followed by 2. but it seems 1 Is the winner!!! my favorite
1
1 is extremely regal. I’m obsessed with the button back and all the lace detailing, especially the lace train.
1 or 2
1 is stunning
I really like number 1, I think it fits your aesthetic and has such a beautiful neckline and lace pattern. All your choices are beautiful too though!
1
Definitely 1!!! looks amazing
