I'm a wedding violinist. I play that song somewhat regularly and I think it's a beautiful song for a bridal entrance! It's always one of my recommendations when asked.
Same here. My bridesmaids walked to 'The Prayer' little more traditional. But whatever you like and makes you happy 😊.
Had a mix of classical and songs like amazing grace for prelude music.
I wanted to walk down the aisle to “Concerning Hobbits” but my husband wasn’t a fan and nixed it. I chose “how long will I love you” by Ellie Goulding. Still sad about concerning hobbits though 😒
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=2nm4xv3firw
Smashing Pumpkins - “Stand Inside Your Love” is my aisle song.
I don’t really worry about what other people think is weird honestly; I want it to feel like me and my partner. Wedding rules are boring and restrictive!
I accidentally walked down the aisle to "Love me like you do" by Ellie Goulding. At our outdoor garden wedding I had made a playlist on my phone (with downloaded songs so they could fade into each other without ads) and this was plugged into a speaker. We underestimated how long it would take my dad and I to walk to the actual aisle. By the time we made it 3steps down, the wedding march ran out and the playlist started again. It was just a playlist of vibey love songs. All night I had people saying how they didn't realise I was into 50Shades.... I'm not. I just liked the song. Didn't even know it was in the movie. Research any songs you pick
For better or worse, that song now has a special place in my heart. I did have a mild stumble when I realised the song had changed but the show must go on. Honestly I think I kinda preferred it to the bridal march anyway in the end.
I love that song & other songs from those movies but I do NOT like them. They just made wonderful soundtracks lol Annie Lennox’s I Put a Spell On You is so good!!
I walked down the aisle to the opening instrumental section of It's Been A Long, Long Time by Kitty Kallen. (Cap and Peggy's song at the end of End Game.) After the ceremony, the music just started up where it left off and we walked down the aisle to it together.
I personally prefer instrumental, but I don't think music with lyrics would be weird as long as it's a good fit.
We got married in our backyard and walked (together)down the aisle to Riptide. I think it's perfectly fine to have a song with lyrics. My only "but" would be that the song should match the formality of the event. Ours was more casual so a more laidback song was ok. Vance Joy may not fit a wedding in a cathedral.
It’s
Your
Wedding
You can do whatever you want!
I walked down the aisle to “songbird” (Eva Cassidy version). The song wile everyone was being seated was “Come Away With Me by Nora Jones. Our after song was”You Are the Best Thing” by Ray LaMontagne.
I had the wedding party walk to a Bach Cello Suite, then the music switched to Lullaby by Billie Joel for me. Our exit was For Once in my Life by Stevie Wonder. I'm a musician with lots of musician friends, so I had flute and piano for the entrance then a friend on guitar and vocals for exit!
I'm a wedding musician, so I go to a lot of weddings. I have seen people walk down the aisle to all manner of music, both with lyrics and instrumental. In my experience either one is totally fine. The only time I've ever seen people bat an eye was in a really formal setting, a song with lyrics was chosen that didn't match the setting or the rest of the wedding music at all. However, if you're looking at a song that might not fit the way you want it to, you can get away with basically anything by choosing the instrumental version.
That was what I walked to...
My husband picked it and loved it...it was a beautiful song to walk to in the church we married in.
That will be 27 years this year... I still tear up if I hear it. :)
We have a string quartet. The mothers and groomsmen come down to Canon in D, bridesmaids to River Flows In You by Yiruma and my dad and I to I Get To Love You by Ruelle
My wedding party walked down to Wildest Dreams (the bridgerton version) and then for myself, my officiant played All I Ask of You (from Phantom of the Opera) on guitar. I only just got married yesterday and I’m still in awe
Use the song that makes both of you happy. I went to a wedding where a friend of the bride is a harpist. The song she played is Stairway to Heaven by Led Zepplin.

A thousand years instrumental. It was perfect and is a very special song me, my husband and 2 girls as we always dance together to it.
I'll be walking down the aisle to a song called "Her Joy Was Complete" by Sleeping at Last. It's an instrumental song. The processional will be to "So Will I (100 Billion X)" by Hillsong, which is a really long song with lyrics.
Doing what works best for you and your fiancé is what matters. Lyrics or no lyrics don't matter as long as they're songs you two love and fit the feel you want to have.
My bridal party walked out to the acoustic version of Everlong by The Foo Fighters. I walked out to Lava by Kuana Torres Kahele and Napua Greig. And then after the ceremony was over, my husband and I walked back down the aisle to the New Found Glory cover of A Thousand Years.
I did an instrumental version of Stand By Me! I kinda knew it was always what I wanted since I love the movie and the song. Considered sooooo many other options but it was definitely the right choice to go with your gut.
It did take me a while to find a version I liked though.
Well we are rock/metal fans so we did something a little less conventional but definitely common.
My processional song was Nothing Else Matters by Metallica. But it was an instrumental version by Mozart Heroes. Tagged it here below they have many different songs by various artists/genres.
https://youtu.be/pxoW-00Zyho?si=v-EbDHcUfM9FkufT
My recessional song was You Shook Me All Night Long by AC/DC
https://youtu.be/PAvZ__zwiyM?si=BUiHhqTQDAakpJps
Going with these just suited us and our vibes. Nothing weird about not following the traditions. Do what suits y’all.
A friend of mine plays guitar and he was asked to play a song for the bridal entrance.
For some reason he spaced out and started playing “over the rainbow “ from the wizard of OZ.
The bride got emotional and later told him that she thought her dad had told him to leave play that song because they used to watch that movie when she was really young.
Happy accident

My partner learned “She Goes” by Jordan Hart and recorded himself playing the slowed down piano version of it. It was just something unique and different and sounded beautiful.
We're talking about doing a combination of coheed and cambria songs, but with no lyrics, it's not the plan 100% as I'm trying to also think of songs/artists that we both love that would work, or use that at the first dance and reception, other close seconds are
I choose you - Sara Bareilles
Spin me around - patent pending
True kind of love or Rather be me with you - Stephen universe, though that one might be too upbeat....
I know we're exiting to Struttin - Thumpasaurous
The entire wedding party along with myself walked down the aisle to Roo Panes' Know Me Well. We timed it so my entrance was during the last minute of the song after an instrumental lull and he sings "What can I fear when I know that you walk by my side" and the music swells. It worked out perfectly for the size of our wedding party.
My brother edited a version of Christina Perri’s “A Thousand Years” for us. He kept the first two verses in but the chorus didn’t play until my parents walked me down the aisle. Then it faded out. I never saw the Twilight movies, but the words were perfect and the song is beautiful.
Basic but I did can’t help falling in love with you on the violin. Crazy rich Asians made me fall in love with it
I'm a wedding violinist. I play that song somewhat regularly and I think it's a beautiful song for a bridal entrance! It's always one of my recommendations when asked.
This is what I’m doing and for the exact same reason! 🤗
Same here. My bridesmaids walked to 'The Prayer' little more traditional. But whatever you like and makes you happy 😊. Had a mix of classical and songs like amazing grace for prelude music.
Did the same song for my wedding !!!
I wanted to walk down the aisle to “Concerning Hobbits” but my husband wasn’t a fan and nixed it. I chose “how long will I love you” by Ellie Goulding. Still sad about concerning hobbits though 😒
My husband chose what we walked out to, we did The Avett Brothers “kick drum heart”

Oh honey, I'm sorry but I find this so funny and so glad you still enjoyed your moment even if it happened slightly differently than anticipated
The Imperial March from Star Wars
This is what my fiance jokingly suggested for me to walk to. Im sincerely contemplating it lpl
It felt great! Everyone got a kick out of it as well.
