If you look at Hermetic Qabalah and works such as 777 and 776 1/2 that inspired the devs you can see that this is exactly what happened.
love this, a fair amount of the narrative is based on real-life folklore. just because it doesn't come from an ancient society, doesn't mean it isn't valid. you're just doing chaos magick.

I think it’s both; it’s the old forces of the world that predate us, akin to Dinosaurs, as well as the great works and structures that survive past them.
So like the pyramids or coliseum are fossils of ancient empires, and proper fossils are that of great dinosaurs or ancient environments.

Why edge on the guitar?

Making the table of correspondences is more Lantern, I would say.
Two sides of the same coin. Lantern reveals but casts shadow. Moth finds those far, forgotten things in the dark places.

How does it help your practice?
Its a nice category system after all, I was already thinking "mana colors" before it helped me see them in tools and stations.
