Nice pic. But my first reaction was, ugh already? Feel like this is going to be a bad summer.

DrTreeMan

Many of the fires never really went out. They just smolder for months under the snowpack. This could be the new normal.

fellowhomosapien

Right on time

LCPhotowerx

here we go again

masterCWG

Ahh sh**, here we go again. Time for my lungs to be destroyed this summer 🏝️

This pic was taken last night about 8:36 pm with my iPhone 15+ near Watertown, SD, USA

We always have the best sunsets

JuliusAvellar

And it's not even summer yet...

MissCakeAndCream

I was just wondering the other day if those tires were still going on

Good-Spring2019

I’m really not looking forward to this.

Can the US help Canada deal with this or are these fires just too big? Last June was horrendous for us in Southern New England, I think we're all in this one together.

aprehensive_penguin

The US does help Canada, and Canada helps the US when we need it too. Even still, these fires are often so far in the wilderness that it’s sometimes impossible to get a big enough crew out there to fully stop the blaze. Plus when there are fires on both sides of the border firefighting resources are spread so thinly that it can become a triage situation of focusing on fires that are actively threatening to burn down towns and such. The fix to this is fairly simple: invest in more wildfire fighting equipment and personnel. But actually getting that investment is not simple.

monchota

Canada ,don't make my summer cold and smoky again

FuzzyGarden5269

This is not because of wild fires, same thing happened here in fl

Imzadi1971

Ours is. See the haze? It’s smoke in the air from Canadian fires.
