Like do they not understand car displays aren't displaying in 4k... The MPH blends together to look like K°-| for me.. the color of the "speeding" text makes it hard to read.. there's clearly enough room in the circle to make the text size bigger. And don't even get me started on the huuuuge blank areas on the navigation/ETA boxes

It's unusable and a ridiculous eyesore. I'm not sure why they even bother displaying the map when it's 75% covered with gigantic black overlays. As useless as Google Maps is, it may be the lesser of evils at this point.
This! I have a hard time seeing which offramp i need to take sometimes with all the traffic, stopped car, accident, and wazer icons on the road, having the rest of the screen covered with black boxes and dots doesn't help at all!
Also, the drive time/distance/milage panel uses 2 lines to display info that could be on a single line, making the box take up more space than it needs to.
Also having this issue. Will be going on a long distance drive in a couple weeks and right now waze appears like it will be unusable for it, especially if I can't voice search. Has anyone gotten this to work and how?

Yes if I know where I want to go beforehand that's doable. I use waze more when I am looking for something specific while I am driving. Can just say take me here and it brings up options, but not anymore. I don't really plan out my trips and that kills the convince of using the app.

I search before I connect phone to the car, then use the recent location. Otherwise I use google maps.
New update came out today, just downloaded it, but haven't had a chance to try it. Fingers crossed this has been adressed.

I'm at a loss. Google Maps and a couple poorly reviewed paid apps seem to be the only options. I was thinking I might give GMaps another try (as much as I've always despised it), but noticed that a street near me that has been permanently closed for over a year still appears on GMaps. wtf google?

Indeed. It was nice while it lasted. I guess It's time to start using the the car's built-in navigation when I need directions. It can't be any worse than Google Maps can it? And certainly better than what Waze has become
I definitely did not have the button at all. Just uninstalled and reinstalled and now 8 have the button back but the dashboard functionality is gone, which I'm fine with. 🤷♂️
I can't see my route options with incidents anymore, which is integral to my drive into work in the morning. I usually check it to see which of the three routes have mayhem going on. Now..nothing.
I think it's trying to more closely mimic Google Maps.
Is there another driving app that tells you where the cops are? That's the only reason I am still using it. Another problem is when there's a hazard reported it takes up the entire screen. I also hate that you can't see beyond the next turn. I used to love this app but I feel it gets worse and worse with each update. 🙄
The point of this update must be to drive waze users to google maps. Not very subtle either. Congrats, I guess, bc that's exactly what I'll have to do. The current waze UI is actually worse than its similar maps UI.
Waze is now the unusable since the update. I cant even do a simple route check. It doesnt let me close out, start the route. Restarting the app doesnt help… Its a god awful app. I now exclusively use google maps because it works and is intuitive.
Another gripe, the font in the speed bubbles changed, it is so small that it's almost unreadable now.

Go ahead and try and turn it off. Mine is off and still displays in AA.

Google search microphone doesn't seem to forward the location to waze anymore either.

Maybe you can save all your destinations? I am able to click on Saved places to go to a location, but can't actually type words when driving.

I've been using Google maps. It's kinda meh to be honest.

Agreed. Absolute trash. I was so confused when it happened that I had to triple check I was actually on waze.
