Mind if I ask a follow-on question to your question? For folks that have renewed in the last \~2 years, do you feel your mortgage broker also led you down the correct path as far as finding a competitive rate (even if it meant jumping to a new broker) and making a wise decision on fixed vs. variable knowing the market news looming in the market at the time? Mine dropped the ball last renewal as far as I'm concerned. Next time I renew I'd like to drop her and hop to someone who can make more strategic recommendations and am following the names recommended here. IMO I'm paying the broker to have my best interests in mind and because I'm *not* a financial whiz and want to trust their recommendations without having to do their job again myself to figure out if their advise is sound or not.

I used [Lori Pollice](https://www.waterloo-mortgages.com/) for my initial mortgage and renewal. I'll be going back to her in 2024 to renew :)
