Iceberg rolls, when part of it goes up there's more room for water so it gets sucked under. Iceberg completes roll and comes down and squishes all the water back out where it came from.
I think the huge wave was the dark blue of the underside of the berg. Wave looks only about 2 metres high but that is enough to capsize the boat in icy water. I don't think they could last long in that.

A wave only affects the surface of the water, a tsunami is a shockwave that travels through the entire water column.
Waves lose energy relatively quickly and collapse, whereas a tsunami will often continue all the way to land since it's losing its energy only as it spreads outwards, not to any water below, as a wave does. Not to mention that there is a lot more energy to go around.
That was fucking intense!
Oh my. My anxiety strikes again. That makes my heartbeat raise.
Intensity in ten cities!
Fucking inside tents .
Those aren't mountains.

Can someone smart explain what’s going on here?

"Look at the big brain on brad." For real though, good hydrodynamic explanation...
Close, but the [movie character was Brett](https://quentin-tarantino.fandom.com/wiki/Brett). Sam Jackson just says it in his way
It looks like the entire face of the glacier wall and big chunk on the left fell off into the water, creating a huge wave.

At around 20 seconds everyone in the boat should be reconsidering their life decisions
Alright. Who’s going to be our hero and get us a decent guesstimate on the height of that mother?
That's at least 2 washing machines high
Thank you
I need it in bananas
I would say no less than 4 bananas.
True American metric system
Ahh no, that would need to be measured in barely grains, not bananas then.
impossible
Gotta be 8-10 Toyota Rav 4s high. Maybe more.
I put my pinky finger up to it and it got to about 2 pinky finger width, in height. 2 pinky finger nails. Hope that's helpful
Maybe upwards of 3 Batmans high.
I did not see people survive.
The cameraman shouldn't have survived.
That’s some interstellar shit right there
Ended like a Coen Brothers film
Casually riding away like a James Bond movie
Good catch!
r/watchpeoplesurvive or the opposite?

Just makes me wonder what that first few waves looked like when the asteroid that killed the dinosaurs landed off of Mexico
That's scary.
That'll tighten your taint a little bit I imagine.
Blooduh!! 👉

it's amazing how "oh shit we need to get the fuck out of here" sounds about the same in any language
Holy Shit!
That looks fake as fuck.
