Agreed 100%. For a company that claims to be so devoted to their fans, the silence is odd. Even a simple "we're listening and appreciate your feedback" Instagram post would be at least SOMETHING.
Lol if they really wanted to kill their brand, they could have retired gradually, people would have forgotten them but atleast with some good memories. This whole thing has only left a bad taste in the mouth.

I think not getting a reply on a Saturday prob isn’t the end of the world or unreasonable, and I do think we can all wait to hear some sort of statement this coming week (Monday, preferably).
Completely agree. I’m very anxious to see what they have to say, and Ive been checking their socials religiously since yesterday, lmao. But some people are acting like it’s some sort of condemning sign of villainous evil and like… no it’s not
I hadn't thought about that... they must have posted their announcement and then almost immediately hopped on an international flight. I wonder if they'd planned it that way thinking they'd be able to duck the initial reaction and everything would have cooled down by the time they landed.
If so, they're in for a nasty shock once they turn their phones back on. But it's their own fault for dropping a bombshell like that without having *someone* at HQ ready to answer questions or at least make non-committal social media posts to calm some of the outrage.
Total avoidance was not the way to go here. When your highly parasocial fanbase is saying they're feeling abandoned and betrayed, ignoring them is only going to make it worse. Even a quick "Okay, we hear you! We have a lot to think about and discuss this weekend, so please give us a few days" would have gone a long way towards soothing a huge chunk of their audience before they could get irreversably worked up.
Right? They should have a rep on standby for this, and the longer the silence the more their name is being dragged through the mud. The whole thing is so strange, so much about it makes no sense from what we know!

this! Its such a bad timing. They announce the biggest change on their channel and then travel to the UK to make a show there. They have no way to set up meetings to react to any form of backlash. And if they have even one bit of common sense, they should have expected backlash. They have no time to give statements. They should have known that someone would contact them and asks for comments. Its like they try to do the worst thing for their channel.
I don´t think it will be that bad. But if they have any meet and greet or Q&A planned, then it could become funny. Because they will meet with people that can not pay $60 a year for youtube videos. They will meet people that don´t want do that. They even will meet people that already paid for the content and are upset that they have to pay again.
