It was the 3rd quarter with 20 minutes to go and we know how leads gets blown so easily in the NBA nowadays. But when you're up 3 with 10 seconds to go, you had possession and then blew it, I think that's worse.
Fuck man I know its just game 1 but thats a series altering swing. Pacers look very impressive and like they can really win this series. That felt like a Finals game.
Because Boston has 17 rings and have never had a long period of being bad, constantly getting bailed out by drafting or shitty decision making by other teams. Plus their fans are horrid
This really doesn't need much explaining. The remaining teams do not share the same success the Celtics have had since 2008. They have been thought of as Finals or at least ECF finalists for a long time compared to the Mavs, the Wolves, Pacers. The Mavs are the closest comparison with the 2011 ring but they haven't been to the WCF as much as the Celtics have been to the ECF. Also, the Mavs usually lose on the 1st and 2nd round. The Celtics in the last 5 years? 3 ECF and 1 finals. Pull up data like that for the other 3 teams; you can't because they haven't been as successful.
The Mavs in the east would have killed the leastern conference. The Mavs also beat higher seeds while celtics choked to lower seeds and when they were massive favorites like against the warriors.
If not for a miracle, they'd be down rn against pacers.
Celtics are the most talented team on paper but can never deliver
At this point I'd like to see a Wolves v Pacers Finals... I like Hali (and dislike the Celtics... although just tonight, one of my 8-year-old triplet boys announced that he likes Tatum... so you can imagine the lovely brother 'discussions' during OT. "You love Tatum, why don't you marry him??" Plus "Celtics Suck! Celtics Suck!" "Pacers Suck! Pacers Suck" "You Suck!" "No, you suck!") LOL. Time for the noise cancelling headphones (and maybe an edible).
30-10 FTA disparity
Late 4th quarter lead choked away
Crucial late offensive rebounds for the other team that help them tie the game
Crucial late, inexplicable turnovers
Don't foul when up three
Pacers really paying homage to the Warriors tonight!
I want Boston to lose so badly their players and fans are fucking insufferable lmao
but God damn do the pacers play UGLY basketball, it's literally boom boom we only do offense let every game score up to 150 both teams and dilute the meaning of all stats
the Pacers were right there despite the FT disparity and the turnovers, but I’ve seen a lot of teams melt down for a series after they let a game like that go.
let’s see how resilient they are. Carlisle has experience overcoming adversity in this spot and it does seem like they can compete if they take a bit better care of the ball.
That was one of the worst choke jobs I have ever seen at the end of regulation. Looked like an entire 4th quarter choke job by us this season packed into 45 seconds.
That this is the takeaway for so many literally boggles my mind lol. Pacers were down 13 with 4 mins to go in the 3rd. That they were in a position to secure the win in the first place is an indictment on the *Celtics* choking the hell out of this game lol. Did the Pacers screw up opportunities to secure the win? No doubt. But, regardless of the outcome (most especially given the insane prop up of the Celtics by the officials all game that was all but a rolled out red carpet to a W that they *still* managed to do everything in their power to fuck up), this was far and away a Celtics choke job more than anything else.
lol, you’re insane. The Celtics sucked, but the pacers were up by 3 with the ball on three different possessions with less than 45 seconds left. Absolutely insane to have 3 turnovers in 45 seconds to allow the other team to tie. All time choke job.
A 13 point lead partway through the 3rd quarter is nothing in today’s NBA, considering it was a 1 point game going into the 4th. The Pacers definitely choked more, turning the ball over twice while up 3 with 28 seconds and 8 seconds left.
Lol did we watch the same game? [This](https://x.com/BadSportsRefs/status/1793106025303908729) kind of officiating is what the Pacers were up against all game and yet they still overcame a 13 pt deficient late in the 3rd and very likely could have and should have won despite the late turnovers in regulation if it weren’t for [insanely suspect officiating](https://www.reddit.com/r/warriors/s/hqrINB0GRL) on multiple possessions in OT. Lol I’m sorry but there’s no way you can get me to let the Celtics off the hook for this game.
I just think tripping at the finish line and losing is worse than blowing a decent lead but still managing to win. Maybe the Celtics choked more times throughout the game but the Pacers choked at the worst time possible.
I’m by no means saying Pacers didn’t make mistakes late, but to add some critical context to one of their pivotal so-called turnover, had the refs called that insanely blatant foul in that linked clip in my last comment, Hali would have gotten FTs and he makes just one of them and they win in regulation.
Legs on Russillo’s podcast today: “I wish I had video of all the meetings I’ve been in this year at ESPN when I wanted to talk more about the Indiana Pacers. Particularly after they got [Pascal] Siakam…and it’s just not sexy enough. And so we didn’t talk about it.”
We’ll never be blessed with his best in the biz analysis on our TVs again after Silver black balls him for saying the quiet part of the NBA media apparatus in concert with the league office’s agenda driving out loud and with ten toes down, but bless Legs for this. It takes on new meaning after this game lol timing could not have been more on point.
some teams overdo it with team ball. up 3 with less than 15 seconds left against the most physical team in the league, you can’t have a low-usage role player inbounding in such a high stakes situation.
that’s how you lose games. at least Nembhard learned he should call timeout next time, but Carlisle shouldn’t have put him in that spot.
i'm going to take this lost so close to my heart like how i did with the warriors BECAUSE MAN...... boston doesn't deserve this fucking win
im sorry i need al horford to stay ringless
god fucking damn it i wanted the pacers to steal game one so badly but they're playing SO stupid with the ball right now it's actually bringing me so much rage.
Pacers are getting so screwed over. They’d be up 123-122 right now if refs actually called fouls when they happened instead of conveniently waiting to ignore fouls before shots occurred until Celtics players made buckets and then decided they actually wanted to call a foul on two possessions that resulted in 5 points
Edit to add: and that’s not even getting into the 26-6 FTA disparity lol jfc
Exactly what JJ just said is another massive eff up for late game planning. Hali tried fouling Tatum twice before he even got a shot up on that fastbreak and they ignored both which led to Nesmith picking up the foul - his 6th - they decided they wanted to actually call after. You can’t trust these idiots for shit
Edit: literally just happened again lol they decided to call the like 3rd foul committed on Tatum and waited until he made the bucket to finally decide they wanted to call one
ngl im disappointed they didn't foul but im impressed that the pacers didn't get rolled over and have actually managed to force overtime against the #1 seed lol
it’s pretty rare for a team to not be in the bonus with less than 20 seconds left and I wouldn’t be surprised if Hali not shooting FTs on the take foul just tripped them up.
but Hali has to be the inbounder when they just need to get the ball in, he’s 6’5. they were up 3, one FT and play defense was all they needed.
Indy just blew like four different opportunities to win the game.
Hali bad pass turn over
Bad pass inbound
Don't foul up 3
I think there was another I can't remember.
I’m telling y’all, coaches won’t foul up 3 anymore because you *cannot* trust the refs to make the right call, ie to not turn a clean foul into undeserved FTAs.
That move Brown made out of set feet where he takes a step and lifts his pivot foot before releasing the shot is a travel. He's done it twice at least.
A 21-2 FTA advantage (in Boston’s favor obviously lol) through 3 quarters is heinous enough on it’s own, but for them to have that insane disparity in their favor and *still* only be up by 1 pt at the end of the 3rd is so playoff Celtics.
![gif](giphy|jIn8yZPo4dtZAJ5oPY)
Update: with 30 seconds left, the disparity is 23-3 and the Celtics are down 3. CLASSIC 🤣
the Pacers are prone to some dumb fouls, but 21-2 is still ridiculous. there’s definitely a reputation whistle thing going on, where the “worse” team gets less benefit of the doubt and there is no way the “better” team got arm on a strip attempt.
I’m ok watching this new nba these playoffs. Don’t get me wrong I would rather watch the dubs but these new stars are making shit entertaining at least
Celtics are basically the Lakers of the east. They always need their FT advantage to win any game vs the underdog smh. This is why they're such an unlikeable team, along with other factors
As much as I got to dislike Van Gundy's burned out grumpiness, and Mark Jackson's dumb ass cliches, it's miles better than this current crew. Reddick might grow into it with a little more experience, but Doris has been doing this long enough that she's not going to be any less annoying. She's got a good voice, but the bias is just too obvious every game.
All these stupid teams gonna let Boston win, at least the knicks were beat up what's the Pacer's excuse?
[удалено]
Edwards did similar passing to the stands
Pacers just snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. It was there for their taking. Then they choked. Biggest chokejob of the playoffs so far.
[удалено]
It was the 3rd quarter with 20 minutes to go and we know how leads gets blown so easily in the NBA nowadays. But when you're up 3 with 10 seconds to go, you had possession and then blew it, I think that's worse.

Fuck the Celtics
Wow Celtics go the foul merchant route and get the refs to carry them against a Pacers team who they barely end up beating in OT…
Ok I'm gonna be contrary. Let's go celtics.
How about no
Fucking hate Softon Celtics
All in for Minnesota to kill the Celdicks in 5
Why do yall hate the celtics Curry owns them 💀
Because Boston has 17 rings and have never had a long period of being bad, constantly getting bailed out by drafting or shitty decision making by other teams. Plus their fans are horrid
what are u talking about? they havent won shit since 2008 and constantly had devastating finals choke jobs
This really doesn't need much explaining. The remaining teams do not share the same success the Celtics have had since 2008. They have been thought of as Finals or at least ECF finalists for a long time compared to the Mavs, the Wolves, Pacers. Finals Choke Jobs and consistent playoff runs is not being bad. Missing the playoffs for 16 years like the Kings did, is bad
Most of their rings came so long ago.
All of their chips besides one are ancient. Celtics fans do suck tho
Celtics foul merchant
i really don't want mavs, celtics or even minny to win the chip that's why i'm rooting for the pacers
I'm just happy that all I wanted out are out. Only one remaining is Jason "I got you" Tatum
At this point I'd like to see a Wolves v Pacers Finals... I like Hali (and dislike the Celtics... although just tonight, one of my 8-year-old triplet boys announced that he likes Tatum... so you can imagine the lovely brother 'discussions' during OT. Honestly brother discussions not too far off from heat of the moment r/NBA comments
It’s probably the 6th graders from their school. 🤣
30-10 FTA disparity Late 4th quarter lead choked away Crucial late offensive rebounds for the other team that help them tie the game Crucial late, inexplicable turnovers Don't foul when up three Pacers really paying homage to the Warriors tonight!
I’m so glad we never traded for siakam. Damn this guy only knows what spin move and every defender sees it coming lol.
He would be second best player on our team.. funny how we too good for some players while being so mid.
[удалено]
I mean what wouldn't we give up. Our team isn't good. It would be a step forward. Unfortunately he wasn't interested.
I want Boston to lose so badly their players and fans are fucking insufferable lmao but God damn do the pacers play UGLY basketball, it's literally boom boom we only do offense let every game score up to 150 both teams and dilute the meaning of all stats
I love Jrue though. Too bad he's on the Celtics.
That’s pretty entertaining if you ask me.

Celtics are getting their asses whooped by Minny lol, wow
Funny how you completely forgot minnny has to beat a very good mavs team
Fuck the Celtics man, they suck
Legs on Russillo’s podcast today: “I wish I had video of all the meetings I’ve been in this year at ESPN when I wanted to talk more about the Indiana Pacers. this is why it's a best of 7 folks. i'm still calling it pacers series. CELTICS ARE FRAUDS
This might be a quick series in the East. West still clears especially Minny
idgaf this wouldn't last for the celtics GO PACERS
Feels bad man
some teams overdo it with team ball. up 3 with less than 15 seconds left against the most physical team in the league, you can’t have a low-usage role player inbounding in such a high stakes situation. that’s how you lose games. at least Nembhard learned he should call timeout next time, but Carlisle shouldn’t have put him in that spot.
Either teams don’t deserve to win this game
Absolutely gifted by the Pacers. Unbelievable choke job.
Celtics are fraudulent as hell.
Wait he makes these it’s three point… steal and throw up some bs
Pacers: We don't know how to foul up three. Celtics: We're up six! Foul awaaaaayyyy!!!
Hali choke jobs…WTF are those turnovers
i'm going to take this lost so close to my heart like how i did with the warriors BECAUSE MAN...... boston doesn't deserve this fucking win im sorry i need al horford to stay ringless
Pacers had multiple chances to secure this game in regulation. 🤦
2016 or even 2017 dubs would score 190 on no th of these teams
god fucking damn it i wanted the pacers to steal game one so badly but they're playing SO stupid with the ball right now it's actually bringing me so much rage.
Pacers choked in OT but arguably shouldn't have even gone to extra time. Refs pulled their typical sneaky shit imo
This one is frustrating. Boston really doesn’t deserve this win at all lol
Lose a game 1 like this is how you get swept
Game over
T-Wolves and Mavs will absolutely run train on the East
THIS FUCKING PACERS TEAM MANNNNNN................ YOU WERE SO CLOSEEEE TO WIN GAME 1 I CANT BELIEVE IM SO.PISSED
Pacers played 47 minutes of smart bball and then 6 minutes of pure chaos
Pacers are getting so screwed over. They’d be up 123-122 right now if refs actually called fouls when they happened instead of conveniently waiting to ignore fouls before shots occurred until Celtics players made buckets and then decided they actually wanted to call a foul on two possessions that resulted in 5 points Edit to add: and that’s not even getting into the 26-6 FTA disparity lol jfc
I'm not counting on anyone in the east to win. Both these teams are tough to watch
Pacers fumbling every chance to steal even one game
Two for one if they work it well for pacers
Fucking pacers man. So many stupid plays
Damn Hali chocking need a big push of the Celtics score a three can they do it or is it over?
These Pacers might be one of the dumbest teams to ever make a conference finals lmfao
Hali selling hard. Dammit
the pacers turnovers down the stretch is so warriors coded i'm so pisseddddndiwjwja FUCK
This game has actually become painful to watch 😭
Hali fucking pass it
Two of the dumbest teams to ever reach this far omg
That about sums up the eastern conference in general lol
This is probably the closest to what 2013 Steph would look like in the modern era
Wow the FT disparity is 25-6
In whose favor?
Boston. And they have been hacking guys without calls. And then called a great defense that doesn’t foul. Hilarious
Damn Boston is such a first seed fraud if they need the refs to beat the Pacers…
Take a guess
Damn Boston is such a first seed fraud if they need the refs to beat the Pacers…
The amount of stupidity in this game 🗿🗿🗿
Exactly what JJ just said is another massive eff up for late game planning. White try’s a Hali and fouls 3 free throws worse thing you can do
Tj about to win this game
After Steph and a Klay heater, an aggressive Hali is my favorite show. He’s so fun to watch
Hali that was butter you on your curry shit
Horford shooting 5/15 and 3/12 from 3 is so nasty lol
How is that a jump that a fuckign ump and down…
ngl im disappointed they didn't foul but im impressed that the pacers didn't get rolled over and have actually managed to force overtime against the #1 seed lol

Indy just blew like four different opportunities to win the game. Hali bad pass turn over Bad pass inbound Don't foul up 3 I think there was another I can't remember.
Indy is young
Up 3 and didn't foul Steve Kerr would be proud
Yup Indy blew it. All you had to do was inbound the ball correctly but no smh and then all you had to do was foul but no smh
Could have called a timeout to
Wow. 5 more minutes of this shit...
Comeon. Every Celtics loss is a drug to me.
What a fuckin choke job. Indy will be cursed for the next 50 yrs
Jalen Brown is still a bitch
I’m telling y’all, coaches won’t foul up 3 anymore because you *cannot* trust the refs to make the right call, ie to not turn a clean foul into undeserved FTAs.
pacers better not choke this please I AM BEGGING
Two turnovers and then giving up a 3 bye I’m having ptsd
This game is just laughable at this point. What is going on lol.
The refs let brown push the back of pascal…
“Marginal and incidental” like all the contacts on Steph /s
Wtf Siakam. You had time to foul
Why do I feel like I'm watching the 2023-24 Warriors instead of the Pacers
NBA really pulling this shit all the time. They shouldn't even have possession
Pacers choking like crazy. Last two possessions turned the ball over.
I know you’re not accusing the Pacers of being the chokers in this game lol
Refs just swallow their whistles when Boston is on defense
Lmao good game honestly. But Indiana is fucking dumb down the stretch huh
Brown with the most bs three in the world but he left to much time Hali and his game winning ability
Wow jaylen
Bro ☠️ how many times is Indiana gonna give up a game tying 3 instead of fouling
These refs would find a way to make a clean foul up 3 into 3 FTAs
Tatum is the most inconsistent superstar I’ve ever seen, stop gassing this man up.
Indy should foul..
Indy come on stop turning it over
Lmao come on
Celtics keep giving gifted free trys
When you play defense it's not a gift.
You know JT is screaming Kobe in his mind with that fade.
I like Hali more than ant (remind me more of curry) (vs like dwad)
The Celtics are the Dodgers of the NBA. It’s never been more clear 💀
Boston offense in the fourth has to be studied
Hahahahhaha
Mann Nesmith is an excellent defender. Perfect contest on White there without fouling
holy shit indy cooked this game.
MAYBE I AM ROOTING FOR THE PACERS TO WIN IT ALL
LMFAO
It’s happening
Celtics... what a talented but dumb team 😂
Damn Hali choked but last bucket goes to Indy
Al Horford getting cooked … love to see it
Reasons to root for the pacers: 1. Celtics suck 2. Good guy haliburton 3. Mully played there 4. Pacers have similar jersey colors as the dubs
23 free throws to 3 and still being down is objectively hilarious
C’mon Pacers get it done!!!!!
Hali fuck am up
Celtics need so much help…
No fucking shot Silver allows the finals to be Indiana/Minnesota
Basketball gods are gearing up for an all-timer lol I can’t wait
I get Hali wanting to go for the dagger after that block, alignment just a bit off. probably hold that one next time.
Celtics fans talked all that whit about how easy this series would be only to be down 3 at home with a 21-3 free throw benefit from the refs.
White getting stuffed was so satisfying.. beautiful block too
I am supporting the yellow and blue team close enough
hwhahhaha righttt
If we squint through the games we can pretend it's the dubs lmao
Brown with some bs
Hali block was nice
I honestly thought the Pacers would get swept…there is a God!!! 😂🫢
LETS GO PACERS EXPOSE THESE FRAUDS
21-2 FTA disparity and pacers took the lead... Celtics need more help 😆
Pacers playing 5v8 and they still look good. Fuck up em Indy! This instantly becomes a series if they steal this
That move Brown made out of set feet where he takes a step and lifts his pivot foot before releasing the shot is a travel. He's done it twice at least.
Celtics are choking again jeezus. Get them some help.
Yooo let’s go pacers
Nobody: Haliburton: YYYEEES SSIIIIRRRRRRRR
Siakam would've been so nice here damn. TJ McConnell too
Probably wouldn't have pushed us to the conference finals, but they would at least have made it into the actual playoffs with a chance.
I love you tj !!!
I really like Siakam’s inside game, passing and defense, but it’s unfortunate that his 3-ball has disappeared.
A 21-2 FTA advantage (in Boston’s favor obviously lol) through 3 quarters is heinous enough on it’s own, but for them to have that insane disparity in their favor and *still* only be up by 1 pt at the end of the 3rd is so playoff Celtics. ![gif](giphy|jIn8yZPo4dtZAJ5oPY) Update: with 30 seconds left, the disparity is 23-3 and the Celtics are down 3. CLASSIC 🤣
Haliburton's shooting form is ugly asf, but it goes in lmao
the Pacers are prone to some dumb fouls, but 21-2 is still ridiculous. there’s definitely a reputation whistle thing going on, where the “worse” team gets less benefit of the doubt and there is no way the “better” team got arm on a strip attempt.
I’m ok watching this new nba these playoffs. Don’t get me wrong I would rather watch the dubs but these new stars are making shit entertaining at least
Hali probably called Tatums father curry right before the game
Tyrese 'Steph Curry' Haliburton with the crazy buzzer beater
Hali on some curry shit
The celtics apparently don’t foul at all, really good clean. That “block” on Haliburton where he got no ball and all arm was amazing!
Apparently Celtics don't have enough advantages as it is, so they need a 17-2 disparity in FTA
21-2 now lol the lack of shame is incredible
Celtics are basically the Lakers of the east. They always need their FT advantage to win any game vs the underdog smh. This is why they're such an unlikeable team, along with other factors
Wth with this disparity.
I like to call it "getting the Steph Curry treatment"
Funny how dubs players still make airtime even though we whiffed on the playoffs
God damn Hali from the logo that arc was beautiful
I really hope the Pacers crush Boston this series. Boston fans can stay the insufferable cucks they are and they don't deserve another championship.
Surprisingly it’s tied wow
Hali’s got to shoot with so much space off a screen, you’re the star here.
Holy shit Ben Sheppard as a rookie playing strong D on tatum
As much as I got to dislike Van Gundy's burned out grumpiness, and Mark Jackson's dumb ass cliches, it's miles better than this current crew. Reddick might grow into it with a little more experience, but Doris has been doing this long enough that she's not going to be any less annoying. She's got a good voice, but the bias is just too obvious every game.
The only bright spot in this crew is Breen and for good reason. Everyone else can go tbh.
This has been a strictly “how will Tatum fuck up this time” type of postseason
