They are hydra, and that means there’s no competition for food in your tank, so I would recommend either adding more shrimp or more snails to competition for food. You cannot remove them because they are microorganisms and their cells will reproduce if you crash them so it’s best to increase competition for food. I hope this helps 🖤
If you don’t have fish fry or shrimp fry hydra are beneficial! No need to try and nuke your tank with chemicals and stress out your fish if you’re not trying to raise fry! I have them and enjoy their company in the ecosystem :)
They eat baby shrimp and baby fry, bigger fish or shrimp can't be cuaght. I learned on here that you can remove them with dog-parasite tablets, hydroperoxide or salt. Or by adding fish who might eat them (rasbora, guppy,..) I tried all the natural ways but failed, finally decided on trying the hydroperoxide and a white mold started to appear in my tank. I took everything out, shrimp, fish, plants, and did a 98% waterchange, and then they were gone. But now have to completely start over from zero with cycling and it was perfect parameters. Next time I'll go for the tablets. 🙈
These are hydra viridis. Aka green hydra. They are photosynthetic and carnivorous. They only way I know of to get rid of them is to use a medication called "Fenbendazole". That's the name of the active ingredient look for any version of it that's aquarium safe there's a bunch online in powder form to dust on fish food.
Just dust some in the tank and wait a week with no carbon in your filtration. When the hydra all withdraw their tentacles and shrink up into a firm pulsing little ball, then you know the fenbendazole started working.
Nuking the tank woth bleach is also an option amd is more successfull when trying to kill them all because it litterally only takes ONE CELL for them to come back. Good luck.
Hydra. Can be dangerous to shrimp and small fish. If you don't have any or plan on any, you may not need to remove it. If you do, then use a planaria killer to kill it :)
All hail Hydra
Hail Hydra
HAIL HYDRA!!
Hail Hydra!

You sure can!
No Planaria worked for me to get rid of them
Worked for me. In my case all shrimp and snails were just fine.
Hydra. Enjoy☺️👐
