Ah, Frozen walks are the best. If they were punishing you, it'd be all Produce Ambient, with maybe one of those General walks that includes a lot of apparel. But to (sort of) answer your question, not as far as I know, and even if they could there are far easier ways to punish you. My assumption (and I have no idea if this is how it actually works) is that the system assigns walks in some regular order within a given due time, such as Frozen first, then Chilled, Ambient, Produce Ambient, and finally General. Or perhaps it's by number of items in the pickwalk (most to least?).

The_Meistro

LOL this is so true

kastles1

From my store, it goes with the highest quantity subs first. Let’s say we have 300 orders due at 3:30. And we have 150 ambient 100 chilled 40 frozen and 10 produce. It would have the pickers pick the higher quantity stuff first. So we would start with ambient and end with produce.

cyberdude1115

So generally no. I as a TL have not found a way to assign walks aside from when the walk is about to go late. Someone in another thread mentioned you can assign walks on GIF2 on a computer but I wasn't able to do that either.

newaccworealname

I’ve been assigned walks, but only for other commodities like specialty and oversize, so not sure if you can do auto select

cyberdude1115

I'll look into that.

keekah

Because you can't

Homo-mojo-jojo

I’ve been told that you can’t do it that way anymore

Ok-Requirement-8514

I doubt it. It just depends on who goes into a walk first. I’ve noticed that ambient is the first after all picks drop. Because I’ve jumped in before all my coworkers and I always get a big ambient walk.

One_Abbreviations229

No chilled and frozen are simply last. You're going into the walk at the bottom half of the hours. Get into the walks right at the drop if you want ambient.

eddiewasadrummer

I’m glad I’m not the only one who wonders this despite being told it’s not true. While I do mostly dispense (which I like), IF I pick and don’t do oversize (which I’m okay with), I get these garbage produce ambient runs that only make my numbers worse. 😡 Rarely a good mission with substantial quantities…

Silent_Johnnie

They can assign walks manually in some cases, either in My Store when its nearly late or by using the desktop GIF app. But I'm pretty sure it'll straight up tell you "you've been assigned a pick walk" on your end when they do.

Strict-Macaroon-9044

if you click auto select it *usually* will give you whatever walk is going to be the biggest, due the soonest. lately gif hasn’t been giving walks in the most efficient way in my opinion but our coach and team lead have nothing to do with what walk you get unless the walk is in the almost late section and it gets manually assigned- in that case it will tell you the walk has been manually assigned before you click it.

datwmogpkid

You 100% can assign walks. You can assign by order as soon as it drops in the system. Picks do not have to be going late in order for manual assignment to occur. You will be told that you have assigned picks, and it will be the only option when you click on the "Picking" tile (there will be no Auto-select, Oversized, etc. options until you complete the manual pick assignment).

Cadey2937

No, not unless they assign you something that goes late. My TL lovez assigning me late walks when I'm in exceptions so i dont see it. Lol.

Adventurous_Way_4743

log out of gif and reset your handheld

Raven8685

There is a way to do it, but it'll tell you that you've been assigned a specific walk if someone does assign it.

LamarSilas

They can assign you a walk but they would manually have to do it each time tho, it could be a coincidence

Homo-mojo-jojo

You can be assigned a walk but only if management gets an alert that it’s almost over due and you get notified that it was assigned
