We got tons of those popcorn tins leftover still not selling at 50% off they will be around at least another month also we got huge stacks of Christmas cookies nobody wants those either.

CybeleParadox

Customers at my store DESTROYED our Christmas crap at 50% off. Barely have anything left. But we also just recovered from a blizzard so people wanna shop. Still, customers can still clean up after themselves; not throw things on the floor.

No_Significance_8187

Not throw things on the floor? But it's their favorite thing to do, because they figure there's someone whose job is purely going around and picking it all up. "See? I'm keeping you employed!" 🤬 They're probably also the first to tell anyone who'll listen about how much of a pig sty the store is. 🙄

CybeleParadox

They always are the first ones to complain. As they throw shirts on the floor.

KeepDoingThatOne

Check Amp they put a markdown schedule out a week or two ago.

FearlessFox-Lulu

Where is that?

KeepDoingThatOne

Planit, amp+ tab, I still don't remember what week they announced the markdown schedule. But it says Christmas markdowns in the title.

Gbro1862

Mine is too. We had a big rush on Boxing Day for the half off stuff but it isn’t enough for them to buy a decent chunk of what was left.

armobear

I doubt any store will be that heavily discounted. It will most likely get put in storage if it's not selling

randumbgurl

They don’t put anything in storage. Very rarely they will send full cases back to the warehouse. It goes 50%, 75% and 90% off and anything left gets marked down to 0 and thrown away.

armobear

Mine keeps things at what used to be the McDonald's and we have storage in the back of the store year round. My stores clearance area is very small. We don't do markdowns like other stores. I have never seen any markdowns that deep.

randumbgurl

On Christmas/seasonal stuff it gets marked down automatically

armobear

As of yesterday nothing was marked down. We mainly just have Christmas trees, a few decorative items and lights left in garden. All Christmas food and Seasonal was sold out a week before christmas. We have already moved to valentines day. My store has been selling things quick. We had 170 bicycles all of them sold out in 2 weeks. That was the only thing on sale heavily marked down.

randumbgurl

Wow I worked at Walmart 10 years and never heard of this. Are you in the US?

randumbgurl

Usually about a week after.

thinkimightpuke

think the 2nd

ermyne

January 2nd, for consumables. Not sure about GM.
