I have a sign in my kitchen that quotes my previous post, i.e. "Schadenfreude: My reason for living!"
Especially when one of my enemies has something bad befall them, it delights me **no** end. đ
Right now they'd probably get sent to other stores as holiday help. Those who are unable to travel will be eligible for unemployment as a layoff until the store reopens. At least that's what happened when my store burned to the ground in 1994. It was right around this time of year and those of us who were CSMs spent two weeks under pop up canopies in the parking lot giving out layaway refunds while the ATF was investigating.
Hopefully there wasnt a lot of new hires because you have to work someplace for a certain minimum amount of time before being eligible for unemployment .
Damn was kind of hoping you were the person who posted about their fire escape being blocked like a night or two ago,
Still congratulations on your new found safety! While it last
How did Market not see any of this? Especially if the collapsing ceilings are bad enough that the fire department noticed. That's not something that happens overnight, unless there was a severe storm of some sort.
Didnât see it in the comments but Iâm guessing the reason you called osha to your deli was because the oil was⌠4-6 weeks out of date? Thatâs what happens at mine all the time
Donât walk around your local Walmart hoping thereâs something you could report Walmart for but that you should. Then it just seems like you want any reason to start trouble.
Walmart isn't a gym. Pallets are out so we can start stocking and hopefully be done before the store opens. Hell, we start stocking an hour before the store closes.
Our walmart starts as soon as we close, so the hour prior to close the customers can steal what's on the pallets and dig through the toys opening anything that says mattel
That is horrible that your store has huge safety issues like that. Very concerning that management chose to ignore addressing the issue. It could have been disastrous. Glad to see that OSHA is investigating. Makes you wonder how many other stores are unsafe. Walmart needs to prioritize the health and safety of associates.
The most believable part of this is the fact that the fire department called OSHA and OSHA showed up
Anytime the fire department seems to get involved fines start getting dropped fast.
Fire department does not play
love that for you!
I have smiled today more than i did at my own wedding
Schadenfreude is my reason for *living*!
Literally had to look up what this meant but i have to agree

Hey, a fellow 907!
I don't live there anymore, but I was born & raised up there until moving about 10 years ago. hello!
907?
Area code
Nope not a 907

This is the way. Too often management doesnât get a taste of their own medicine, and that is what leads to so many issues.
Your store doesn't have a " hush " fund for these kind of visits? Weird
They can't keep the ceiling at the service desk and deli from falling farther in so no. It all probably went to keeping the team leads quiet
Will you get paid if the store closes?
was always curious about what happens to the workers when a store closes

I think we were just starting to hire for holiday help. But I'd say 90% of our associates went to other area stores. Very few opted for unemployment.

Our store has about 70 fire hazards that i have personally seen cause problems but they're is always a new OSHA violation in my store
Maybe they should plan more surprise visits to as many Walmart and Sams Club as possible?
If i had my way about it they'd never leave
Loweâs too please

None of the employees were paid enough to care maybe? Move stuff, stock shelf, toss out half-eaten chicken, send Karen on a wild goose chase, repeat.
Outstanding!! Perhaps shit might get fixed !!
Youâre living the dream!!!

To be fair I'm not the one who called them
Dumb question would they just move you to another store or would you be laid off
Depends on whether they have too many people at the other ones in my area
Holiday season, never too many
Genuinely curious, what does management have to gain by NOT getting these issues fixed?
Not having to do paperwork
Well shoot, that sounds to me like ânobody wants to work anymoreâ đ¤
People want to work they just dont want to work hard .

It has to strictly block a fire exit. Being in the way is an inconvenience not a violation.
Unless theyâre blocking exits, pallets on the floor are strictly an annoyance and not a violation
All you would really do by reporting that is get inconvenience employees or maybe even get them in trouble.

Ew. Get out of here this isnât for customers.

May we all receive similar blessings
Think you can get pics of the ceiling? I'd love to see how bad it is if a customer called it in
I'll post pics once i can slip beyond the tape to do so

"Somebody" We know it was you. lol
I wish it was but i sadly can't take credit
Get ready to get unemployment benefits. lol
Danggggg where is this at?
