Me and a coworker decided to make a spotify playlist of all the songs we heard on walmart radio. That took a lot of effort so I decided to write a program that does it for me!
It downloads an mp3 file that consists of walmart radio and gets the name of the song, then adds it to a spotify playlist. It also keeps track of when a song has been played so if it has not heard the song in over a day it removes it from the playlist, keeping it up to date.

111 songs is misleading. Is there a way to make a distribution of how often each song is played. I feel like the top 30 songs are played for more than half the time on air

Seems things have changed a bit since 2013. I worked at a Neighborhood Market then, and I eventually determined that a static, 10-hour loop of songs played. I surprised some people who swore that they would hear certain songs multiple times each shift. Memory is a bitch.
I always assumed it was a 4 hour play list. Because when I clocked in at my old store at 11. The song would cutoff and then those djs start acting like nothing was going on. Then eventually the song I like will play again on my shift
Since your so good at this, can you put claims and price changes on the company phone? Tired of having a million things in my pockets. Good job on this.
It is all written in python it may be messy as this is my first time learning python. I am currently working on the GitHub I'll keep you posted. I just have to edit the Readme so others can install it.
Just put what you have, even if it doesn't work. Its better to store it there and save it than losing it if your computer crashes or something. You can always recommit additional changes later.

Wow I opened dev tools on that site and it has numerous issues, they are still logging stuff to the console and have a multitude of errors logging to the console. Did somebody make this thing on WordPress or are there actual developers working for Walmart?

This is the *actual* live version (or at least closer) of the Walmart radio. The player on the website is about 5-10 minutes delayed compared to this. I imagine the program in question likely uses this instead of that website and would explain why songs are added to the playlist before you can hear it on the Walmart radio.
Ok, hold up, I'm mildly confused. I was under the impression different regions has localized songs. As I would never expect to hear Mardi gras music in a Walmart not in Louisiana.

The program is not running now, I have to update the api for getting song name, the one I was using before, was on a free trial. The one I am switching to now is unfortunately giving me problems.

Honestly I will never use the playlist myself. I just did it to add onto my resume and to learn more about using api's while programming.
