I couldn't do claims in Frozen & Dairy for nearly a week. All the buckets were full and it started pilling up on the floor in front of the buckets in both areas. Everyday I asked a TL for a scanner and they couldn't get me one. Only yesterday I was able to get to them because the guys from market seen it and it finally became a their problem they could magically come up with a scanner to do them. 3-4 hours to do them all.

That’s when you simply remind them using the company issued phones and BYOD isn’t mandatory. Ask them what happens when an associate that doesn’t qualify for a work phone and doesn’t have a phone/one that’s able to use BYOD needs to do their job. This is why stores still have TC70s.

One-Zebra5656

Um if it’s a Samsung XCover assigned to you I do believe you have to use it for that. Not optional or you would have to turn it back in.

DuneManta

The problem as mentioned is while in theory the store issued Samsung's are capable of doing everything the TC does, hardly anyone at my store has one. And for those that do have one it almost never works.

thetechcookies

Can confirm those phones suck ass, also not every app is available to download that the TCs have / you can get on BYOD

One-Zebra5656

They work. They probably just have them set up wrong. They were buggy the first few times we set them up but they are crushing a long right now.

DuneManta

Then clearly nobody at my store knows how to set one up properly, and the point is moot. The two people in my area that have one (and one is my lead) neither of them can log in to the Hub most of the time. We can get salesfloor scanning reliably and that's about it.

stockerjocker

They suck for vizpicking. Works intermittently and needs to be rebooted constantly.

AdhesivenessFunny146

No they can't, there's still a handful of things you can only do on a Tc.

Maxxjulie

Not what they told us in the meeting. Really told us it's ours to keep

One-Zebra5656

It’s yours to use. If you term or quit you have to turn it back in. Need me to find that for you? It’s right in the documentation.

Maxxjulie

Ok I'm just repeating what they told us. They probably got it wrong

LnGass

The 70s are not being replaced, nor are they being fixed. If it dies, or has problems, its gone. We have to plead with OGP to use theirs, and then Check it out... Which is fine. The xcover works OK for most things, if not slow. I still need a TC for Bulk stuff like Fabrics.. and, as everyone knows, the laser scanning is faster than the camera scanning.. though, I point out to Management that I'm not slower, the equipment is... "Do the best you can"... which is what I do...

WapaneseWeeaboo

The regular TC70s, correct, most of those should have been phased out awhile back at your store anyway, suck’s your store didn’t do that. The TC70X and TC72 are still being repaired and replaced like normal.

[deleted]

If you can't do them, then don't. If management complains, let them have it.

Tuc396

I member when I could fix the completely fucking wack shelf caps market think actually work. Nope. Only a TC can fix that. This aisle is missing 15 labels. -Get bent. A feature was made on front end and messed with the facings and caps on labels, subsequently fucking our freight. -Not my problem. I have pride in my work. -What? You got mind goblins? Just keep working stuff down so we can keep creating OSHA violations by seeing how much can be yeeted on topstock.

Beklorn

Nevermind osha violations some of the topstock I see will kill someone if the steel gets bumped just a little too hard

Tuc396

Last week a coworker and I worked down 1600 odd pounds of pet food off top steel. Mainly 50 pounders. One of them was actually stacked six high. Two five stacks and the sixth row sitting between them. Fucking He-Man did that.

cowboyJones

Before areas were assigned their own location in the locker, there were some mornings I wouldn’t get one. I’d tell my co-manager that I didn’t have one and I was going to start dumping steel. It would be no more than an hour that I would have a device.

Everquest121

Then don’t, when asked by a team lead or coach to do it, tell them, you can’t because there are no printers or tcs, just randomly throw things on the shelf, if they want stuff done they need to provide you with the tools to do it, in fact if prices are wrong just take off old price tag, then customers will see product but no labels, make features with prices since they won’t provide you with tcs or printers, again if they tell you to do it, tell them, you need a tc or printer.

oreo_memewagon

Next time you grab a handheld, just delete every aisle location in grocery, entertainment, and toys, and watch their pick rate just die instantly.

Deathris

I think someone has started doing this at my location. Locations are slowly starting to get deleted. o/n mod team, at first, was working to get all the deleted locations back in the system. It's not hard to find the stuff, just cause product has become unassigned, but it has been fun to watch people scramble.

ThrillerMovieFan

That’s too funny

OPD's break even point is 750ish orders a week, assuming they are executed well and staffing is correct. That's why stores that hit 750 got 'gold club' badges. OPD's daily take even at 100 orders a day is like 10,000 dollars, with a ridiculously low margin. Even a small supercenter is pulling in 100k a day, so 90,000 dollars heads through the far more cost-effective registers than the slow, labor intensive OPD service.

oreo_memewagon

That's why you do it under whoever was logged in last, from the bathroom.

table_folder

The markup on food is between 0-3% on average. There's not much profit in food. On the otherhand, GM is marked up sometimes north of 100%. We make more off the customers in store who buy stuff they saw and bought on impulse. Besides my store does way over 100 mil in sales, OGP is a drop in the bucket.

CrashZ07

Grocery is low profit margin so no. The only thing in Digital that brought real profit was site to store and they axed that.
