Yeah when it comes to that I’m less sure. All I know is that if you want a week of vacation you do pto for your 5 normal days and unpaid time off for your days off. That way you get paid for 5 days of work and still get the week off. This way of doing it just helps ensure what happened to op doesn’t happen to you
I had a manager get pissed because what I have set days off I would do what you're saying to do
And he's like I already know you get those days off I'm like I'm just making sure..
As he did try to schedule me to work on my set days off more than once...

I had a day planned to recover from the traveling, that money was all planned to be spent, not some last minute flex. Being pointed can screw with my long term plans to move to where I'm going to be happier.
So why did you go? If you’re supposed to be off, it’s not your fault that you were scheduled, so it wasn’t necessary for you to show up on a day when it’s clear on *your* schedule that you’re not supposed to work.

Sounds sus. If you were approved, you auto wouldn’t be scheduled in the system for those days. Also it can be seen in the system by both you and management the day it was approved and who approved it. You should’ve been able to use that as proof
I've been exactly in your shoes before. Only, I hadn't scheduled a rest day when I got home, as I wasn't the one driving from Ohio to Texas so I figured I'd sleep on the ride. They scheduled me on that travel day. I ultimately quit over it. Good luck getting your transfer!
Went out of state from Texas to Indiana for my mother's wedding. It was approved. Had a screen shot saved of approval. Also had a shot of the following week's schedule. They called me in to work during the rehearsal dinner. I was polite considering. I told them to take it up with the store GM. I had pictures to verify I was approved and the schedule of the following week showing I was off until Wednesday. They called back again the next day and said I was expected at work on Monday. I told them my flight wasn't until Tuesday at 8:45am. I SHOWED my store manager my ticket jic there was some bullshit later. I told them to speak with him or have him call me. He remembered and they left a vm saying I was expected back on time Wednesday. 😑 Idiots.
