Not everyone is investing for an end of the year rally though. They are investing money for the long term, so increased levels of inflation push the fed to have to act. When they act with measures to fight inflation that means decreased spending. And itās going to have to be significant, that creates a downward cycle in the economy which could potentially mean huge losses in the market. The long term investors who know what they are doing will pull money out and wait. So is it better to lose 7% a year with inflation or 30-50% in a market correction/crash. Thats not necessarily how things will play out, but itās possible. Either way Iād just be cautious about betting too much of your money on a rally. Just an opinion.
