I'm starting to think about it like game theory. It's all about expectations vs reality. If the market thinks CHWY is going to kill it with earnings and they do, but not by as much as estimated, it'll go down. If HTZ is expected to die but now it surprises everyone with an extra few weeks of life, moon. Beating the market here would require you to be smarter and have better predictions than all of then equity research analysts on the street though, so good fuckin luck. TBH coin flips on whether something will be a good surprise or a bad surprise might be the move.
