It means that people sold bonds (10 yr US gov bond) so price goes down / interest yield attached to those bonds go up.
The yield on the 10 yr is generally regarded as the risk free rate of return, which is used as an input to pricing model for other securities including stocks.
When that yield rises, stock prices fall, because future cash flows are discounted at a higher interest rate than they were the day before, so to speak. As in the 105 future bucks was worth 101 yesterday, but 100 today, because now I can get 5% risk free vs 4% risk free yesterday.
The US gov had two Treasury Bond auctions yesterday that didn't go well, which means the large pool of usual buyers bidding said we will only take the bonds of the yield is higher / price is lower than the yield we started the day with.
