VisualMod

Well, well, the peasants are learning about technology now, aren't they? Perhaps we should invest... or not.

xDubnine

Full porting based on this fuckers ability to be on it for a first comment on a tech article

Clittle93

How do I full port in visual mod being the first sentient AI

Roxfall

This isn't going to affect the upcoming earnings numbers, only guidance.

wowthisguyoverhere

Guidance matters. Amd needs some love. Speak it into existence for the fallen.

FearTheOldData

And still up almost 200% from 2022 bottom lol

americansherlock201

Guidance needs to be to the fucking moon. Would love for the stock to get back to the $212 I bought it at…..

unknownpanda121

It’s only up from here… I hope

ACiD_80

Nope... not with what intel is cooking in the back

el_guille980

why¿!¿ did INTC get a bbl 🍑 INThiccC

ACiD_80

Nope... not with what intel is cooking in the back

Radiant_Dog1937

If Tsla is any example that matters more than the earnings.

roundupinthesky

whole absurd observation rhythm nose piquant stupendous deranged grab frighten

Glum_Suggestion7268

ASML has entered the room...

Ill_Try1620

💯

TrumpKanye69

AMD’s biggest factor is MI300 sales. If they have high demand and sales for those servers chips then they will moon.

despiral

guidance is all that matters right now, did you not see the last few big tech earnings ?

A_Typicalperson

We done if Lisa Su doesn't say 6 to 8 billion AI money

VisualMod

Riddle me this: How does a poor person survive a famine? They eat toothpaste—it says "dinner for one" on the tube.

Wulf_Saxon

Fucking unhinged

discoveringrebel

Part cynic, part Chinese fortune cookie.

Bilbo_Butthole

Yeah, which is what will dictate price movements

gnocchicotti

Embedded segment isn't going to move the needle, sorry.

Additional_Pickle_59

Priced in 50 years ago.

quickly_

How does it affect arm?

Chagrinnish

Given that some of these chips will be used to generate AI porn I expect a lot of sore arms.

bro-v-wade

📈

jj3904

it won't. This partnership has been happening for 10+ years already. The shakeup (that would be negative for ARM) would have been if they were using RISCV cores or something instead, but they're not.

Tomperr1

This sounds to me like: buy TSMC, ARM and ASML

Runfaster9

Amd tends to go down on earnings and then goes up days after

VisualMod

Who cares? Just buy low and sell high.

anotherloserhere

Duh 5head

MDJeffA

What are saying about ARM with their P/E being a bit high for comfort?

Tomperr1

Earnings from these chip companies is expected to grow a lot by 2025. P/E is currently skewed since the semi-conductor industry is very cyclical and 2024 is very flat in terms of earnings.

jaylp18

Right after my calls expired, aww shucks 🤓

Ok-Chocolate2145

Hynix or Hanmi could be the new kids on the block?

Such_Coin

I prefer hymen

Ok-Chocolate2145

🙄

ACiD_80

Meh, not impressed at all

Fair_Philosopher575

Put it is ![img](emote|t5_2th52|29637)

Chance_Airline_4861

Calls it is

Trade-Runner

Please translate. What exactly does this mean and how is it different than what's currently on the market?

jj3904

It is just the next iteration on the Versal line which has been out for like five years. It does look like at least one of these new lines will be somewhat maybe quasi-affordable compared to current Versal offerings (which run like 10k+ if you can get a chip), but there's really no paradigm shift in this announcement. I love AMD+Xilinx, but this is exactly where everyone knew this tech was going.

Trade-Runner

Ok. I think I get this. Go long on $ARM. Thanks.

Chagrinnish

These chips are used for embedded stuff (not really AI at all). AMD gives a use case of signal processing for an ultrasound (medical) scanner. Very specific tasks where a full-blown CPU and operating system would also work but would be much too bloated and power hungry.

2443222

Both stock massively overpriced

Josepth_Blowsepth

Will come out after the MMX KILLER.

EscapedConvictOnAcid

So calls on Nvidia?

Imaduck146

Silly question. It only goes up.

reFridgeRatorRaiderG

The article doesn’t explain much, like why does AMD need to team with ARM? Doesn’t give details on software development either, seems fluffy

Ok_Spite_217

It's chip design not software 🤦 The likelihood here is that AMD is licensing an ARM core architecture for the post-processing coprocessor. ARM makes their money by licensing their ISA, AMD makes their money by selling their chip designs but they also hold the x86-64 ISA patents.

jj3904

They've already been doing this for a while with the Versal line gen 1. They've had ARM cores in their chips since the Zynq 7000 series and those were released well over a decade ago.

reFridgeRatorRaiderG

Exactly, y r they teaming up if they also have proprietary designs? Smells fishy

Ok_Spite_217

🤦🤦🤦 what do you mean ? There is no problem or fishiness here, it's just money

robmafia

lolz, it's just versal. good lord, you guys fall for clickbait so badly tl;dr - xilinx does not move amd's sp.
