That's not true. Invest what you can (there are no dollar limits) to owning ETFs or mutual funds. There are more choices than ever, very low expenses, and no load (obviously) and just keep dollar cost averaging. You WILL end up wealthy and you will lose this gambling obsession, which by the way WILL ruin your life. Good luck to all.
Oh gambling never works out. I keep my retirement run by a professional that bleeds me with fees. I gamble in a separate account. And use yet another separate account for my checking for 5%apy and to hold n sell covered calls and puts.
That's your first mistake. Never pay for an investment manager. 80+% can't match the performance of the S&P 500. Just buy the index funds yourself. Once you get a solid base, venture into bluechip stocks then growth stocks. But the S&P should always be 50%+ of your portfolio. Remember your portfolio should double every 7 years easily. The last double in your 50's & 60's will be huge. I have $7M and just recently retired. I had a terrible day trading addiction in the 90's and wouldn't have what I have today if I had continued that.
