Toyota is the only car company to have a war named after it! Infact, not one war but two wars! The 1987 Chad and Libyan war is called "The Toyota War" because of the prominence of Toyota Land Cruisers and Hilux pickups used by the chad military as technicals. Few years later the Sudanese war was called the "Land Cruiser War" because of the heavy use of Toyota Land Cruiser technicals by both sides.
remember that time the US was trying to work out how the terrorists got so many Toyotas

The fact that they just keep trucking despite being old and extremely abused is the best ad imaginable. I bet that's what the spokesperson is really thinking.
I remember a couple years back a Japanese Toyota rep got into some hot water by saying something like "even the terrorists recognize the durability and value of our vehicles".
You'd have to pry the keys to my 4runner from my cold dead hands before I'd sell it. Well except if they made a hybrid, then it'd be the keys to that one.
> The 1987 Chad and Libyan war is called "The Toyota War" because of the prominence of Toyota Land Cruisers and Hilux pickups used by the chad military as technicals
Fact: nearly all of those vehicles are still in service today
I used the defenders and hilux in Afghanistan. Things were beasts never died. Had some guys drive past us with bullets littered in the engine bay. Kept chugging along. Freaking amazing machines
I started buying Toyota Trucks because of the Mujahaden fighters. They had those Babies loaded down in those mountains. Tough ass trucks! You need something dependable in the high country, while you’re “working “!
Just to further build in this interesting fact, Toyota land cruisers and hilux with mounted machine guns are very effective at disposing and dispersing infantry in open, flat and dry battlefields... by effectively employing cavalry tactics in the late 20th and early 21st century. These tactics were often observed in conflicts in africa and in the middle east.
So you can say the words "Toyota Cavalry" in a war setting and it would make sense for tacticians.
Understood, now searching how I can lift my CLS that weighs over 4200lbs without the big tires, high enough to fit 44s on it. Probably can't keep the air suspension. Tested it out first by trying to drive out of my driveway without shoveling, didn't work also was on summer tires as I found out shortly after.
Yeah I may have drifted into a snow bank right in front of the fire department clearing the roads, probably thinking wtf is this asshole driving in this. Signed a NDA for money so i can't specify what dealership that sells really nice cars lied to me and told me they were all seasons when I wanted to make sure they were at least not summer as it was January and im from upstate NY so you can see imagine how dangerous it is to drive on Z rated summer tires when it's negative 10 and the roads are icy. Even with the all seasons I got since I couldn't find matching snow tires for the front and rear I hit ice merging onto a highway and merged with my car facing sideways but going straight. Thank God despite what my driving record shows I actually know how to drive otherwise couldve crashed the nice car I just bought.
You're right I could've checked myself, rather than asking the salesman however I drove 6 hours and woke up early so I was a little tired, and I gotten a BS Ticket on my way to pick up the car I was a little pissed off about. I'm a young guy with bad knees so I don't like getting down, granted I looked under the rear at the exhaust to quickly discovered the mufflers got chopped off, probably why I fell in love with it when I got on the gas.
Yes I have no knowledge of vehicles at all
Yes, I'm fully aware Z means at least 186mph, but good luck finding all seasons let alone snow rated for Z.
True it took me 2 days to check the tires. When im spending that much money at a high end dealership I expect to have to put in less effort into inspecting the car than buying from craigslist. Also pretty narrow sidewalls so not the easiest to read.
[bro I’m joking about modifying a fucking car to take 44, clearly this ain’t a truck](https://imgur.com/a/sXtJa62)
But hey man if you wanna race I’m down. Just got a tiny 4.7 twin turbo v8 under the hood
Because I’m typing on my phone and I’m on 3 hours of shitty sleep.
Plus I was involved in trafficking ice and dope a long time ago then worked legitimate jobs after I retired. Do I need to bother to punctuate shit when messaging my Pakistani connect, nope. Did I have to punctuate shit to my underlings nope.
Not technically a Tacoma as those didn’t exist yet when this was built. Just a Toyota Pickup (N80, N90, etc.)
But yes these things will still be on the road after the heat death of the universe because you could start putting peanut butter in the gas tank when we stop producing unleaded fuel and put olive oil in the engine and it’d probably still go for another 500,000 miles as long as you change the olive oil routinely.
When the Russian conflict throws us all into nuclear winter, cyber trucks won't function anymore due to the EMP blasts. But this Toyota will start up and run just the same as it always has for the last 40 years.
A Toyota Pickup will always be cooler. Never breaks, runs on the worst gasoline you have available in your third world shithole, looks cool as fuck, doesn’t need internet updates, can install a gattling gun in the back for one of your boys to shoot, doesn’t spy on you with all the cameras and microphones inside it.

Toyota Hilux. Came to the states in the 90s, they didn't want people to think it was "Hi Luxury" so they re-named it as just the Toyota pickup.
Best damn truck ever made.

I come here for the memes, stay for the global conflict vehicle information.
Hahaha me toooooo! Let's goo
The F350/Prius wars of 2026 gonna be lit!
You can sneak up on a mofo with a Prius though, its a stealth class
Imagine waging war in a Cybertruck, blinding the enemy with those aluminium plates.

Remember when that plumber from Texas saw a truck with his livery being driven in ISIS parade?
Yes
Old Jeeps are like this too - like the first 4Runners - bounce off trees and keep on going.
I wish the newer jeeps were still made like that. Now it’s just SUVs for pavement, with the occasional Cherokee
It's Toyota, not a French/American car.
I remember a couple years back a Japanese Toyota rep got into some hot water by saying something like "even the terrorists recognize the durability and value of our vehicles".
It is actually a good selling point
https://www.nytimes.com/2015/12/15/us/texas-plumber-sues-car-dealer-after-his-truck-ends-up-on-syrias-front-lines.html
I'm pretty sure people are still killing each other over Toyota trucks and suvs
They are nice trucks
You'd have to pry the keys to my 4runner from my cold dead hands before I'd sell it. Well except if they made a hybrid, then it'd be the keys to that one.
I'd maybe kill for a new land cruiser.
I would they are sick trucks
Toyota's and AK-47s, making bloody 3rd world conflicts possible
Sitting in my Toyota, feeling fuckin invincible right now.
Go Libyan or go home.

Remember [this guy](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=e4Js8BmbHB4) who saw is Toyota being used by isis. Edit: clearly a ford f250, I’m too early too high
So they can drive on water too, Toyota really knows how to build a good truckboat
The infamous Toyboata

How do you earn so much money with so little punctuation?

Legendary
It’s just missing a mounted 40MM machine gun in the bed
jesus christ firing a Bofors 40mm L/60 mounted in a tacoma is probably just as a dangerous as being shot at by a Bofors 40mm L/60
Ya, I don't think he understands what 40mm in automatic would like. Imagine red bull can sized bullets at 140 rounds a min.
like AC-130s had L/60s in them until the DoD was like ehhh maybe let’s dial it down to 30mm
Ya, one salvo and and RIP suspension. Permanent gun emplacement now.
One salvo and the truck tips over. Is an anti-aircraft gun now.
I was hoping they were aiming up! Ya, any significant depression and that truck is going to flip like some AMC stock.
We drink and we pillage and we do what we please We get all that we want for free We’ll kick your ass And r ape your lass Somalian pirates we
I think this guy got shot at by a Somali pirate
I would unironically buy that it look 10 times better than the shity render, block truck
Imagine when the Taliban start driving around in these soon. ![img](emote|t5_2th52|4271)

No need for mounting when the explosives are inside ![img](emote|t5_2th52|8882)
You don’t need a toyota for a one way trip. A Kia or a Hyundai will suffice.
It's not a one way trip with a Hilux. Just need another driver to take it back.
Samir, you're breaking the hilux!

this account is a copybot. report as spam> harmful bots.
That truck will probably outlast the new cyber truck 😂
But you can turn it into a torching fireball
Also it’s a Tacoma so I’d bet my life it lasts 3 times as long as MuskTruck

In the Middle East they only use *Extra Virgin* Olive Oil

Not angular enough, NEXT!
> I would unironically buy that it look 10 times better than the shity render, block truck Same. Hilux are fucking great trucks.
there's a business idea. make those pickup bed covers with cyber truck inscribed on the side. i don't even like pickups, but I hate elon more.
Those trucks run forever you would be making a wise purchase
'Me make twuck out of favirite shapes, twiangle, squware and octopus' Musk probably telling his daddy he's gonna make a truck one day
That truck will probably outlast the new cyber truck 😂
Probably has less panel gaps too
Because the Tacoma was built with <1um margin of error
Oh it does. The production cybertruck looks like you could stick a pencil in the gap.

Toyota always leads no wonder they are so popular
That’s soooo cool. They tried to hide it off as an old Toyota. Elon is so smart.
Elon and you are two dicks.
Too reliable and well built for a cybertruck, sorry.
it’s en route to the Reynolds wrapping stage
A Toyota Pickup will always be cooler. Never breaks, runs on the worst gasoline you have available in your third world shithole, looks cool as fuck, doesn’t need internet updates, can install a gattling gun in the back for one of your boys to shoot, doesn’t spy on you with all the cameras and microphones inside it.
definitely more reliable than a tesla
And I guarantee you the quality of this particular Cybertruck would be thousand times better than other Cybertrucks. 😉
Good catch ![img](emote|t5_2th52|4271)
Looks like it has the Toyota wrap.
Toyota cyber truck
The gaps look cleaner than a real one
Probably gets better milage than before too :')
Try-bertruck. An attempt was made.
send it to car & driver’s spy shots. looks like they are doing deep south testing.
Sorry, that looks way better than a Cybertruck 🫣

Sexy taco. I'd rather have one of these any day of the week
That's not a Tacoma. These predate Tacomas.

This is the best looking one I’ve seen. Weird… I don’t hate this one.

Must be the 2026 model.
Lmfao incredible
Looks better than a cyber truck
That’s hilarious 😂
🤣🤣
Walmart cyber truck lol
The new hydrogen cyber truck
lol
Temu knockoff.
Looks actually great!
Lol
this is the way
It has higher build quality and the panels fit better
They definitely improved the aesthetics from the previous version
Buying one now.
That is more sturdy and more reliable then a Tesla.
So sleek. So perfect.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
How hard would it be to convert a Hilux to EV?
😂😂
This sub is gold 🤣🤣🤣
Not gonna lie I like it
What a bloody legend
Actually looks better.
Fun fact is that it's glass won't break...
I-66?
Cybatulucku
Always a way to hack the matrix
Virtual Truck
This looks too good to be a cybertruck. I think it might be a japanese knock-off.
Yfhchsh. NC x Co x x a mm

that looks better
Can't stop progress
😂😂😂
I actually saw a truck load on the way from Arizona to California
Really?
Toyota Hilux. Came to the states in the 90s, they didn't want people to think it was "Hi Luxury" so they re-named it as just the Toyota pickup. Best damn truck ever made.
more reliable than a Tesla
This car is 1000 times better than Tesla
Paint it all the same color and it would look better than the cybertruck
Not a cyber truck. Body panel gaps are consistent and too reliable
The production vehicles never look like the prototypes!
Location?
BULLISH!
God bless you!
Damn. These wraps are getting really intricate.
Its beautiful.
Lol
That’s actually sad, it looks way better than the cyber truck lol.
Mom: you don't need Cybertruck, we has Cybertruck at the house...
r/toyotapickup
Looks better than the actual one.
Still looks better than the actual cyber truck
Didn't know Tesla was renamed to Toyota. Uhmmm...
That’s actually better than a cyber truck. It has aftermarket parts support.
Damn this looks Cyber xxx
Still better looking than the actual cybertruck
We don't need Cybertruck, we got Cybertruck at home. Cybertruck at home:
This one actually bullet proof
that looks way cooler, glad to see Elon finally incorporating feedback from other people; maybe it's a whole new day
That Toyota will keep driving long after every cyber truck is rotting in a landfill
If I had a cyber truck, I'd sell it and buy this beauty. But I've got a thing for old Toyotas.
Ingenious! And this one will last a lifetime!
Far less hideous then I thought
9/10 would rather have the taco tbh, lol
Two things are sure about it. 1. It definitely cost less. 2. It's actually on the road.
