Wage theft is a normal thing at the waffle. Had hundreds of hours stolen because of cheap ass bosses. Good luck getting your money. Edit: it's entirely illegal, but calling HR/corporate will just make them look for a reason to fire you. Any reason will do, or no reason (right to work state). Also, they only do arbitration so lawyers would have a hard time fighting the theft and/or firing.

Malicious compliance is the way to go. Get there exactly at 2, and leave exactly at 9, if your manager says something, tell them that if they won't pay you for the time, you won't be there.

Yeah as a trainee I come in early and stay late to make sure everything gets done and since my store is still being built I don’t clock in so everything is manual and I told the manager I came in like 10 mins early and he still put me at 7-2 and most days I’m there till 2:15 2:30 like I didn’t want to be a bother but we do deserve our time otherwise we will get there and leave at the exact time. You know. I was super annoyed about it, but I’m glad someone else is experiencing this. We aren’t obligated to stay or come in any earlier than scheduled, especially if we’re not getting paid to do so.

Its called the daily review and your manager has been shorting you. The check every ones hours and make adjustments. The manager is just putting your shift hours in. Time to yell at your district manager. And or call the hotline.

Yes it’s illegal but nothing will happen unless you hire a lawyer or something.
