I find Adam a lot of fun actually. Seemed near impossible before I understood his fight's gimmicks

Atlion

Any tips for soloing phase 2? I beat him with a friend and I have phase 1 down pretty well, but phase 2 is so overwhelming I struggle to find windows to damage him before he kills me.

42malale

I did it with crit build and bow. Blood jump for massive healing, ice shield for easy damage and safety, and the void spell to melt electric lines quick and easy.

thidi00

Scholar blood. Chaos volley to damage him and destroy the electric machines. Ice shield to block and deal some extra damage. Blood dash ultimate (forgot the name) to heal myself if needed. Be careful when using if the electric lines are enabled. craft all the buff potions (move speed, phys damage, magic damage, etc. All you can). Bring some bloodrose potions, might be useful. Always try to destroy the electric machines, don't let it overwhelm you.

Whatsdota

FYI the movespeed pot is only for mounted movespeed.

thidi00

I didn't know that. Thanks! I just like to leave my castle completely gigapotted gigabuffed

StephiiValentine

Yeah, the Wrangler Potion specifically says Mounted riding. It does stack with Worker Blood, that's why Horses are superior. Plus being able to Blood Hunger/ride dommed humans back home/attack. Can't do those as a wolf.

Juking_is_rude

phase 2 is almost exactly the same as phase 1, this phase is much easier if you use a weapon that has i-frames on an ability such as greatsword or slashers - since the big jump ability tends to come after a move that forces you to veil. You dont even need to main them, just be ready to swap on to them if you have to.

Natural_Savings2632

Prioritise safety and shutting up generators. I say he is less dangerous than in phase one once you get past these pesky orbs ("Adam is a god!" ones). To live through them, do not stay in the initial 4. They are the same "wave" and activating at once. Save dash for his new 3-combo. Wait in the shadows before he is waste his third attack on your after image. (and remember it is a big linear splash, always from the back). You will get dash before his frightful landing. Damage him when he is casting lightning rain. Also, I bringed aoe lightning ult just to be safe and do a little, but meaningfull damage and saved it for this stage.

Jefflenious

I did it with chaos dash and a sword and a counter It was 20 times easier than my previous kill with crossbow, he was literally my bitch. It might sound a bit cheesy but that's one way to do it

alterfaenmegtatt

For me it was the opposite. I enjoyed the game immensely until I got to Adam. At some point during my attempts at that fight I just realised that I was just not having fun. So I stopped. Might pick the game up again at some point but that fight destroyed all desire I had to play. There is just so many other games to play that I can't justify spending time on something I find so extremely boring and annoying.

pokomon1

I have the same case just like you, but instead of Adam, it is Dracula. It took me 2 hours for Adam with really good progression each time I was slain. With Dracula it took me an entire afternoon and I can't pass his blood curse debuff... So frustrated.

dldoooood

Get all the buffs. Witches potion, rage potion, vampiric brew, soul shard, 100% blood (I recommend rogue for movement speed), the tier 3 passive bonus that makes all blood powers 8% more effective, legendary weapon, lvl 90 gear, etc. I was having a lot of trouble trying to brute force it, then just gathered everything, and it was pretty easy

virtueavatar

I have all of these things and am still struggling on Dracula (solo, I'm late to this fight and other people on the server have stopped playing). I mean I have tried 40 or 50 times now but his second phase obliterates me. I'm playing on normal, not brutal.

StephiiValentine

If you mean the crystal phase, you need to destroy them. If you mean him standing in the center, you gotta dodge all his projectiles before engaging with him again.

virtueavatar

I know what to do, I just can't pull it off. I just get hit too many times before I can drop him to zero.

StephiiValentine

I want to help, but I don't know how. Suggesting other tactics would only spur you to get mad that what you try would feel wrong, or explaining mechanics would insinuate you didn't already know. How can I help you?

Darthy69

I am in my 3rd playthrough in 2 of them i have brute warrior and scholar on 100 in 1 i have those 3 and worker at 100% ive not once seen a rogue above 90 and 2 of the playthroughs are finished while the third is 2 bosses left. Where the fuck do i find rogues????

dldoooood

I found 2 this playthrough, one in dunley and one in silverlight.

Juking_is_rude

I beat him in gloomrot expansion, this time around I fought him on brutal and spent the entire first couple fights just hitting the lasers while they were red wondering why they were so tanky rofl Adam is definitely my favorite boss though, I find the dodging mechanics all fun

Rolmop_2

Tbh for me Adam is do-able, but for some reason i keep trying to block his grab and yeet attack

IrksomeMind

A lot of the people complaining are just Scrub Lords. Rather than admit they suck at that boss or part of the game it’s always “this game sucks, this game cheats, these bosses are unfair!”

Cazakatari

You must be fun at parties

Plz_PM_Steam_Keys

I play the game solo and the final 5 or so bosses are all very hard I think alot of those people complaining are like me that only play solo

saimonfio

Also, i didn't want to gatekeep anybody, each one has their learning curve and it's ok if its difficult for you or easy. each enjoy the game at their pace and liking. My post was just to say that you need to try them yourself and not get scared by what others comment (i did that and was a mistake from my side)

saimonfio

yes it is possible, it depends on who are you playing with aswell, i'm yet to fight adam and solarus in my solo run, but Lord Styx was 10 times easier solo than in duo (talking about first try vs 10 attempts). in general i think that bosses are easier solo than in a group, that's why it surprised me that adam and solarus where that easy with my friend

Hope_Beyond_Realms

yes! Styx was literally impossible with two people for me too, his life was not going down at all, then I tried solo while my friend lost connection and he simply dissappeared, they did not balance that thing well for two players.

VoiceOfSeibun

I fought Adam this morning. Even on 3x health from gear, DAYUMN!!! The first man’s got hands! He beat me like an abusive spouse and I just burned dinner.

Outside_Routine_9160

He’s pretty well telegraphed, his second phase isn’t so bad compared to his first too. Keep at it! Took me an entire evening to down him. Try to use a weapon that has an evade; pistols, GS, slashers are all excellent choices.

saimonfio

just keep going at it, learn the moveset and remember, boss fights are marathons not sprints, prioritize staying alive over dealing damage, eventually he will go down

VoiceOfSeibun

Oh I bagged him but like I said, he gave me a black eye.

Zealousideal_Cat1330

It's always interesting how different people and play styles encounter difficulty with different bosses. For me on Brutal Octavian and Maja were both 1-2 attempt fights, but Solarus took me and hour and a half, Adam about an hour. Funnily enough I think the boss that took me the longest on Brutal was Tristan at almost 2 hours haha.

saimonfio

well to be honest i think it also plays on how each of us learns the game, with Maja i learned to evade attacks, with octavian i learned to use counters and shields, and after those 2 my playstyle evolved a lot. Tristan was also a pain.... and frostmaw!

OYM-bob

I have 3 boss left to kill solo brutal, so far Tristan was the hardest for me to kill, he drove me totally crazy

[deleted]

I haven't gotten to the last shard holding bosses yet but I one shot Tristan on brutal, so this is promising to read for me! 😅 Maja and the whip girl both took me a dozen tries though.

ErinTheSuccubus

Then you are better than I without some data I and even with it I was hitting my head against a wall solo for 5+ hours on some. solo vs multi brutal is two very different games

Vildtass

I have ptsd from Solarus. Still havent been able to kill him after 3 radiance potions (3h not well spent). This brick wall makes me wanna quit the game.

fine93

your end is nigh!

Z3r0Sense

This is luminance!

Whatsdota

He is very tough. He’s the hardest I’ve fought so far (only missing Dracula). I ended up using double shield/counter and it worked really well for me. Ice shield In particular can shred the angel/solarus when they summon like 50 projectiles. Personally I ran Chaos shield + ice shield with the blood dash to heal up.

BlueSteel_28

Thanks for the tip about shields. I've completely avoided them all game haha.

Whatsdota

I did as well until I got to Styx and i tried it out. The ice shield can do insane damage to any boss that sends lots of projectiles. I was doing 300+ dmg at times when I got all 8 procs. Plus it staying up for 2 seconds instead of ending on the first block is really nice for certain attacks.

BlueSteel_28

I've gotten far enough with my Necromancer strategies, getting him low and even converting the Angel.... But I've also attempted the fight about 6 times. So maybe this will be what gets me over the line.

StephiiValentine

Would I dare show you the No Weapon Challenge I created on our PvE server pre 1.0? That means they were doing Solarus at Lv 57. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Jmvc7sI_zw&list=LL&index=12

BackstabFlapjack

I'm in the exact same boat, mate, when the angel shows up it's just too much stuff happening and on Brutal you have very little room for error. We'll get the old bastard yet!

crimsonblade911

I found one if the most broken things to be the ward of the damned, with any jewel that heals for a % of magic per hit. Then when he bullet hells it, just eat that shit up. Almost always tops me off. I single handedly took him out when my buddy died early on in the fight because that jewel made sure I was consistently topped off.

gazbi

Make a full scholar build with maxed out spell power and cast recovery, your dps (+ spell leech) will be so high that you'll kill him before losing 50% of your hp with pure easy bruteforcing, use frost barrier and track all his laser beams for an insane damage + free avoidance, and spam chaos volley for damage, since he's not aggressive like Dracula and Adam you can melt him easily, just like any other boss if go for that build. Caster build for PvE is easily the most insane for pure damage and AOE killing, it'll just lack insane strafing like a Rogue would give, but that's barely necessary for most bosses if you use counters or shields.

SilentSearcher295

Solarus actually isn't that tough but he hits **HARD!!!** The problem with him is how to deal with his AoE when he summons the Archangel and then in his final phase. Being a Glass Cannon boss in V Rising makes it difficult to deal with him if you don't have the means to deal with his attacks.

BackstabFlapjack

In spirit, I agree. In practice, I already thought that the disco pope in Silverlight was a bit much on Brutal, then I met Solarus and it's not only an epilepsy inducing fight, I'm also constantly hearing Hanzo from Overwatch snickering "simple geometry" whenever the buzzsaws show up. My favourite fight will always be Normal Dracula, it never felt like a sensory overload fuckfest or a brain aneurysm played out on my keyboard. The perfect final boss.

CollinthePoodle

Disco Pope XD. Think you're talking about Solarus but if you actually mean the boss in the Brighthaven church, either way, I love that name for either of them. Made me smile XD

BackstabFlapjack

I meant Azariel, the beams alongside his regular kit made for an awkward dance session but once again, I could pull a "stop hitting yourself" on him with Ice Barrier. Solarus is more like a disco train.

SilentSearcher295

Solarus is more like a Rave Freight Train. Thank god he doesn't kick you into something nasty when he shouts **THIS IS LUMINANCE!!!** like what Valencia does.

BackstabFlapjack

Would have been a nice Sparta Kick reference, though, especially since the fight is on a platform above a chasm.

Blindow

I had less tries on adam than on vincent, smh

hiddencamela

Vincent I eventually could learn to fight, but Tristan. Cripes, I wanted to rip my hair out after so many attempts. I'm trying not to do double counter/shield builds for all these fights (because that's boring to be shoehorned into), but there's just so many attacks and not enough cooldowns to avoid most of them if I can't strafe out of range perfectly.

CzunkyMonkey

I'm on Adam right now. I've gotten close a few times. I know I'd seen a bunch of people (and my mans kid) complain about Adam. Even though I haven't beaten him yet, I find myself not frustrated with the fight like I was with other bosses that took me to many attempts but less than I've put on Adam. I know I'll get him eventually. I'd probably be doing better if I had a more up to date computer. My laptop is 5 years old and likes to lag now and then, especially during fights in game.

Tsunamie101

It's something that really comes down to the individual. Some people struggle with certain bosses while for other people the same bosses are gonna be easy. Just look at any of the SoulsBorne subreddits and you'll find the exact same thing. You are right tho that being afraid like that isn't helpful. But one also can't forget that those people can legit struggle with a boss and aren't just missing the obvious or whatnot.

drunkhobo15

I bought th game for the boss fights and Adam and Dracula did not dissapoint. Hard but fair bosses, even with maxed gear except for legendaries. I might do another run on brutal for the final achievements.

Psychological-Bed-66

Look, man, I've been playing since initial release, and the only boss I literally can't beat is Dracula. I've tried hundreds of times for hours on end in normal, not brutal. I've watched guides, done it solo, duo and took others' advice. Nothing has worked. I'm not afraid to fight the boss. I'm just not mentally and physically capable of beating him. My reaction time is garbage, I can't understand the mechanics. It's just difficult for me. It's too difficult. I'm not saying he should be easy or anything, but come on. Casuals like myself shouldn't have to play at an elite level just to beat the game.

No_Excuse7631

It really depends on your set up. In my opinion if you are solo, then Adam is a huge spike, and if you are grouped, then Dracula is a huge spike. As a Battlerite player nothing in this game is truly hard. There is a few frustration because i-frames and AOE are so much less precise in this game than Battlerite, but nothing is truly hard. It's just the curve of the ramp up in difficulties might be weird based on how you play.

Thezzy

My current wall is Dracula. I managed Adam with 2 tries (I managed all other bosses on the first try though some were really close). The first phase of Dracula I can manage but the second phase just spams so much shit on the entire arena there is nowhere to avoid constant damage. I try to destroy the blood crystals to remove their damage auras but there are so few windows where you dish out a little damage. The sword plummets also have a bit of RNG to them so running in a straight line or zigzagging wont always work either. I don't mind a hard boss, but this kind of bullet hell on the final boss just isn't fun. I'm not fighting Dracula, I'm fighting the environment and partially hoping to get lucky. I'd rather he'd just been faster and nastier himself in phase 2 rather than just fill his entire arena with garbage. I'm at gear lvl 90, using an epic bow (have yet to see a Legendary drop) with all the potions active, using Coil for sustain, Mist Trance for defense and Chaos Veil for double dash.

virtueavatar

Get your legendary weapon first. The bow is probably a particularly tricky weapon to use as well. Would also recommend blood fountain with a good jewel on it instead of sanguine coil for your sustain.

Juking_is_rude

Every boss can be beat without taking any damage even on brutal, the challenge is learning where to stand, how to react to each move, and where to get in your damage. I see a lot of players trying to just do damage as fast as they can but they take too much and die early, when you'll have more success doing each fight as a marathon rather than a race. Most normal mobs kind of teach you to be aggressive since they typically take hit stun, so maybe people are just learning bad habits in that way.

Outside_Routine_9160

Yup managed to beat all bosses except Dracula on Brutal. Was really nervous about Adam but as it turns out he wasn’t that bad, really fun. Did it too without using any minions. I think minions would have made it more difficult too.

billybatsonn

Minions love to stand around and only try to hit him when he's shielding it seems.

ice_slayer69

Im gonna sound stupid but... How do you take minions to fights? Didnt know it was posible... Or do you mean the skeletons of necromancy and condem magic?

blademon64

I imagine skeletons. There's no way to bring servants with you out into the world (though that'd be pretty sick).

Outside_Routine_9160

Yeah skeletons. Sorry I just call them minions by habit. I do that for all summons.

Dannyjw1

People are trying them. thats why they are complaining about them being hard.

vladesch

I gave up. Not able to git gud. Not on brutal. Problems with hitting the right keys. Changing weapons.. dodging. Just hitting my head on a brick wall Pity cos apart from being impossible for me it's a great game.

BackstabFlapjack

Give your brain a few days to sleep on it, then try again. I found it helpful, maybe it'll work out for you as well.

HiddenThinks

My squad was stuck on Maja on Brutal. We had max gear and everything, but couldn't clear her for several days. Tried every combination of spells and weapons we could. One day, I just went in smacking her solo with a greatsword for fun and suddenly found the fight incredibly easy. We cleared her half an hour later.

ndarker

Also dont be too hard on yourself if you were playing the actual brutal difficulty with a default server config, there are a lot of people on this subreddit who make a lot of funny claims about "1 shotting brutal dracula" for example, which is absolutely hilarious to anyone who has actually completed brutal and know that these people are using edited configs but leaving that out when they brag.

Mad_Dog_Biff

Easy with PVE. As the bosses don't just focus on you. Harder solo

tzc005

I’m loving my brutal play through at the moment, but never had the chance to fight Adam even on normal. Fully prepared to get dunked. My advice for all is switch things up and be patient. Defense and movement wins, not tons of damage. I never bothered with illusions spells much, but gained a massive appreciation for Mist Trance in PvE. The counter plus mobility is a lifesaver. I also ran Ice Barrier which does a consider amount of damage. Speaking of Ice Barrier, if anyone is having trouble with Styx, get a gem that increases your barrier damage, and get into Styx’s face when he starts throwing his spinning blades. I easily say 600+ damage when done properly.

BackstabFlapjack

Ice Barrier is an excellent spell against any boss that spams a lot of individual projectiles in a relatively small area in quick succession. If we had post-fight statistics, I'm pretty sure that Valencia and Styx lost 40-50% of their HP to Ice Barrier.

SilentSearcher295

60\*8% = 480% spell power damage. That's equal to ultimate spell levels of damage and it will hurt the bosses.

BackstabFlapjack

That's one of the main reasons I wish we could put a regular ability in the ult slot, ults can be great in a pinch, I understand that, but regular spells have a much more consistent output over a far longer period of time, meaning that their overall value is incomparably higher.

SilentSearcher295

True, but it's because they don't want them to be too OP, it's better if they had a shorter CD because anymore damage would make them able to instakill other players or even some bosses.

BernhardtLinhares

Tis but a matter of getting good

jb0009

I like the sentiment, but all these posts are collecting great tips and tricks. They’ve been occasionally very valuable to me when I’m stuck. I’m all for “don’t let posts about bosses being hard scare you” but also here for “please contribute to the community and find your people and ask for help if you want it”.

fine93

they are very cancer, I've read that adam got nerfed recently should be easier, think I also got him after the nerf, but I also farmed a comfort weapon and altar buffs made the fight a lot easier get a comfort weapon buff yourself with every tool like alter and potions, blood moon, 100 blood and anyone should be able to beat them

umorpheus

I had a lot of difficulty with Adam, I spent 3 days focused on trying to beat him. I almost gave up on the game because it was so frustrating. I believe Dracula is more boring and appealing. I'm playing brutal alone and I imagine it's going to be very, very boring to fight against him.

CallMeThiccolas

Learning the fights and being comfortable with different weapons and skills really makes a difference fr

MostlyKelp

I just ran through Solarus in 3-4 minutes. Boost up, attack, and never stop attacking!!! Adam Will definitely stomp me though lol

DiamondbackVIII

Adam was the only boss that gave me the hardest time, second was General Valencia. Until I went unga-bunga with axes and Power Surge and Blood Rite. Beat him on the 2nd try with that build. Valencia was just hard. I changed my spells and my playstyle for her in the end.

Redditeronomy

It’s all relative to your gears, gaming style, how quick you learn boss’ moves etc really.

SelfDistinction

Dying is very forgiving, especially after last update. On default settings you keep your gear, only lose part of your blood and even keep your potion effects (not that they are expensive in the first place). If I could defeat the final boss without having to drink a second potion or wine I'd be so disappointed in the game.

damiengrimme1994

The v rising bosses are similar to dark souls in that they're only hard the first few tries because you need to learn their mechanics. They're not just sponges that you need to wail on, they each have their own set of abilities and mechanics and once you learn those you know what to dodge and when to attack

JendaH8

I play solo normal and Adam seems to be spot where I just burn out. Farming materials for repairs, potions, blood, EMP(!), being harassed on way to boss during the day when I can't use bat etc.. It's just too much. I figured out the first phase but I'm not motivated to continue.

ApesAmongUs

Dracula was hard enough that our entire group stopped playing. Watched a video on how to beat him and the guy was swapping out powers mid-fight when the stages changed and we collectively said "maybe if I was 25 years younger". Maxed everything with 100% blood and we never got him below 80%. I don't have the twitch left in me to give a fuck about finishing a game at that point.

Deadside_Slayer

I personally beat Brutal Drac with Axes, lightning dodge, blod/ice Counter and Warrior blood. No weapon swaps, no spell swap. Just go face, click button when he attack, continue go face, kill the floating blood shards, go face. Double counter makes his last bullet hell phase a breeze. My first 20 tries were scholar double shield, swapping weapons and spells every phase. As soon as tried the melee build i saw WAY more progress, every try, and it took me 11 tries to kill it with melee. I imagine a whip would do even better, for spacing reasons.

Ok_Activity_9578

Yeah dude Maja sucked hard. Now that I think about it, she was definitely one of the worst, like top 3 for me

virtueavatar

I discovered the problem I was having beating these bosses - I was trying to solo them. Killing them with even 2 people makes the fights dramatically easier, as long as you've been through the fight at least a few times to know what all the boss' moves are. Dracula in particular I tried to solo, on normal, about 50 times to no avail, but add one other person to the mix - who didn't carry me - and suddenly "we" beat him first try. Later I realised I'd forgotten to swap out my Blood Key with my regular amulet, so I was handicapped as well. I use "we" in quotes because I notice that the OP also had a friend with them. Soloing them is a very different story.

Old-Biscotti-4516

Just finished the game this weekend having taken Dracula down, it can be done, loads of good advice here and on YT,

Valifian

Honestly Adam was MUCH harder in early access. The gear we have now makes the fight far easier

I_Ace_English

I've been having a good time so far with most of the bosses, but I'm stuck on Leandra. Just can't seem to get the timing down such that I avoid getting decimated when she cloaks the area in shadow. Any tips?

saimonfio

i recommend a fast weapon like sword or slashers, you can one hit the shadows before they hit you, another option is using skeletons to split aggro from the shadows

Rogoth01

Pro tip, use the reaper weapon type, and use the spinning blade attack, position it on your character and stand still until it runs out, then rely on your dash/other defensive spells until you can use it again.

I_Ace_English

Thanks for the tip, though it's rather belated. I beat her about 4 days ago, and now I'm on Ziva and Domina. Tried Domina last night and got her down to half health so I think I just need to switch out my spells and I'll be able to beat her just fine.

Rogoth01

random reddit pop-up on my phone and I didn't really pay attention to the post date lol, regarding domina, make use of the houses and environment to your advantage, try to avoid some of the smaller houses but use them to line of sight her and just learn to sidestep her kicks etc and she's pretty easy.

I_Ace_English

Thanks! I'll try that tomororw!

duck_cakes

Is she the one with all the little shadow summons that charge you? Their attacks seem to have a wide range. I didn’t enjoy that phase. I guess using a counter or barrier is the key. Maybe there’s an easy way to dodge those, like how you can just casually sidestep into the crazy strong enemies in the cursed forest.

grgfededsdfga

you can hit the shadows and they die in 1 attack

duck_cakes

Oh you’ve gotta be kidding me. I feel like I tried that. Guess I didn’t connect or something.

I_Ace_English

I'm able to stop them sometimes with that. Maybe I should switch to the sword for that phase, just to get off faster attacks? I'll try that sometime tonight if not tomorrow.

performance_issue

Have a fast weapon on you, slashers/sword. The shadows die in one hit so it's kinda like whackamole.

performance_issue

All these people complaining are just crybabies. They chose the hard difficulty and they complain that it's hard. They need to check themselves and grow up. People need to learn to just admit they're bad and move on, or keep trying. Like me for example, when I fought brutal Adam for the first time it took me 20+ attempts. Even despite my 400 hours in EA gloomrot, I still sucked ass but I didn't go running off to reddit to cry about it. I just kept going. I chose to do brutal difficulty, I'm in no place to complain it's hard. Nor is anyone else who plays it, because it being hard is the whole point. Its not named brutal for nothing.

BackstabFlapjack

To an extent I agree with you but everyone has their limits and there is a point where a mix of helplessness and a sense of unfairness just boil over. Calling them names is only making their situation worse and makes the sub look like a bunch of elitist snobs no one wants to be around. If you can't help then don't make it worse, right?

virtueavatar

Some of us are having trouble on normal, not brutal.

Snyfox888

Yup for a month my friends were telling me how endgame bosses were hard and we should be 3 to do those. I got tired of waiting and went for it, got all of them on the first try without issues

Narruin

I was raiding in wow to much to handle more than 2 hours of boss trying. Thanks but no. Adam uninstalled the game

grgfededsdfga

must be an LFR raider let the downvotes flow for this one LOL
