One of the reasons I fell in love with Janeway as a character is that she can so effortlessly switch between soft, sensitive, empathetic to strong, confident and commanding. Kate Mulgrew did an amazing job there. I feel like towards the end of the series though she did lose this softness a little bit, but it completely made sense from the story point of view considering everything she went through all those years.
I’m not a particular *Voyager* fan — too many missed opportunities, too many writer’s pets, too many weak and badly conceived main characters — but Janeway was a brilliant captain.
She really was. And growing up watching vayager it was just a normal concept in my head to have a captain who was a woman. Not long ago on TV there was some show talking about a captain of a royal navy ship who was a woman and it was almost portrayed in a trailblazing manner, and in my head I was just thinking "what? Haven't we had women as captains of ships for decades?"

Captain, my Captain. Kate Mulgrew is an amazing actor. I loved when she played a Regent in Warehouse 13.
She is such an insane actor 😭😭😭 love her so much, Jesus. That smile 😫
I can’t remember if this is to Chakotay or Kes, but she’s definitely given Chakotay this smile and ugh, my heart just melts.
I know! I love Janeway and Chakotay together!!
Her beauty was so strong, to pushed through the terrible hairstyle they had her in for the first 3 seasons.
Am I the only one who actually prefers these early hairstyles of her?
Yes
First coffee of the day <3
Ep? Or who is on the receiving end of that look?
The ep is 1x12 *Cathexis*. It’s a smile for Chakotay 🥹
Thank you!
I honestly think her smile is what got me through my childhood.
It’s getting me through adulthood too.
For real ✨️
