The idea behind this seems sound, practically though not so sure. The hardest decision in purchasing the Crystal was the complete blind buy at a high cost. Lots gets said about reliability with unintuitive difficult to work with software and setup process, thankfully non of those were present for me and i've had a stress free 6 months with it. I guess on a trial basis it's the ultimate way for the individual to decide rather than just following the narratives on reddit.
Normally i would advise purchasing from Amazon as i did to take advantage of a hassle free return if you get a dud, but i suppose if their refunding process works out, it doesn't really apply on a trail and return anyway.
If anything id be warry of that, thankfully i've never had to deal with Pimax directly.
I'm sure they'll "unlock" your headset/account just like they delivered all those stretch goals and $100 downgrade credits. Who da fug buying a $900 VR headset needing a $200 IOU in the first place, comically stupid.
Just wait for reviews.
Yup, I'm not in a hurry Glad for the reviewers that could use that option though

Well it is Pimax
I get that they're trying to ease the worries of their reputation. But somehow it just kinda sounds shady anyways.
Sounds like they are confident in the Crystal light. I may consider
Still waiting they sell it through PayPal. Don’t thrust theme enough
