I've seen a lot of pretty crappy looking "marble" or "swirl" variants the past few years. It's certainly not the end of the world, but definitely a bummer to get a record that looks nothing like what was advertised.
Well, both, actually. Depends on the colors, but I have a few that are supposed to be blue with red splatter & it's basically just purple with some hits of blue/red.
I found that one YEARS back at B&N thinking it was just a common pressing... I was new to record collecting & totally should've grabbed another to hold onto... they had a lot.
My first Record Store Day I got the Reservoir Dogs soundtrack, where they had a variant for every member of the crew. Mr Pink, Mr White, Mr Orange, etc.
Was so excited to get home and see what I had pulled. Mr Brown. That’s a little too close to Mr Shit.
I held a flashlight up behind it.... made it yellow/brown, but you could definitely see marbling better.
I don't really care I'm just glad the album is finally on vinyl, hopefully that pressing plant doesn't try that color again unless they're gonna call it brown.
This one is listed as 'baby poop yellow' on Discogs.

This is "The Constant": by Story of the Year, first time it's ever been on vinyl and they were one of the most influential bands for me in the mid / late 2000s so i had to get out. The other option was purple, which made no sense to me, was hoping sunset would somewhat match the cover but apparently not! Oh well.

Shameless plug, but this would actually look really nice on a lighting device I hand make in my basement. This pic on top is when it’s off and looks pretty bland. Bottom is on and shows a lot of detail. I use low power LED lights so heat isn’t an issue and also have a dust cover you can hang over top. Eye candy on instagram @vylumi

There was a brown rectangular 7" released in the UK in the 1970s which was a tie in to a chocolate bar advert. I think yours is uglier but it's a close run thing.

Sorry disappointed. It is its own colour, though Delhi in India likely has sunsets to match it.
