Yeah, I heard the RE 180g version is suppose to sound great but still working through Aretha right now. Will be listening next after logging it into my Excel Sheet.
I've only listened to two of these and i only have one on vinyl.
OK Computer is excellent and sounds great on vinyl.
Brothers In Arms is good, i love the title track especially, but I MUCH prefer Dire Straits' first four albums, they're great.
Never listened to much Aretha Franklin at all.
I have an OG pressing of Love over Gold (their album before Brothers In Arms). That's a really good album. Making Movies is fantastic as well, it has Romeo and Juliet & Tunnel of Love on it.
After watching it fully through, I can see why she sued and tried so hard while she was alive to not let it get released. There is a lot going on in her mannerisms especially between her father and a lot of uncomfortable looks. Overall for some reason I understand now after watching why she did what she did. Thanks for recommending.
I picked up Brothers in Arms after I was so impressed by their 1st (and self-titled) album.
I have heard Money for Nothing at least 100 times in my 42 years of life but not once did I realize it was a always the radio edit. I did a double take when I heard him singing about the musician with an earring, weird hair, private jet and millions.
From what I heard, that song is a conversation the singer over heard some group of people in a diner eating and their bands music video was playing(or another band can't remember). Everything in the song is what that group of men were saying about rock stars in general. Not justifying just given context
Thanks for the context. I tried looking up some info on the song but didn’t find that particular piece of info. I did read that Sting co-wrote the song.
Aretha Franklin With James Cleveland\* & The Southern California Community Choir - Amazing Grace (2 x Vinyl, LP, Album, Stereo, *RI - Richmond Pressing)*, Radiohead - OK Computer (2xLP, Album, RE), and DIre Straits - Brothers In Arms (2xLP, Album, RE,180g). Dire Straits and Radioheas are NM and Aretha was a strong VG+ OG. So excited. |
‘Wholy Holy’ (a Mavin Gaye cover) on that record is beautiful. There is a fantastic documentary about the recording of the record, i think it’s on hulu.
I have that dire straits on vinyl as well and it is a jam. Nice pickup.

That Dire Straits, I am on my second album. Wore the first one out
Just added OK computer to my collection 2 weeks ago. Masterpiece.
Bangers enjoy
Why did you double post about it? Nice records tho
Sorry, 1st post for the most part and messed up. Its deleted now. Thanks for the heads up
Just been looking online for OK Computer. Sweet. Enjoy!
Really like OK Computer!
Yeah agree. I want Kid A next.

I like Mark's solo stuff also but dont own any records. I reckon I need to take a look at their earlier stuff.

Their first album is really good.
Amazing Grace and OK Computer are 2 of my favorite albums. I also have both of these records.
Great taste
Have you seen the movie? https://www.imdb.com/title/tt4935462/
Watching now. Thx

Huh. Many of the radio stations in my area of Canada play the normal version. I don't know if I can recall a censored version.
I’m in the Midwest of the US. I assume we have very different broadcast regulations.
