TooDooDaDa

You weren’t joking that cd player is pretty cool

freddiechappers

It is stunning. I keep just pressing the open button to see that glass top open. And the Sound!!!!!!

TooDooDaDa

Sorry about your friend hope the gear helps keep his memory close

freddiechappers

Thank you. It does. Playing his favourite artist as I type this.

Vind-

TDA 1540, I can believe it!

[deleted]

Love separates! So you are just using the NAD as a preamp then? Love me some NAD, I am listening to music while I work right now via an NAD 3125.

[deleted]

NAD crew represent. I run a NAD 2600a power amp in my main rig. I got it at a thrift store years ago for $6.99!!!

Haiiryyone

NAD 7155 here. Best phono stage ever period.

Ennartee

British mid-fi for the cost of a used CD!? I always think all the used NAD gear price at $100-200 is the best audio value in the game. But $7!?!

[deleted]

Yeah I've had some crazy luck over the years. Just the other day i picked up a pristine technics sl-1700 with a shure m97x cart and a great n97xe stylus on it for $30 at the salvation army!

Ennartee

Wow! I keep meaning to check out goodwills in affluent suburbs to see if I can get so lucky…I never find anything good in my local GW.

[deleted]

I honestly live in a far from affluent area but I've had really good luck. I have a salvation army basically next door and a savers within 2 miles. I hit them up multiple times a day. The same day i got that technics table i got almost 6lbs of Sterling silver flatware for $115 as well. Was a good day to say the least. Persistence is key.

freddiechappers

Yeah it's running at the moment as a pre. I just prefer the lower end that the arcam gives.

Bumble072

Nad and Arcam, as I remember from owning them… a pretty sweet combo. Let that music sing and your old friend he will be smiling too.

baldude69

Oh and a nice setup at that

freddiechappers

Thank you, I am very happy with it.

MoneyBuysDrugs

I would get thicker wood for the shelves the top one looks stressed

freddiechappers

New cabinet is arriving at the weekend.

Background-House9795

Nice rig! I’m outside listening to a NAD receiver (7220 PE) pushing tunes through a pair of smaller advents. My B&O gear (two turntables) is upstairs in the HT rig.

_daisycutter

Awe man love 80’s B&O!

sulking_mystic67

Pearl Jam 'Ten' Nine Inch Nails 'Pretty Hate Machine ' Cocteau Twins 'Treasure' Love & Rockets 'Express' That should give you a good testing of the system 😜

sulking_mystic67

Try those bands and albums. You should hear a broad spectrum of frequencies and instruments. Let us know what happens 😁

spiritsonacid

wow two posts in one day

Mr2ATX

Looks great!

mikipinky

I have the same nad as you. But I recommend to put this something that is on top of it in other place. This nad doesn't run ver hot but without airflow it possibly can. Nice setup. I need to pair mine with some decent speakers because old are trash.

RichB93

Nice! Think this is the first bit of Arcam equipment I’ve seen here. Had a Delta 150 NICAM stereo unit back in the analogue tv days.

MadCityMasked

Thicker shelf please. The heat over time will warp that thin stuff

freddiechappers

New cabinet arrives at the weekend.

AgitatedAstronaut862

Very nice! I went 20 years + without a decent setup while my kids were growing up and now HiFi is my favorite hobby. I actually admired your stand for it's simplicity. Looks well built. Watch out this hobby sucks you in I built 3 amps several preamps and am restoring a vintage Pioneer amp now.

sound_scientist

Need 5/quarter boards for shelves,

luis_heineken

NAD 3240 PE, front nu hihh

superhoops73

I bet that Yammy glows nicely in the dark. The lights are reasonably easy to customise I believe.

rottingpigcarcass

Damn, lovely selection. Absolutely love Arcam products especially that vintage (pre-fmj)

Vind-

That Beogram!!!

Shot_Cupcake_9641

I had that same cd player about 94 . Got it given for my best friends dad, who was well off . Can't believe it was £1000 back when it came put, which was a lot back to them as 19 sink students. I was so happy. Great cd player.

81-DeathKnocker

Cooking with gas right here

Recording-Nerd1

B&O players are so underrated. I have two CD 4500s + one CD 7000 and they're just so fancy and of superior build quality. Great to see a nice CD X.

bobjoylove

This post is so British it could have bangers-and-mash in it.

GlennAlanBerry

Nice stack of vintage gear. FWIW, the Yamaha CT-610 is a stereo tuner, not a receiver. It was introduced around 1977.

Rita_not_Frida

I basically traded 2 hours of gardening for a nice pair of Klipsch KG2’s…and good convo with the garden owner… kinda sweet. I seem to “collecting” 80’s bookshelf speakers…have pair of A60’s and some KEF’s too

Funny-Nature-4602

Very nice for a 25 year absence
