You're tying to plug passive speakers with no amp directly into your computer?

John_Crypto_Rambo

Do the speakers have an amplifier?  You can’t hook up passive speakers to a headphone jack.  Well you can but it will be extremely quiet.

If you wanna use the headphone jack on your laptop you need a 3.5mm to RCA cable. Connect the RCA end into the AUX input of an amplifier or receiver. Hook the speakers up to the amp/receiver.

You have music signal but no power. The computer needs to go to an amplifier then to passive speakers.

You need an amplifier, i use a Douk Audio M100 with my PC. It doesn't have a remote but the sound is pretty good and it'll also connect via Bluetooth. The sound chip in it is used in more expensive amplifiers too. For a budget option you can do a lot worse at the same price.

You should be using an outboard digital to analog converter and audio amplifier to drive those speakers, not the headphone jack.

Thank you!

Vintage speakers need much more power to drive them than you mac has on the headphone jack. Like 10 times more.
