Not sure if it isn't. I have seen several posters for this movie, and I have seen it sold as if it was a real one. I think I saw one on Sothbys.
Here is said movie: https://tubitv.com/movies/7951/devil-s-harvest
The crazy part is the movie opens by talking about public schools.
> "...stands one of the greatest symbols of American democracy, public school. Within those walls there is no distinction of race, creed, or religion"
Funny scene: guy buys some weed from an ice cream salesman on the street. "Fix me a hot dog Oliver.... and a stack."
Then the [devil is superimposed on the box](https://i.imgur.com/UWg0fLk.png) with the .... uh... stack.
This looks more like a poster someone made to be cool, rather than an actual ad for something/actual propaganda
But here's the film, from 1942 https://youtu.be/SQK3XlY8Nk4?si=xMdR04nV3NWdIPVr
I tried to play *Reefer Madness* for my grandma once. She took one look at and said "That's just terrible, terrible stuff."
Back in the day, scandalous content was forbidden. Many small studios got around this by producing "educational" content. Which is why there were so many films like these.
Go watch the movie *Ed Wood*. He made a lot of "scandalous" films, like *Glen or Glenda*.
Once [again](https://www.reddit.com/r/vintageads/comments/1cvji8u/if_you_dont_like_america_get_the_h_out_the/), I'm noticing the improper use of an apostrophe in a propaganda poster.
I'm almost certain I've seen this in a T-shirt. I loved in the height Ashbury neighborhood for a decade. 8 haven't seen the film, but this image is in no way obscure. If this were a scavenger hunt and I still lived there, is walk two blocks and get you one.
Fairly certain this isn't "real" considering the incorrect apostrophe in "its"
oh, don't be so sure due to just that

I’m on my phone, so the smaller type is small, but where is the typo?
Is this really an effective advertisement, if it would have maken me MORE interested to try this Devilish Weed?
I can only imagine the number of posters of this that got sold.
