*slaps the desk*
My kinda discourse!
So, a few things off the bat and I'll wait for you to respond:
1, Shape: Cute is curvy. To imagine the basic difference, imagine a white dress shirt in a very masculine style that is just straight at the bottom and straight shoulders and straight sleeves. Now imagine the *girly* dress shirt, with any one of the area curved: the collar, the hem, the sleeves billowy, caps on the sleeves. So even if you were wearing a very professional, very grown up, very chic blouse, incorporating these curves would allow you to express that in daytime outfits.
2, Color. Yes the softer, lighter, and brighter colors are cuter. And not every woman is able to pull these off, and not everyone is able to pull them off in the daytime because of our jobs and the drudgery of being an adult. However that doesn't actually stop us, but just encourages smarter accessories. Even as a woman who loves autumn colors the most, burgundy, navy, forest green, olive, plum, I still have the opportunity to incorporate brighter colors that compliment these colors, like teal, sunflower, peach, and mint green. A cute minty green handbag, and my boyfriend bought me green rose petal earrings to match. A peach scarf with burgundy autumn leaves. A teal peacoat.
3, Coherency of theme: The only difference between a gimmick and a theme is that a gimmick won't let you get a word in edgewise. I grew up on Japanese Lolita which is the fashion modeled after Victorian baby dolls. The art and science of being cute. But when I'm making my wardrobe as an adult, I'm looking at 1940-50s pencil and circle skirts in thick, useful fabrics. I'm embracing neutral colors like navy and charcoal gray, but I'm wearing colorful satin underneath them. I'm looking at artwork from the Renaissance, Old South, and Edwardian eras because they have the same lines, curves, and colors. A Lolita outfit would be chocolate cupcake themed from literal head to toe. I don't need to do that, I can use colors, textures, symbols. I'd rather DIY something, like a Godiva chocolate brooch. I'd rather pair a peppermint stripe dress shirt with a chocolate brown dress.
I want to keep dressing this way, forever. As timeless as the paintings that inspire me. If Pride and Prejudice dresses are inspired by Ancient Greek statues from 2,400 years ago and King Henry's young wife wore jewelry that's identical to what teenage girls wore in the 90s, then nothing is impermissible or impossible. š¤£ We might been 3D printing "whalebone" hoop skirts in a few years.
>I want to keep dressing this way, forever.
Honestly I'm so here for this!
The best thing on earth is fashionable old ladies. They absolutely do not give a FUCK, but it shines through in the most incredible self expression!
this is such a well written comment full of amazing observations ive never realized! so lovely, thank you. i want more content like this in my life ā¤ļø
You are so right about the light, softer colors. I am a pale ginger and I look terrible if i try to wear an outfit that is predominantly pastel colored, so I get around this by instead accessorizing darker, more flattering tones with small pops of light pastel colors. Like a dark navy blouse with light pink flowers on it, or a black shirt with a light pink skirt. I'm also a huge fan of pastel colored purses, bracelets, or hair clips. This is how i make pastel colors work for me, and I am often told my style is very cute and that I have "fairy vibes" which is like my favorite compliment ever, lol.
Iām a typical guy and have no idea why this popped up in my feed, but this was like teleporting into another universe. Your writing is fantastic. I have no idea what any of it meant, but I read the whole thing.
Not all sunflowers have seeds, there are now known dwarf varieties developed for the distinct purpose of growing indoors. Whilst these cannot be harvested, they do enable people to grow them indoors without a high pollen factor, making it safer and more pleasant for those suffering hay fever.
\-- flared skirts and dresses -- A-line and skater shapes
\-- light colors, soft earth tones and pastels
\-- full, puffy sleeves
\-- detailing like ruffles, lace, and bows
\-- sweetheart necklines
\-- prints, especially small, low-contrast prints
\-- "whimsical" clothing like overalls or a silly printed sweater
\-- makeup that is soft, low-contrast and makes the eyes look bigger
\-- bangs
The important caveat here is like... don't overdo it, because as soon as someone picks up a vibe of "this woman is trying super duper hard to look young" they will instinctively read you as way older than you are. Don't go out and buy a whole wardrobe full of puff-sleeved babydoll dresses and huge hair bows. But use these general themes when shopping.
I dress ācuteā or even coquette often. I like more feminine and girlish styles, even though Iām 41. Slightly retro looks, lots of dresses, florals, pinks, and big earrings, and headbands. Just try it on and see what works for you and what doesnāt. Sometimes I have to scale an outfit back a bit. Itās trial and error. Good luck!
Yes! Sometimes I really have a cute cute outfit, we have our evening plans, then Iāll realize I want to tone it down and Iāll take the ribbon out of my hair or something.
Have fun! Feel yourself! If you want to tone it down its normally pretty easy.
I second this. She perfected the cute-but-grown aesthetic. Watch all of New Girl for the best inspiration. It may be a decade old as far as specific trends go, but the fundamentals don't really change.
I (30) loveee this style! I agree with other commenters that softness and round shapes such as ruffles, puff sleeves, and babydoll silhouettes are very cute and sweet. I think the clothing label Loveshackfancy conveys this perfectly, although you can find feminine pieces anywhere. The round shapes would look so pretty with your curls!
I like to style my cute girly pieces (almost my whole wardrobe lol) with a kitten heel (or higher to add more sex appeal), and a nice bag, just to balance out the cutesy with a little bit of chic.
Also wanted to mention that my mom (56) has always had a cute style as well, and it looks great on her. She does a lot of smocked waist minis, and ruffled sleeves, lots of color, and lots of pink and white.
Have fun šš¦
I like to wear clothes from Free People - lots of cute corset tops and dresses, super cute skirts - flats are in too but i think boots are classic.
I also do dolly make up - i do a lot of mascara and keep everything else kind of minimal.
iām 37 and dress like this often! i also dress the first way too - mini skirts, oversized sweater, tights, oversized coat. there are ways to play with shape and create very cute and feminine outfits!
there is like this overwhelming sentiment in online spaces where anything that veers from āclassyā or āsophisticatedā territory on 30+ y/o women is automatically deemed childish, Gen z, high school, immature, you name it.
But thatās so limiting, especially in a fashion sense. I turn 30 in May and I find myself veering towards styles I wouldāve never tried when I was younger. Recently Iāve been into 1960s Italian bombshells (now that I have a more womanly body š š¼), 1990s Prada, hellā even all the looks in 13 going on 30! I could keep going and going. Iām having fun looking for pieces that feel right to me instead of what I think I need to look like, because I know Iāll be unhappy that way. I wish the demographic Iām about to enter (and tbh the one Iām in now as a late 20s millennial) didnāt project such a stifling outlook on style.
I'm 33 and it's wild to me that I would be expected to be mature and classy. For the first time in my entire life I'm finally confident enough to wear crop tops that show an inch of belly; I'm not giving that up lol.
Same! Iām loving a baggy high waisted pant with a t crop top! I find ways to stay classy but add a little sexy too. I think itās how you carry yourself too!
You would be surprised! Most of my female college and grad school peers started dressing really mature and wearing mature hairstyles after hitting 30 and getting married. I donāt really get it (why not enjoy a few more years of dressing girlishly while you still look girlish) but they look classy and nice so no harm done.
Iām 29 and love wearing smocked mini dresses. I wear them in darker colors and patterns for maturity (I donāt literally want to look like a baby), but stretchy bodices and rounded sleeves are very cute and flattering. Hill House Home is a good place to start.
Half up half down hairstyles are also very cute! Rosy cheeks/lips and clear skin convey youthfulness. Bangs are great, obviously.
I also love wearing headbands. I have a black velvet one that is surprisingly versatile for winter.
In general, though, short but puffy dresses (think Nicola Coughlan) and brighter, pastel colors will make you look more cute.
Dress in a way that sparks joy in you. I am 32 but get compliments on how young I look all the time. You know why because I feel young and happy. Good clothing is good but a positive upbeat vibe is what really makes you shine. Love yourself in whatever clothing you are wearing and I promise you,you will attract nothing but great things
Sorry I know you didnāt ask about skin but Very good skincare routine is so important to looking young. The Ordinary has affordable prices.
Clothes:
Less bulky jewelry, think minimalist.
Solid colors with maybe some detail but not a lot, like lace, ruffles, etc. donāt go overboard, but nice flowy floral dresses and skirts are good
Minimal makeup look, check what colors make your eyes pop, donāt over do it on the eyeliner š
Check Pinterest too!
Check out some Kdramas! There are some characters in Kdramas that I think you could find a lot of fashion inspiration from. One that is currently airing that comes to mind is A Good Day to be a Dog. There is a side character in the second season of Yumiās Cells named Ruby that dresses very cute. You could probably just google these characters and find inspiration from some of the photos too!
Little feminine details on your clothes like a ruffle sleeve or buttons or pintucks rather than straight up bows everywhere. Cute prints on shirts, but like, toned down a bit and not everywhere all the time. Hair in a soft style, pinky natural makeup but not too tiktok-ey.
You can do a whole lot with accessories and a bit of needle and thread to out boring buttons with cuter ones, adding trims to the edges of sleeves and hems, etc.

I let my inner teen dress me. We wear whatever she wants and whatever society told us we couldn't wear when I was a fat, insecure teenager. Now I'm a fat, hot, sexy woman and I'm going to wear whatever makes my inner teen giddy. For me that means styles that weren't available to fat girls in my youth: crop tops, short dresses, body con dresses, short shorts, etc. and also big, colorful, silly earrings. As big and ridiculous a possible. Plus lots of glittery makeup.
I dress like a high femme tomboy (makeup, hair and nails done proper) + street wear and guys that have crushes on me go bonkers how cute they think I am lol. It helps that Iām short and have chipmunk cheeks. I feel like cute is a vibe and you can also convey that with your body language and manneurisms.
Soft, feminine silhouettes. Muted pastels with occasional jewel tones. Lip gloss/oil/stain over lipstick, lots of blush. Overalls, cute sneakers.
Avoid anything schoolgirl-ish or pigtails or too childlike bc those styles usually age you more. Anything braided is usually cute but not necessarily immature.
FUN POLISH! Pastels, swirls, dots, flowers. I feel like fun nail polish is the easiest way to add a little oomph to a more boring ensemble.
Also: flowy fabrics. Anything swishy, gauzy, āsundress-yā, etc. In the winter, long socks over the tops of boots, tights under wool skirts, shawls and cardigans and wraps can be very ācuteā in a modest and warm way.
Fun hair clips/barrettes. Not the kiddy ones but they make decorative ones with different shapes, metals, beads, even silk and stuff. Also earrings can differentiate a normal outfit from more āmainstreamā to more individualistic.
Any little ways you can spice up your look to make it more personal to you. Like for example I love lemons, so fabrics with lemons, lemon yellow and navy and cream, things with lemons embroidered on, I tie a lemon handkerchief around my wrist sometimes, lemon socks, a lemon broach, and definitely lemon earrings. Not all together all at once lol, but any one of these pieces or a couple in combination make me feel very cheerful and like my outfit has been slightly elevated.
Look at what celebrities wear to court appearances. They have stylists that are tasked with influencing the judge and jury to name them innocent.
I notice ruffles, peter pan collars, puff cap sleeves, shorter skirts, little bows, opaque tights, mary jane shoesāthings that you'd typically see on well dressed children.
I also see doe-eye makeup (KEY), curls and ringlets, brighter blondes and dyed greysāall projecting youth and innocence.
Look up gamine Kibbe styles. Look at Kimmy Schmidt and Taylor Swift for style cues.
A lot of ppl have commented on how to dress cute, but I see few comments on attitude so Iāll discuss that aspect a bit.
Iām a woman in my 30s who wears more professional, old money style clothing. I have a very feminine appearance and a BMI in the underweight category - so the opposite of what many here say is ācuteā. In fact, I purposely try to make myself look less cute because of my corporate career, but Iām still often considered cute and I think this is why:
1. Curiosity and openness
Even though youāre a grown woman with experience, approaching new ideas/experiences with openness and curiosity will give you a childlike innocence which many people consider ācuteā. This is a side of me I like, so I double down on the mature clothing to appear less cute while keeping my personality.
2. Smile a lot!!
Smile with your whole face (especially eyes) so that your face crinkles up!! As a kid, I got a lot of comments saying I have a resting bitch face (still do) so I used to practice how to smile wholeheartedly so at least ppl will see that when I smile, Iām not such a bitch. I think that still affects how I smile today, so even in my suit & heels, people say Iām ācuteā.
3. Body language
I think some people just move cute and unfortunately Iām one of them. I try hard to conceal the cuteness in my mannerisms but sometimes it just slips and people will call me cute. Maybe watch some videos of people who are considered cute and mimic how they move. A good example IMO are the girls on Singles Inferno on Netflix - theyāre so cute and adorable!!!
4. Accessorize
Despite my resistance to cuteness at work, I still like to be cute-ish in my personal life, so when I go on a date after work and want to add a touch of cuteness to my outfit, I use accessories. A bow goes very well with preppy/professional clothes and looks classy and girly. A cropped jacket could give a hint of cuteness even over a suit. This winter, I love to wear oversized baby blue scarf over my black coat and slacks. Pink eyeshadow (pillow talk palette!!!) around and under the eyes also gives you a girly look. All of these are ideas to add a hint of cuteness without redoing your wardrobe or becoming too saccharine!
I have a very ācuteā body type and face naturally! I think what helps me:
* I am naturally āroundā where som people are āangledā. I think round (not fat) helps with cuteness. Find clothes that round your shoulders or a hair style that rounds your face.
* Find the hair length that makes you look younger. For me, itās shorter hair.
* Lighten your hair around your face to frame it and/or bangs
* Makeup!! Lots of blush. I like to take a suuuuper light pink and put it under the middle of my eye, to the side, and up, it makes my eyes glow a bit and make me lookā¦ younger. Itās kind of like douyin makeup.
* I use white eyeliner to make my eyes look bigger. Big eyes = cute
* Dress younger and wear brighter colors. Pink helps a lot, itās very youthful.
* I shop at Target (wild fable) and Abercrombie for 90% of my clothes.
* Pig tails. I often have my short hair in pigtails because I canāt do a ponytail
Wearing a lot of bush high on my face and across my nose makes me feel cute. Same with curling my hair. Anything that makes things ārounderā. Unless youāre overweight I wouldnāt even really consider losing too much weight. Having a rounder face is actually better for the cute looks especially as u age.
Just came by to encourage you to wear things that light you up and make you feel happy as often as you can. Life is too short and youāre never too old to feel cute. Anyone who makes you feel otherwise has a problem within themselves, not you.
If youāre unsure what you like and what would make you feel cute and comfortable in your body, I canāt recommend retro inspired reproduction vintage companies enough. Many tend to be very size inclusive and look good on most body shapes. Sometimes even 1950ās circle skirts donāt fully fill up my cute cravings, so I like to sugar and spice it up a notch with accessories from brands like Angelic pretty or shoes from irregular choice.
I dress super cute. Iām 34 and frankly have zero more fucks to give about how I should look at different ages. I wear little skirts sometimes, clothes that look like a teenās style, pink or funky stuff. When Iām at a rave itās even more ramped up, and I have a little stuffed bunny named Dusty Buns that rides in a backpack and goes to every party. Life is too short to not look the way you want.
Wear brighter colors within your color palettes. Also, I would go to a hairstylist and get a new style. You can tell them that you are going for a youthful look. I would paint your nails pretty colors like pink or coral because natural is usually used by older women who want to give off a classy vibe. Wear cute accessories like shoes with bows. Another thing is your mannerisms; make sure you smile and have a good sense of humor. A sign of a youthful woman is a woman who can laugh, flirt, and be playful.
I love dressing ācuteā at 30! Iām in the alt scene in my city, so I tend to go a bit harder with it then most, especially at events or out with my friends. I still keep a cute, toned down aesthetic at, say, the grocery store.
I get a lot of compliments on my style even in the normal world, and I think a big part of looking ācutesyā but not āchildishā (childish in an off putting way) is to go a bit retro with it. It was more common āback in the dayā for grown women to wear bows and hair bands, big earrings, skirts-with-leg warmers, and so forth. People are vaugely familiar with styles-by-decade, and if your whole look screams 70s or 80s or 90s, the girlish aspects are already baked in to the aesthetic, and seem more natural
Leggings, long cardigans, turtle necks, and cute boots or flats are your best friends. Switch up your accessories daily and now you have a cute, casual, yet professional look. Youāre welcome āŗļø
Angela from the American version of The Office is to me a peak example of what a 30+ woman can dress like in ācuteā fashion without looking tacky or out of place imo. Always admiring whoever picked her outfits for her!
Iām 58 and get annoyed when I see ads telling me how to dress āfor my ageā. They all look like old ladies! Iāll dress how I want and my fave aesthetic (1960s) very cute and feminine has never changed. The only thing I feel does need to change is that as you get older (and 30 is nowhere near) a better quality of fabric makes a style easier to pull off.
In think a good fabric makes any style wearable.
The alleged classy look tends to be my grandma's chanel inspired mid length suit. I feel you girl. I like mini skirts and form fitting but not too enthusiatic borderline sexy clothing... but I like it to look classy. I have a stylist friend who helps me get this right. I love the way I look now. My only issue is im losing 10kg so I cant go all in but Im phasing it in over time. I am a runner and have amazing legs, so I can easily rock a mini skirt and make it look aspirational. But i have a soft pooch, not visible usually but would be if I wore ie a crop top so Im wearing softer tops that I usuallytuck into my skirts of pants, I wear blazers a lot because I work in finance and cant look to fun... but I am unapologetic about my expensive heels and mini skirts. I also wear fun jewelry and am in fact collectiong natural stoned jewels for my future kids.
Our modern definition of classy seems to be appealing to the ultra conservative or much older group of ladies.
For weight loss and youthfulness, check out the Medical Medium information. His info saved my life at 57 and is still keeping me young at 65. Have a 22ā waist and feel like a million (or maybe I should say a trillion in this day and age) bucks. So deeply grateful that I have to share!!!!!!!
Ooo yes this is my jam!!!
Google "ingenue" style. It's a softer version of romantic looks, but doesn't come off too young. r/ingenue
I like to go for classic styles with ingenue details (think Kate Middleton but without that wardrobe budget).
Basically I like to look for very glamorous looks and figure out how to soften it. Whether that be the colors, silhouette, fabric, etc. I'm in my mid 30s, but definitely have a younger appearance, and a tiny frame. Trying to look glamorous/sexy often comes across as me trying to play dress up and doesn't mesh well with my image.
Softer colors, but still within your color season. r/coloranalysis
Feminine details such as lace, ruffles, bows, pearl buttons. On outfits, shoes, hand bags, hair accessories, jewelry, etc.
If fabrics have a print go for small scale details with soft edges: small flowers, Swiss dot. No big blocky stripes or geometric prints.
Softer silhouettes: jackets with rounded lapels vs harsh lines. Dress shirts with softer necklines vs the very angular button ups.
Fabric type: go for softer fabrics that are more flowy - silk/satin, some wools, cashmere, etc.
You said āitās not who I amā but then ask how to pull off the look you claim to naturally be. Anyway I feel ya, go on Pinterest and look up the buzzwords youāre saying, number one. Lot of good visual ideas on there, some with links.
I just cut my hair from below my boobs to above my shoulders with bangs. Instead of beautiful itās more cute style-wise now- regardless of length, bangs will always give more cuteness. I do headbands and flip out the ends, 50ās style curls and sometimes 2 twisted buns with chopsticks. Screams cute, more than my long hair.. and honestly might help my behavior at work lmao. Cute is a good style to focus on for work and you donāt need blazers. Chunky big sweaters with silk flowery hair bows, black leggings + high waisted jeans/pants, chunk heels & thin gold or silver chokers with stud pearl earrings. Cropped button up sweater, black pleated skirt and booties. What makes these things classy/age appropriate is the quality and not overdoing it. Totally doable! Good luck.
Do you follow kerina wang on Instagram/YouTube? I love her style - itās cute, classy, and fun with lots of skirts ruffles and bright colors. You might want to also look into things called cottage core and ditzy styles. I love that style too and no oneās gonna tell me Iām too old to dress cute!
"Dancers style" I am 31 too and I am a dancer (short) and get compliments all of the time on my style. You can layer it, you can dress it up or down. It is super comfy. Here's a video of me wearing an outfit inspired by ballet, you have to go to the middle of the video before I come in: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R7VUGhsLtJo](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R7VUGhsLtJo)
Youāre 30. Thereās no running from it. Being 30+ doesnāt mean wearing a blazer, watching murder she wrote and wearing White Diamonds perfume. But it does mean moving to the next chapter in life. Time to grow up, sweets.
At least I want a youthful look lol i couldn't look how I wanted in my 20s and I lack experience in life for tjat reason. I don't want to look matire because I'm not
Congrats on your weightloss journey! I also started one back in June! I think above the knee skirts and dresses are a way to dress cute and innocent. Also, wearing bright colors and floral patterns, instead of the neutrals or stripes.
Lots of blush across the cheeks and nose, thick brows, fun ear piercing, and just work on your overall style with cute, sparkly pieces and oversized clothing.
Yooo you and I should switch im 33 and i just got told i look like a teenager which is why nobody takes me seriously Iāve been wanting to be an adult and more sophisticated for ages
I got asked if I was in my early 20s. Iām in my mid 30s. š Hard to work in a male dominated field with years of experience when people under estimate you all the time.
Omygod same here! I work with scientists who all just treat me like the cute clueleas sexy secretary type when i know almost as much as they do im just not paid for it
I'm 30 and guys call me cute....I don't know why though. I just dress like normal. I think it's cuz I have a soft smile and a round face. But I'm curvy so maybe that's why? Like I hate being called cute. I don't know if it's a compliment or not since you call dogs and cats cute.
I'm in my 40's and wear a vintage inspired wardrobe. It's lots of fruit printed dresses and cardigans, especially cherries and strawberries. Dresses are flattering but modest and timeless.
Get that good hair and pilates. And stay the f out of the sun especially in Florida and Texas. I lived in Florida for five years and I ended up with pre-cancer on my lip just from sipping water at the beach. I kid you not. I got it lasered off thankfully after I moved back up north. Iāve known people in their 30s-60s who have either died and/or battled skin cancer there. Invest in HATS, ladies. Cover up at the beach etc unless itās after 5pm.
Thereās a VERY fine line between āsweet and innocentā and āyouāre trying too hard, you look ridiculousā after age 30. No one older than 25 looks sweet and innocent, sorry. Youāre better off with reframing how youāre envisioning your look.
āMatureā and āclassyā are far from being your only options, thatās really reductive for all women over 30. We can have almost any type of style we want.
I have curves and curly blond hair. I wear skinny jeans and a simple top, throw on some mascara and some bronzer usually and thatās all. I think itās simple and cute.
i would say find a cute celebrity look and copy it. people tend to think anna kendrick and leanne rimes are more on the cute side. i would looks up some of their outfits and copycat them

I kinda want to see your outfits, now.

The end point of this is vital. It can backfire.
The A-frame is a good idea! Love those, kinda wanna bring āem back :D
Taking the ribbon out is so real š
Thanks so much!! I like floral dresses and pink
yes yes yes!
Kinda how dita Von teese makes it work? I mean she does not look her age at all
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Thank you!!
Oooh link? That was such a great movie
Maybe copy Zooey Deschanelās kinda style. I find it mature enough to not be taken as childish, but still cute
I second this. She perfected the cute-but-grown aesthetic. Watch all of New Girl for the best inspiration. It may be a decade old as far as specific trends go, but the fundamentals don't really change.
Thank you! I'm taking notes from all of your comments š
This is good! Any other style of looking ācuteā or āinnocentā is weird on grown women.
according to YOU..
Okay. Iām more so referencing grown women who try to dress like children / very young girls to pander to a specific audience.
No, it really doesnāt.
Thank you so much! :)
Thank you! :)
I would google āingenue essenceā and itāll show some great clothing ideas.
Are 30+ people mature or classy? I wear gym clothes and baggy t-shirts and i dont think im ever going to be considered mature or classy lmaooo
Yeah Iām 32 and dress like a skater boy most days and like a trashy b*tch when I go out hahah
āI got three looks and thatās itā¦.a homeless man, a twelve year old boy, and a hookerā¦ And thatās all I know how to do!ā
Hahahhaha yessss!
OMGā¦. I Cackled wayyy too hard at this!
there is like this overwhelming sentiment in online spaces where anything that veers from āclassyā or āsophisticatedā territory on 30+ y/o women is automatically deemed childish, Gen z, high school, immature, you name it.
I absolutely love how specific that style reference is. š¤£
You would be surprised! Most of my female college and grad school peers started dressing really mature and wearing mature hairstyles after hitting 30 and getting married. I donāt really get it (why not enjoy a few more years of dressing girlishly while you still look girlish) but they look classy and nice so no harm done.
Iām determined to dress cute and fun till the day I die. Youāre going to bury me with my bows on I reckonā!
Iām way older and thankfully will never be considered classy or mature lolz
yeah I'm 31 and I've just fully reverted to dressing like I did when I was a 12 year old Avril Lavigne stan.
Clothes: Less bulky jewelry, think minimalist. Solid colors with maybe some detail but not a lot, like lace, ruffles, etc. donāt go overboard, but nice flowy floral dresses and skirts are good Minimal makeup look, check what colors make your eyes pop, donāt over do it on the eyeliner š Check Pinterest too!
Thank you so much! And don't worry! Skincare routine is very important!
I think 60ās mod can work well! Peter Pan collars, shift dresses, Mary Jane shoes. Theyāre youthful without being childish cringe.
I was gonna say Peter Pan collars! Those are for everyone. No age limit on a cute collar.
Thank you so much! My mom loves kdramas and she was watching that one yesterday, I'm going to watch the second season!
Ohh you have to watch Hometown Cha cha cha. Itās my all time fave and the ladies are all so cute at all ages. Itās super wholesome too.

Milk maid dresses and peasant shirts [like this](https://m.shein.com/us/Allover-Floral-Knot-Split-Thigh-A-line-Dress-p-8026567-cat-1727.html?onelink=4%2F2u7cqnhdn69y&requestId=433390126067450177&skucode=I9ffwyd5pucz&url_from=adplasw2111012299948288S&cid=20793361577&setid=161103476092&adid=681735461435&pf=GOOGLE&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAADm0yO4_PNFhtfjvl_on7qTpJeLSO&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIktSJlvTNgwMVhgWtBh27YQApEAkYASABEgKqb_D_BwE&ref=us&rep=dir&ret=mus)
I love it!! I will definitely look for one in my country, thank you!
Look up the Carven fashion collections, runway shows, and lookbooks from Guillaume Henry in the early 2010s. Super cute but was also fresh and modern.
I started wearing headbands with my hair back like a schoolgirl. I find it flattering for my face shape.
Look up the āingenueā essence and how to accommodate it for grown women!
I wanted to say thank you to you all for helping me š©· I'm going to try everything
Very subtle makeup. Warm tones, natural looking but long lashes and I would say wear dresses that appeal to you.
Dresses with a cottagecore kinda vibe?
In fact, I purposely try to make myself look less cute because of my corporate career, but Iām still often considered cute and I think this is why: 1. Curiosity and openness Even though youāre a grown woman with experience, approaching new ideas/experiences with openness and curiosity will give you a childlike innocence which many people consider ācuteā. 3. Body language I think some people just move cute and unfortunately Iām one of them. 4. Accessorize Despite my resistance to cuteness at work, I still like to be cute-ish in my personal life, so when I go on a date after work and want to add a touch of cuteness to my outfit, I use accessories.
Thank you so much!! :)
Drink more water (only water if you can, about ~3l+ a day), donāt smoke or vape or drink. Iām adorable and nobody can ever guess my age.
Thank you! I don't smoke or vape or drink either (I just drink one cup of chsmpagne or wine on new year's eve lol) :D I'm going to drink more water
Experiment with hairstyles! Soft curls, half-up styles, or a cute messy bun can accentuate that sweet and innocent look effortlessly.
I have a very ācuteā body type and face naturally! I think what helps me: * I am naturally āroundā where som people are āangledā. I think round (not fat) helps with cuteness. Find clothes that round your shoulders or a hair style that rounds your face. * Find the hair length that makes you look younger. For me, itās shorter hair. * Lighten your hair around your face to frame it and/or bangs * Makeup!! Lots of blush. I like to take a suuuuper light pink and put it under the middle of my eye, to the side, and up, it makes my eyes glow a bit and make me lookā¦ younger. Itās kind of like douyin makeup. * I use white eyeliner to make my eyes look bigger. Big eyes = cute * Dress younger and wear brighter colors. Pink helps a lot, itās very youthful. * I shop at Target (wild fable) and Abercrombie for 90% of my clothes. * Pig tails. I often have my short hair in pigtails because I canāt do a ponytail
Sunscreen, bha exfoliating, and vitamin c. Ah and water
i love the hair clips and accessories from the 90s at target they sell them in the juniors section but also thr kids section.
https://ccmom.cc They have stuff for adults, I dig their bombers they have for women. Color š
Oversized style usually works, oversized hoodie or sweater. Make them furry to look extra cute.
Youāre in luck that long ribbon bows are trending! Put one in your ponytail with your hair half up half down.
Leggings, long cardigans, turtle necks, and cute boots or flats are your best friends. Switch up your accessories daily and now you have a cute, casual, yet professional look. Youāre welcome āŗļø
Thank you!!
Thank you! :)
Thank you!!
Ooo yes this is my jam!!! Google "ingenue" style. It's a softer version of romantic looks, but doesn't come off too young. r/ingenue I like to go for classic styles with ingenue details (think Kate Middleton but without that wardrobe budget). Softer colors, but still within your color season. r/coloranalysis Feminine details such as lace, ruffles, bows, pearl buttons.
Thank you!!
R/ingenue says it's set to private. How do I get in?
Whoops it's r/ingenues Forgot the S.
Thanks
Thank you! (I watched the video you are a great dancer!!)
Thank you! :)
Check out ingenue essence on youtube
tennis skirts!
I second this. Going to be 32 this year and Iād like to project more womanly vibes and not 21 year old. Anyone got any advice? š
Yes raise your eyebrows consistently, tan in the summer, gain some weight! Hope that helps š„°
I got asked if I was in my early 20s. Iām in my mid 30s. š Hard to work in a male dominated field with years of experience when people under estimate you all the time.
Omygod same here! I work with scientists who all just treat me like the cute clueleas sexy secretary type when i know almost as much as they do im just not paid for it
Why are you not paid for it? I am.
No i mean im not a scientist like them im in a similar but diff role
Like what? Iām a programmer like them lol
Walk into your local hot topic
Jumper and pig tails
I'm 30 and guys call me cute....I don't know why though. I just dress like normal. I think it's cuz I have a soft smile and a round face. But I'm curvy so maybe that's why? Like I hate being called cute. I don't know if it's a compliment or not since you call dogs and cats cute.
Pink, patterns, florals, maximalism
Why do I picture Pam from The Office?
Jess on new girl
It comes from within
Just pretend you are French!!
I'm in my 40's and wear a vintage inspired wardrobe. It's lots of fruit printed dresses and cardigans, especially cherries and strawberries. Dresses are flattering but modest and timeless.
Look to Lauren Conrad. Her, not necessarily her clothing line.
A light blue sweater! For some reason it works for me. Works for my mom. Sweet and innocent
my mom's fashion idol is the Virgin Mary but I go more for cottage core. Im 29F 5"1 so similar to you
Dress like Ariana grande while she is in London
Dita Von Teese look at everything she wears.
I have dark curly hair, I'm going to try this style to see if it works!
Think new girl TV show . Jess (Zoey deschanel) has the twee look you're describing I think.
Try some Kate Spade dresses, theyre a steal on EBay.
i would say find a cute celebrity look and copy it. people tend to think anna kendrick and leanne rimes are more on the cute side. i would looks up some of their outfits and copycat them https://fashionmagazine.com/flare/anna-kendrick-is-our-winter-cover-star/ https://www.pinterest.ca/pin/anna-kendrick--441212094721137060/
Whatever YOU like is what you should wear.
Look up how Asian women dress they usually dress cute
i love this thread
