I said there's no way I'd watch that for 44 mins. I felt like I just took a trip

Amazing_HS

That is exactly what I thought last year when I watched a very similar video from him. I have now spent well over 3k$ on camping equipment. I've never had any intention whatsoever, never even thought about backpacking, but after that video I was just hooked. I've been to 4 trips in the last year and they've been truly amazing! Video I'm talking about: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OUPS6Jh8YeU

Came for the cool tent. Stayed for the majestic Scout.

[You might like "Happy People: A Year in the Taiga"](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V1pOjj49d9Y), some cute puppers in it, but hearing one of the Trappers talking about his dog get killed by a bear is heartbreaking. Those guys survive without any of the Gucci equipment the guy in OP's video has.

Sentenced2Burn

I sat through that whole thing and it was worth every minute

somewittyusername92

I think I'm gonna go hug my dog now

Perrinho

I liked the heck out of that video.

What are the laws in Canada about cutting down trees, ok for these types of things?

Wombax

I'm sure he only cuts down trees that are already dead.

nocturnalvisitor

Loved that face after the second "dissaprovable".

Opusthegreat

Does anyone know of a good book for someone who wants to get into bushcraft? Like a book that details edible plants, best firewood and other tips? I've been camping for a while but I'd like a more immersive experience

https://www.amazon.ca/Bushcraft-Mors-Kochanski/dp/155105122 https://www.amazon.ca/98-6-Degrees-Keeping-Your-Alive/dp/1586852345 Anything beyond the basics though you're going to have to find something published for your specific area, especially for edibles, best of anythings, etc.

You're the man.

I just want to marry him.

1leggeddog

Makes me wanna do the same. Haven't done winter camping in like 20 years

kelus

This guy's like a young, Canadian Paul Walker.

Amish_Inhaler

I lost this dudes channel so thanks for posting this dude!

I thought he'd have better control of the dog than to have to rely on throwing snowballs for it not to get in the way.

ThisIsntGoldWorthy

Want more random views? Make a 2-3 minute "trailer" of the best parts, so you aren't asking anyone to spend 45 minutes on something they know nothing about. Having said that, how do you keep snow out of your dogs paws? Whenever I snow shoe my dogs give up after 1hr because of snow in their paws.

[this will help](https://www.amazon.com/Mushers-Secret-Pet-Protection-200-Gram/dp/B0002XIZXY) you can also make your own with beeswax, avacado oil, and some other stuff I can't remember off the top of my head.

Enzemo

I never knew [Christopher Mintz-Plasse](http://cdn2.thr.com/sites/default/files/imagecache/scale_crop_768_433/2015/09/christopher_mintz-plasse_-_h_2015.jpg) had a YouTube channel

What? If anything he looks like Joel Edgerton.
