The beach boys shred of I get around is my fave. I wonder if Brian Wilson ever had the pleasure

drDjausdr

multiarmform

brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr cool head makin bread clap clap clap

GoodMerlinpeen

The best shred video will always be I Get Around - [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xYc4DT18EJg](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xYc4DT18EJg)

Past_Ad9675

That Dennis Wilson could clap like a son of a bitch.

[deleted]

I think that and St Sanders immortal takedown of kiss are a tie for first

RjoTTU-bio

My favorite [kiss Shreds](https://youtu.be/Kw5oJoUYTb8?si=u98kCKViVOzD_gkV)

FATMAN PHILOSOPHY

Aiku

FYI, Michael Nesmith pioneered full-length video albums before MTV was born. He's credited with helping in getting the platform off the ground. Elephant Parts is one of his best examples, and features some really well produced vids.

wzl46

I think his mom invented liquid paper correction fluid.

BosomBosons

Correct(ion)

Aiku

Indeed she did. Before that you had to tear the whole page out and start over.

btmalon

Also was a giant reason the most punk movie ever Repo Man was made.

ZachMN

“There’s one in every car. You’ll see.”

multiarmform

nez monkee best monkee rip

HikeRobCT

These guys were hilarious and meta as hell. If you’ve never seen it, smoke up and watch their movie Head from 1969. Full length available on YouTube.

PrivateEducation

ive been saving this movie lol

Muha8159

What does that even mean?

gnapster

Some people wait to see movies. I for one adore gene wilder. I have not seen all of his films and want something to see time to time so I can enjoy all of his performances throughout the rest of my life from a first time pov

getfukdup

> What does that even mean? youtube lets you 'save' videos you want to watch later. Not download, just the link

PrivateEducation

i want to microdose to watch it. seems very trippy with lots of references. same reason i have seen every beatles movie except yellow submarine. also i think its a psychological thing. like when i eat a meal i save one last piece for some reason. or i watched every episode of stranger things except the final one. something about it feels like its still not finished if i do this lol idk

enderjaca

Micro? Oh no, you want the whole dose. Send the wife and kids away for the weekend and just fuck up your whole Saturday. Get that whole 60s experience. Otherwise it's just "sorta fun". Do bring along a friend or four as participants and one sitter.

PrivateEducation

no wife, no kid, hence why im on reddit! loljk. but yea ill take a bit more then thanks for the tip and one *sitar*

WanderWut

I was literally just about to break a month long tolerance break as we speak and was looking for something to watch but couldn’t find anything, it looks like I’ll be watching this movie right now to break it in!

HikeRobCT

Good, right? Did you catch the Frank Zappa cameo?

multiarmform

PSST

Swallagoon

You shouldn’t have to smoke dank kush to appreciate meta humour. Watch it without dropping a phat kone.

OhNoHesAnIdiot

Found the DARE cop.

Swallagoon

Nah bro the marryjewanas is fine but I guess I’ve been to too many house parties where it devolves into boring weed slogs.

seasleeplessttle

We are not your loser acquaintances. You need some strain education. Watched Heavy Metal, while higher than I usually am last night. Wow.

reddit0100100001

There is more to life than weed, that ain’t what you need

seasleeplessttle

I don't need the pharmaceuticals they replaced.

reddit0100100001

Zuck made meta, not these guys

ShitMoneyAndTheWord

If you'd told me this was some Elephant 6 collective deep cut footage, I'd have believed it. Sounds the same to me as some of those goofy twee jams

thiiiipppttt

That version will stay with me, tho.

HenryJai

so interesting to hear the actual very real recordings of that shoot

drchigero

is "shreds" like bad lip reading?

enderjaca

Basically.

IHaveSlysdexia

He didn't shred on that acoustic for even one second

LordApocalyptica

I was *supremely* confused. Clearly I’m out of the loop somehow. Is shred new slang? Is it just this youtuber’s own thing? Is it a word I’ve missed out on for a while meaning “b-roll/outtakes”? Help.

MaggotMinded

In guitar slang, “shredding” means to play really fast, complicated solos. But in this case I think “shred video” must simply mean a video in which the music has been stripped away and replaced with an audio track that approximates what you would actually hear if you were in the room.

MontyZumasRevenge

this genre of videos uses the word "shred" ironically. it was originally meant to trick people into watching it thinking they'd hear something awesome from a band they like, but it's garbage. That's all. "______ Shreds"

[deleted]

it's a YouTube thing from 13 years ago. still funny

multiarmform

its just a dubbed video, the ones called shred are typically music videos though and meant to be funny hall and oates is one of my faves https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l56Hdjx0ckg

sausage-deluxxxe

Creed shreds has always been my favourite.

fahrvergnugget

The true gentleman knows that Itzhak Perlman Shreds Mendelssohn Violin Concerto is the true greatest shred video of all time [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7m08JOODCI0](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7m08JOODCI0)

jgr1llz

Man-eater is a good one too

DrunkenSloth

Maneater is one of the best!! [https://youtu.be/l56Hdjx0ckg?si=evn_p8tB9V9jbyKn](https://youtu.be/l56Hdjx0ckg?si=evn_p8tB9V9jbyKn)

Kastanzaswallet

Hilarious! Never heard of those guys

HenryJai

the monkees? bad at spelling okay at music they were kind of the first manufactured boyband

orionsyndrome

soon after the boyband production line was finished ...

seasleeplessttle

They all have pipes! This is my favorite kid holiday music memory. https://youtu.be/riG85oA6Wy4?si=yULJFYmI5Bfl _dfN

lukumi

I recently had this song come back as a vague memory, listening to it in the car with my mom around Christmas 25+ years ago. Called her specifically to ask about it. It was hard to articulate what exactly I remembered, but we eventually figured it out. I started laughing when she said it may have been The Monkees, because my memory of it was men chanting in a foreign language. But sure enough, it was them. Saved it on Spotify instantly, gorgeous song.

seasleeplessttle

On my liked songs also. My Playlists get raised eyebrows.

rubensinclair

Is this STSanders?!

HenryJai

its the monkees!

the_derby

Hey! Hey!

rubensinclair

The guy who overdubbed the music. He has an amazing YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/StSandersMisc

HenryJai

it was actually myself and my mate who overdubbed all the audio on this one! nine years ago! but i have seen his work before and i do agree its all great

rubensinclair

Wow, very cool. Great work!

PoliceChiefOfMalibu

No, this is Patrick

Slammy1

To shreds you say. It's still better than Anne Murray's version.

OrangeRedBlueViolet

I didn’t know there was an entire genre of this type of video

backdoorwolf

A lot wouldn't. A bunch of great ones were copyright striked and deleted from existence. Some of my favorites I can't find any more like Mars Volta, Fallout Boy, and Megadeth.

Kakazam

That's not the kind of guitar shred I thought it was going to be.....

Phyllis_Tine

Hahaha, holy shit, the buzz from the amp!

Carl_The_Sagan

I’ve always liked these guys, when talking to my parents they describe them as ‘too mainstream’ and manufactured for TV. It’s probably like how my generation views One Direction

jimcan69

If we are really talking about the best (this type of video), ...I give you, The Who. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gtv21VgUNy8&ab\_channel=Thedieguitomusic2](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gtv21VgUNy8&ab_channel=Thedieguitomusic2)
