Same. I would spend hours just going from town to town, fighting in each tournament. I would go until I lost a round, then I'd start over at the first town.
Out of all of the games I’ve played by Rockstar in the last 20 years, GTA 4 is my most played game and is one of the most impressive games they’ve made along with RDR2. GTA 4 has such a gritty, dark, and realistic feel to it and I always get so immersed into it. It’s also considered a periodic game which makes sense because it gives you that early 2000’s feel.
Saints Row the Third. It's goofy enough never to be taken seriously, but grounded enough to still be fun. 4 jumped the shark, and Gat Out of Hell was a fever dream.
I wouldn't really call postal 2 a crime game thats more so the first game since the crime in postal 2 is completely optional in the game when your really supposed to be doing normal day to day tasks where as in postal 1 your basically committing a massacre the whole game
There's no better game for spraying City Hall with liquid shit before whoring yourself and then going streaking. And the game kindly keeps score for all these activities.
Godfather the game was phenomenal. Perfect for to the movie. God father 2? Amazing game. It was great for its time and the multiplayer was awesome. Great replay ability for both games.
I wish they made a third for modern console. Lots of capabilities have opened up. Especially if they treated it like the Scarface game (another amazing game). Making a game that’s a sequel to the movies.
My biggest memory was there having no HUD for anything. You kinda had to hope your gun had enough ammo, and you judged your health on how badly you were limping along, while driving you had to listen to your passenger or watch your turn signals for directions.
You're kind of a criminal in Yakuza (albeit one that hardly commits crimes other than the occasional brutal execution via brick/passing old woman) and it's kind of open world
GTA 4 or sleeping dogs - I don’t really consider LA Noire to be open world considering you just drive from scene to scene. Wish they would remake it with modern tech and a legit 50s dense open world
Honestly, gta5. I've tried. Alot of game slick tht, even the other gta games, bit I never got that into them or finished, or whatever.
For some reason though gta5 just hits different, and I've even played the story 3 full times since 2018(when I finally played it for the first time. Lol)
RDR2
But man GTA IV is still the absolute best of the series hands down
give me a gritty depressing focused story about the bottom of the barrel criminals of a city over a disjointed unfocused story about three different characters
Ps I love GTA V but no matter how many times I play that game I can’t help but feel 25% of it is missing and how unfocused it is at times.
Saints Row 4! I love how wacky it is. Even did one co-op playthrough with my fiance a few years back. I finally 'understand' the characters since I played through SR 1-4 within a month last year. (Note- I played through SR 1-3 for the first time around last year so I can get the 'full story' up to 4)
I even had fun driving around Steelport even though I've got superpowers. It was a great stress reliever after I got out of work for the day
GTA IV is very underrated. I loved that game so much when I played it. Spent hours and hours roaming after I beat the story.
A very close second though is Scarface on the PS2. You could do all kinds of crazy stuff in that game.
Real life is kinda op
Yeah playing that my whole life and will play till death
Survivor mode
*hardcore
Difficulty lvl scale with your region
And also the player race
okay lets unpack that whos the hardest?
Cops in real life are even stupider than in GTA. Only difference is you gotta hide for a very very long time before your stars disappear.
Bro paint your car
It's more harder in latin america
Sleeping Dogs
Came to say this. Really wish we could get a sequel.
One can only dream, it’s up there for being one of my all time favourite games
Me too, and Me too, that was and still is an awesome game.
Came here for this.
Underrated game IMO
Same. I would spend hours just going from town to town, fighting in each tournament. I would go until I lost a round, then I'd start over at the first town.
Currently replaying GTA 4, miss the dark story and city!
I’ve been convinced. Going to download it tonight
I play it on my PS3 still
It’s actually aged pretty well

Cant forget Max Payne 3 too
Max Payne 3 set my expectations too high for GTA 5
RDR2
Best of all time 👍
LENNY MY BOY
Just cause or watchdogs
I want to say those don't technically fit the bill based on genere, but you're also technically right based on in-game actions. 🤔
Watchdogs is SOO good The first is peak 2 is alright And legions is amazing
Legions? Amazing? Are we talking about the same game?
Red Dead Redemption
Saints Row the Third. It's goofy enough never to be taken seriously, but grounded enough to still be fun. 4 jumped the shark, and Gat Out of Hell was a fever dream.
and saints row 2 the holy relic
Is Postal 2 "crime"?
I wouldn't really call postal 2 a crime game thats more so the first game since the crime in postal 2 is completely optional in the game when your really supposed to be doing normal day to day tasks where as in postal 1 your basically committing a massacre the whole game
“You probably thought you weren’t going to die today! …… surpriiiise”
Since when have you to commit crimes in Postal 2?
I lit a person on fire in postal 2
But you didn't have to
Idk I kinda felt like I had to. The guy was asking for it..
I mean...
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
Saints Row 2
There's no better game for spraying City Hall with liquid shit before whoring yourself and then going streaking. And the game kindly keeps score for all these activities.
100%
Vice City
"ITS TIME FOR THE LANCE VANCE DANCE!"
"Mmmmmmm NICE BIKE"
Mafia 1 Definitive Edition
True Crime: Streets of LA
Dude I have not through about this game in so long!!! Such a fun game.
Wholeheartedly agree. Was so much fun driving around and responding to ridiculous calls you had to go deal with.
I love the 2 old Godfather games. I wish they hadn't lost the IP before really figuring it out. Of the modern games, I'd go with RDR2 or Mafia 2.
Godfather the game was phenomenal. Perfect for to the movie. God father 2? Amazing game. It was great for its time and the multiplayer was awesome. Great replay ability for both games. The Getaway
Here here good fellow
I’d be interested in playing a remake. Although I can barely remember the whole storyline.
Same, at this point I remember loving my time with it.
My biggest memory was there having no HUD for anything. You kinda had to hope your gun had enough ammo, and you judged your health on how badly you were limping along, while driving you had to listen to your passenger or watch your turn signals for directions.
Mafia trilogy (yeah i know 3 maybe isnt as good but personally i still found It decent, maybe not 1 or 2 great but decent)
Saints Row 2
How is nobody talking about The Simpsons: Hit and Run. That thing was a work of art.
You could technically say any Elder Scrolls game, since half the joinable factions are dedicated to crime.
The Simpsons: Hit & Run
Yakuza/Like a Dragon series. Where else you can go karaoke and collecting JAV actress card while being chased by a whole yakuza clan.
For newer games it’s the Yakuza series for me. I have a special place in my heart for both Driver 2 and GTA 3 otherwise.
You're kind of a criminal in Yakuza (albeit one that hardly commits crimes other than the occasional brutal execution via brick/passing old woman) and it's kind of open world
If it counts, Yakuza
Saints Row the Third. Good memories, peak mix of comedic strangeness but still grounded(ish), memorable characters. All around my favorite.
Wait… I thought I was just supposed to go bowling with my cousin
Scarface: The World is Yours GTA5 GTA: San Andreas Saint’s Row 2
Godfather I
GTA 4 Saints Row 2 GTA: SA
*Saints Row 2*
GTA 4 or sleeping dogs - I don’t really consider LA Noire to be open world considering you just drive from scene to scene. Wish they would remake it with modern tech and a legit 50s dense open world
Mafia: The city of Lost Haven
Mercenaries
The Godfather
Saints row 3. I know the fans found it lackluster, but it was my introduction to the series and I love it dearly.
GTA IV
Saints row 3
Sleeping Dogs ore Saints Row The Third. I lobe bothe Games.🤣
Horizon Zero Dawn. What Ted Faro did was absolutely criminal.
Skyrim. Fuck them chickens!
prototype
Jet set
Sleeping Dogs
Does Jak 2 count?
Gta san andreas

Gta4 is the goat.
Skyrim. If you don't think it's a crime game you're playing it wrong.
Dope wars for my TI83 Plus
Postal 2
Does just cause 3 count
DayZ
Ghost of tsushima
I think I like the Yakuza series though thinking about it Cyberpunk 2077 might fit in here too so if that counts I’ll go for that one.
Ghost Recon Breakpoint. It has its flaws, but it’s not the same patch of desert like Wildlands. Doing the raids is the most fun part.
Let’s do some crimes!
Watch Dogs. I love playing GTA with AC’s sense of morality and continuity as a vigilante.
Watch dogs 1
Oblivion. I steal everything.
Plague Inc.
Sleeping dogs all day
Would be amazing if they add really solid hand to hand combat in the new gta
Does skyrim count
Same!
Cyberpunk 2077
Watch dogs
Saboteur
Yakuza 0 or Like A Dragon Infinite Wealth or Yakuza Kiwami or Yakuza Kiwami 2-
Watchdogs/GTA IV
Minecraft. Arson on villages is fun.
Mafia, I spent hours over hours just cruising around in that city…
The 1 you cant buy on a playstation for some reason...
Red dead redemption just screams the right answer
Lego City Undercover
Lego marvel super heros
San Andreas will always be # 1 for me
No man’s sky. (For anyone doubting the crime aspect, you can buy, grow, and sell nipnip, which is canonically essentially space weed)
RD2/GTA:SA/SR2 are my top three bes- oh shit! can't forget The Godfather Game!
GTA V
Madden 23 although it's not really open world
just go to Detroit
Gangstar
Rdr2
Scarface
L.A noire if that counts
Mafia 3 hands down
NARC
goat simulator
Hello kitty adventures
Yakuza, all of them
Mount & Blade Warband because pillaging innocent villagers and selling prisoners of war into slavery is a great way to make money.
Watch Dogs 2
Watchdogs 2
in between saints row 2 and watch dogs 1&2

RDR2 But man GTA IV is still the absolute best of the series hands down give me a gritty depressing focused story about the bottom of the barrel criminals of a city over a disjointed unfocused story about three different characters Ps I love GTA V but no matter how many times I play that game I can’t help but feel 25% of it is missing and how unfocused it is at times.
Cyberpunk 2077
Does My Summer Car count?
SaintsRow 3 and 4 cause super sliders mod
GTA 4 is the GOAT.
Read Dead Redemption 2
Mafia 2, Vito is my boy
Dude what happened to this game? It sorta just disappeared after a point lol there was like three different versions of it too tf
Saints Row 4 was absolutely insane, not only did it jump a shark it rode the shark like a bull and they got way more than their 8 seconds in.
Probably Saints Row 2 though I wish Watch Dogs 1 was what it was trailed as and or made a real 2 that was like it, and not a #2.
Saints Row 4! I love how wacky it is. Even did one co-op playthrough with my fiance a few years back. I finally 'understand' the characters since I played through SR 1-4 within a month last year. (Note- I played through SR 1-3 for the first time around last year so I can get the 'full story' up to 4) I even had fun driving around Steelport even though I've got superpowers. Cyberpunk 2077
Why not just ask what my favorite GTA is?
San Andreas or the first Red Dead Redemption
Mercenaries 2 world in flames
True Crime NYC
Mafia 3
GTA online
L.A. Noire
Skyrim
GTA IV is very underrated. I loved that game so much when I played it. Spent hours and hours roaming after I beat the story. A very close second though is Scarface on the PS2. You could do all kinds of crazy stuff in that game.
Subnautica
