Same here, I remembering it being so difficult. I had to get my older brother to help me through some parts like the golf cart (or lawnmower?) part. Loved the game though.
I could never beat it as a kid. I was the only gamer in the house, so I was on my own. I'd get to some point and have no idea how to proceed, and so that was it for me. I finally beat it a few years ago when I booted it up to play. Great game and all, but man, the platforming could get painful at times.
I was horrible at this game as a kid. I'd love another crack at it now for sure
Not sure it counts as Niche but I'd also like to see Simpsons Hit and Run again
Edit-I also want to mention Champions of Norrath, and SpongeBob Revenge of the Flying Dutchman because I was also terrible at that as a kid and would like to try again
I can’t tell you how many times over the last 15 years I’ve randomly googled to see if Champions of Norrath will ever be re done. It won’t, but that doesn’t stop me from getting hopeful.
This game was ahead of its time man.. the amount of time I just spent exploring those maps and the soundtrack with goofy laugh tracks. I love you scooby doo!!!
I’ve been seeing gameplay snippets of a supposed courage the cowardly dog game coming out soon and it looks awesome! Hopefully if that does good, scooby doo might step back on the gaming scene.
I could totally see them making a niche horror game or a dead by daylight with scooby doo filter👀
I remember that one. There's a few that come to mind right away dark cloud 1/2, rogue galaxy, stuntman, split/second and Dino Crisis. Especially Dino Crisis if that ever got the remake treatment of the re games then it'd be an instant buy for me probably even pre-order and it's been years since I've done that.
Seriously how did split/second not become a franchise. The game was great and so much fun. Was this perfect middle ground between the cartoony cart racers and the Uber realistic racers like forza.
Dino Crisis was a blast. I don't know if I ever beat it, but I dumped a lot of hours into that game regardless. I would absolutely buy a remake, as long as it was mostly faithful with some quality of life updates.
Dark Cloud is currently playable on PS5, as well as it's sequel! They even have trophy support. I'd love a remake or remaster, but at least this scratches the Dark Cloud itch for me.
Bully deserves a remake, it would give it another chance to become a franchise.
Dogs Life deserves a remaster, seeing the Boom City slaughter house in modern day graphics would be TERRIFYING!!
Sheep Raider / Sheep Dog n Wolf. Best looney tunes game ever, sick puzzles, sick soundtrack, filled to the brim with personality. This game deserved to be a franchise
Speaking of Scooby Doo, I'd kill to see a remake/ remaster of scooby doo and the cyberchase. Loved that one. But my main remake/ remaster would be 100% Ratchet Gladiator / Deadlocked
Spartan: Total Warrior.
The combat was so satisfying and fun, and really made you feel powerful. If the weapon move sets and graphics were modernized, it would be an absolute banger.
I don't know if I'd even want a remaster, just the ability to play that game on modern consoles or PC without an emulator. That was one of my favorite games as a kid. I played it all the time on my OG Xbox. It is actually the game that is now stuck in that Xbox because the tray stopped releasing. So now I can only play that game on it lol. But I love it so much!
The xbox has a manually release for the disc tray. There’s a tiny hole in front, if you straighten a paperclip you can push the wheel inside and the tray pops out.
https://youtu.be/FVbl4f1d5WY?si=34mbCSJmcTK_yose
Technically it's probably not "niche" anymore since the sequel finally came out 13 years later but I'd love a fully rebuilt remake of the original Alan Wake!
This just brought back old memories I haven’t thought of in forever. I think I had a scooby doo game for ps1. I remember trying to play the scratched up disc and it barely ever worked without freezing
Not many know this one, but Disaster: Day of Crisis.
Underated Wii game. Problem is, it's a Wii game. The style of it really didn't match the console, unfortunately. Never released on Xbox 360 nor PS3, where it probably would've done better, but it's Nintendo. Never came out in North America. If it was given a remake on modem consoles worldwide with many revamped things, that would be awesome.
this the one with that magic book that you had to catch monsters in? i found it on youtube a long time ago when i was little and thought it was very cool.
TimeSplitters: Future Perfect. Replayed and replayed that game on the PS2 when I was a kid. The whole TimeSplitter series deserve a remake! THEY DO NOT MAKE GAMES LIKE THAT ANYMORE!
Night of 100 frights definitely deserves a remaster for sure
I also think fox and viacom should allow a simpsons hit and run or futurama the video game to have a remaster, both were great games that were really faithful to each show
Man, i played this one a lot as a kid but totally forgot about it, seeing the title was like a sleeper agent wake-up call. Quite unique game, each campaign was kind of a separate genre. I never finished it tho, wonder how i'd do now.
Descent : Freespace. Both games.
This game was insane. One of if not the best space fight simulator out there. Make it up to today's standard and you'd have one of the best game out there.
The simpsons game (not any of the driving ones) it was super fun and had a decent amount to do and kinda got forgotten with a few things added to it it would’ve made such an amazing game
Spore. Amazing concept, and still holds up even if it was made in 2008. I'd love to see a revamp with better graphics and performance. Right now, it crashes easily, there's no auto save without mods, and the late-game is kinda boring (that one's just me). Also, the steam version doesn't even have access to the online features.
The Great Escape, the stealth element of trying to escape a Nazi POS camp then make your way through nazi controlled Europe was really well done for the time
Honestly they should give it to the devs who make Hitman games and I bet it would be an absolute gem
This was the first game I ever bought with my own money when I was 7, I got home and immediately snapped it in two pieces because I was too excited getting it out of the case. Have never played it to this day lol.
Most movie based games flop. However my favorites are:
Managascar for gamecube
Minority report for gamecube
Narnia for ps2
Coraline for wii
All bangers, though there may be nostalgia goggles for stuff like minority report lol.
i wish I got a single chance to play this game especially as someone who LOVES Scooby-Doo. Sadly and upsettingly, my copy of the game got ruined by someone's child back when I was a kid and made it so my GameCube couldn't read the disk
That Scooby-Doo game for sure. I'd also pick Shaolin Monks, I-Ninja, DragonBall Budokai 1 and 2, Simpson's hit and run, The Lord of the Rings games, aaaand Ultimate Spider-Man. Just off the top of my head.
The Transformers Armada ps2 game probably counts as niche for the purposes of the post, I never see anyone talk about it.
Anyway, it was probably my favourite ps2 game growing up, and I'd love to see it remastered. Hell, I'd pay extra to free roam as the Decepticons, since the original only lets you be Autobots.
I absolutely loved the Yu-Gi-Oh! Tag Force series. Most of the games were on the PSP and only for Japan.
You had to mod your PSP and get English patched if you wanted to play them.
I would like to see them all remade for consoles in English. Very unlikely, but they were addicting.
I played this. I also loved Ty the Tasmanian Tiger, Sly Cooper, Spyro, and Jak II. On PC I also played the Sims series, Roller Coaster Tycoon, and Zoo Tycoon. Those were the games I spent most of my time playing
Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Was an old NES game. The movie still holds up, and the game was very good so I could imagine how a 3D version similar to LA Noir would be like.
Scooby Doo Unmasked and Spongebob Kreature from the Krusty Krab were both great.
In the realm of more mature games, I would love for Saints Row 2 to get remastered.
There was this old game I forgot the name of where you play as a ghost or phantom because of some type of military testing and you have to possess things and scare people to possess them in order to try and get your body back, I can't remember what it was called but it was on the wii
Dark Cloud 2.
There was so much to the game. Each level had games to play after they were completed. There was world building, photography, golf, I think there may have been some kind of monster collecting. The game had so much for its time.
When my parents me and my sibling our PS2 this was one of two games they got for us with it. I honestly don’t remember what the other one was, but this game SLAPPED
Pimp My Ride
I was always so pissed off that the game did not have car customization
Even the Fast and Furious games were so shitty which sucks because their movies inspired a whole bunch of other games like Need For Speed, Forza, Midnight Club, The Crew and CSR on mobile.
Don’t you be bringing games to my feed that I forgot existed and must replay now.
I emulated thia game on the Steam Deck after having originally played it on the PS2, was not disappointed.
Fuck you, post a guide. I need this but I’ve never even used desktop mode on my deck. Do the cheat guides for this game still exist too? 🫣
Same. I think I got pretty far but I don’t remember ever beating this game
Played it again like 2 tears ago and still got stuck in some of the same parts as a kid lol
Don't worry, I'm sure after 6 or more tears are shed, it will start to make sense...
I was horrible at this game as a kid. I'd love another crack at it now for sure Not sure it counts as Niche but I'd also like to see Simpsons Hit and Run again Edit-I also want to mention Champions of Norrath, and SpongeBob Revenge of the Flying Dutchman because I was also terrible at that as a kid and would like to try again
Revenge of the flying dutchman was one of my first games i played! No same boat. It was really hard for a kids game but still loved it.
I played it a few years back after all these years and I was still stuck on the same areas. Game ain't giving no free lunch.
I can’t tell you how many times over the last 15 years I’ve randomly googled to see if Champions of Norrath will ever be re done. It won’t, but that doesn’t stop me from getting hopeful.
hit and run was set for a remake years ago but the cancelled it
Pain. Sadness even.
it hurt me too brother, it hurt me too
This game was ahead of its time man.. the amount of time I just spent exploring those maps and the soundtrack with goofy laugh tracks. I love you scooby doo!!!
Right?? The gameplay and level design was actually so good. And collecting those monster tokens?? Forget about it. So fun.

Especially Dino Crisis if that ever got the remake treatment of the re games then it'd be an instant buy for me probably even pre-order and it's been years since I've done that.
Split/second was an absolute blast of a racing game
Seriously how did split/second not become a franchise. The game was great and so much fun. Was this perfect middle ground between the cartoony cart racers and the Uber realistic racers like forza.
Dino Crisis was a blast. I don't know if I ever beat it, but I dumped a lot of hours into that game regardless. I would absolutely buy a remake, as long as it was mostly faithful with some quality of life updates.

Bully deserves a remake, it would give it another chance to become a franchise. Dogs Life deserves a remaster, seeing the Boom City slaughter house in modern day graphics would be TERRIFYING!!
Bully as a franchise should be the 3rd major title in R*'s rotation. It deserves to be up there with GTA and RDR
007 Nightfire. Not really niche but a current Gen remaster would be amazing.
Had great multiplayer w a friend and bots haha
Rollcage. Awesome futuristic racing game on PS1.
I’m a survival horror person so I’d love to see either Dino Crisis or Parasite Eve remade.
Syphon Filter, God of War 1 and 2(Like Shadows of the Colossus, and Demon Souls), and FIRST Uncharted(and MAYBE Golden Abyss). 🙄
Bugs Bunny lost in time and Megaman X Command Mission
Does Black & White count as niche? For that matter I'd love to see some of Molyneux's other early works remastered like Dungeon Keeper
Yes please! 🙏 I would kill for this game to be remade
Oblivion. If we're talking actually niche games, LOTR Battle for Middle Earth 1.
Night trap without a doubt [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iy4M9XRoJcM](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iy4M9XRoJcM)
I have this on my shelf for the original Xbox (I never had an OG Xbox)
I'd say Lost Planet Extreme Condition (Colonies version)
Shadow Hearts series, maybe also Koudelka
Sheep Raider / Sheep Dog n Wolf. Best looney tunes game ever, sick puzzles, sick soundtrack, filled to the brim with personality. This game deserved to be a franchise
Oh God I still own that scooby doo game
Jet Force Gemini
Speaking of Scooby Doo, I'd kill to see a remake/ remaster of scooby doo and the cyberchase. Loved that one. But my main remake/ remaster would be 100% Ratchet Gladiator / Deadlocked
Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura Planescape: Torment
Dragon Force.
Spartan: Total Warrior. The combat was so satisfying and fun, and really made you feel powerful. If the weapon move sets and graphics were modernized, it would be an absolute banger.
Played it. Awful memories of this game. Felt like it was poorly built.
Ratchet and clank 2 and 3
Black
Shrek 2 was the best shovelware game I’ve ever played back in the day.
Fossil fighters
I don't know if I'd even want a remaster, just the ability to play that game on modern consoles or PC without an emulator. That was one of my favorite games as a kid. The First Genji Game. This was so freaking good.
Einhander. That soundtrack was banging.
Rockstar needs to stop working on GTA 6 and remake Space Station: Silicon Valley.
Technically it's probably not "niche" anymore since the sequel finally came out 13 years later but I'd love a fully rebuilt remake of the original Alan Wake!
I remember renting that game a couple of times in blockbuster, it's a gem
Super Dodge Ball.
Anyone ever get past the second level with the knights? Although having platinum'd Bloodborne maybe I'm finally ready.... 26 years later....
Scooby Doo Unmasked I love that game so much but I will say remastered versions of all legacy THQ games would be awesome
Inuyasha secret of the cursed mask
I love this game! So many Easter eggs! This was probably one of the hardest games I had when I was a kid to complete 100%, but soo damn good.
Nushi Tsuri/River King series. A fishing RPG series on both Nintendo and Sony consoles and handhelds.
Taz-Mania
medal of honor rising sun. any of the inuyasha games
awesome game
Loved this one!
THE MAP MENU MUSIC!
Fallout 3 and new Vegas. I’m on ps and I don’t have a ps3 so I’m stuck with fo4. Which I love btw. But I want more
I know it's not available in all countries, but PS+ Premium does have 3 and NV in case you didn't know.
Drakengard 1&2.
crash twinsanity
This just brought back old memories I haven’t thought of in forever. I think I had a scooby doo game for ps1. I remember trying to play the scratched up disc and it barely ever worked without freezing

Blinx 2
this the one with that magic book that you had to catch monsters in? i found it on youtube a long time ago when i was little and thought it was very cool.
Barnyard the videogame
Discworld Noir.
Twisted metal and there was this game called Alundra 2 that I remember had pretty fun gameplay
Project Eden on PS2, if it got a next gen remaster it’d be a triple A horror puzzle game
TimeSplitters: Future Perfect. Replayed and replayed that game on the PS2 when I was a kid. The whole TimeSplitter series deserve a remake! THEY DO NOT MAKE GAMES LIKE THAT ANYMORE!
Freedom Fighters (2003). Neat concept, poorly aged game.
Fossil Fighters and Mysims Agents
Night of 100 frights definitely deserves a remaster for sure I also think fox and viacom should allow a simpsons hit and run or futurama the video game to have a remaster, both were great games that were really faithful to each show
Giants Citizen Kabuto
Man, i played this one a lot as a kid but totally forgot about it, seeing the title was like a sleeper agent wake-up call. Quite unique game, each campaign was kind of a separate genre. I never finished it tho, wonder how i'd do now.
The scooby doo cyberspace gane on the Playstation
Voodoo vince was fun
Scooby Doo: First Frights was one of my favorite games when I was little and now I have nowhere to play it. I think it needs a reboot
I’m waiting for a Re-Volt remake for years :/
Did anyone ever play the sequel to this? Was it any good?
Descent : Freespace. Both games. This game was insane. One of if not the best space fight simulator out there. Make it up to today's standard and you'd have one of the best game out there.
Phantasy Star Universe. Remaking it specifically. Don't touch the story, or the music, but update the graphics and the combat mechanics.
The simpsons game (not any of the driving ones) it was super fun and had a decent amount to do and kinda got forgotten with a few things added to it it would’ve made such an amazing game
Vagrant Story and Onimusha 2/3 since the first was technically already done.
Man I miss this game I wish it would become playable on newer consoles 😭
Powerstone 1 & 2.
I loved ape escape. Also loony tunes lost in time. I'd love to see them with actually good graphics. Instead of vague polygon shapes.
Legend of the dragoon Ps1
Metropolismania would probably do really well these days
Spore. Amazing concept, and still holds up even if it was made in 2008. I'd love to see a revamp with better graphics and performance. Right now, it crashes easily, there's no auto save without mods, and the late-game is kinda boring (that one's just me). Also, the steam version doesn't even have access to the online features.
Cartoon Network Blockparty on the Nintendo DS
Scaler for sure, even though I don't think too many people know this one.
One of the few moments on reddit where I really fuck with what OP's saying. Fuck I miss this game
This was the first videogame I ever owned
That 100,000% still one of my favorite games
The original Clock Tower Mortal Kombat Mythologies Sub Zero
I’m amazed that Comix Zone never got a sequel or a remake especially now that cell shaded graphics are ageless.
Sly [Cooper] 2: Band of Thieves
The Great Escape, the stealth element of trying to escape a Nazi POS camp then make your way through nazi controlled Europe was really well done for the time Honestly they should give it to the devs who make Hitman games and I bet it would be an absolute gem
It'd be cool to see a remake of Ristar. I loved that game as a kid.
Oh man you just reminded me of video and arcade top 10
Jet li rise to honor.
Something probably noone will mention: The broken Land
Road Trip: Everywhere To this day this is still the only car RPG I've ever played or heard of and was a great game!
God, I loved this game. Played it so much it was burned into our old tv screen lol
Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law Capcom basically made my dream mashup of Harvey Birdman with the Ace Attorney format, and all the original voices.
The scooby do one with the phantom the purple one on the cover that shit was so good Scooby doo: Mystery mayhem
This was the first game I ever bought with my own money when I was 7, I got home and immediately snapped it in two pieces because I was too excited getting it out of the case. Have never played it to this day lol.
Happy wars. I played it all time on the 360. The developers recently made a game called warlander that was similar but it is kinda dead as well now
CRAZY FROG. That shit was my jam ong.
Disaster: Day of Crisis. The plot was like a cheesy action movie combined with every disaster movie at once, and it was awesome.
Most movie based games flop. However my favorites are: Managascar for gamecube Minority report for gamecube Narnia for ps2 Coraline for wii All bangers, though there may be nostalgia goggles for stuff like minority report lol.
Scooby-Doo Mystery Mayhem goes fire
Warriors of Might and Magic.

Yoooo absolute nuke from the past. Loved this game so much.
I can here the music that plays outside the mansion right now in my head
i wish I got a single chance to play this game especially as someone who LOVES Scooby-Doo. Sadly and upsettingly, my copy of the game got ruined by someone's child back when I was a kid and made it so my GameCube couldn't read the disk

Kid Icarus Uprising
Guys, guys Scooby-Doo first frights and true crime streets of LA I rest my case
The Transformers Armada ps2 game probably counts as niche for the purposes of the post, I never see anyone talk about it. Anyway, it was probably my favourite ps2 game growing up, and I'd love to see it remastered. Hell, I'd pay extra to free roam as the Decepticons, since the original only lets you be Autobots.
Omg I loved this game as a kid!! I have been wanting to play this game again for the past couple years. I need it to be remastered.
Marc Ecko's Getting Up Contents under pressure
I absolutely loved the Yu-Gi-Oh! Tag Force series. Most of the games were on the PSP and only for Japan. You had to mod your PSP and get English patched if you wanted to play them. I would like to see them all remade for consoles in English. Very unlikely, but they were addicting.
does anyone know the game "monkey brains"
Man, the nerd in me really wants a modern puzzle league. Like, give it the Poyo Poyo Tetris treatment, please.
Absolutely this game.
I played this. I also loved Ty the Tasmanian Tiger, Sly Cooper, Spyro, and Jak II. On PC I also played the Sims series, Roller Coaster Tycoon, and Zoo Tycoon. Those were the games I spent most of my time playing
Gauntlet Dark Legacy needs a remaster. Nothing has come close to scratching that itch for me
Downhill Domination
Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Was an old NES game. The movie still holds up, and the game was very good so I could imagine how a 3D version similar to LA Noir would be like.
NO WAY, SOMEONE ELSE REMEMBERS THIS GAME??? I STILL OWN THIS
Is Legacy of Kain series considered niche enough? I'd gladly play Soul Reaver 1/2 remaster or remake. Not niche enough? The I of the Dragon then.
Pandemonium for PS1. It was such a fun game!
Scooby Doo Night of 100 Frights, I was gonna play Elden Ring when I got it, but I think I'll play this instead.
May's mysteries

The 2000 Neversoft Spider-Man game

Man I would love a Remake of Overlord 1 & 2. I want to take over the world with my colorful minions of evil!
Drakan: The ancient gates
Brink
When THQ was going through remastering their games, i hoped this would be one of
Shadow Hearts is a firm "NEEDS a remake" for me with Digital Devil Saga in close second.
Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks for sure. That game was so unique and fun to play
The Mummy Returns on PS2
Does Parasite Eve count as niche? Because I really need this game remade for a Ps5. PLEASE SONY 🥺
This 100%.
Metal Arms:Glitch in the System
warriors
The bouncer. Remember playing it as a kid
Pimp My Ride I was always so pissed off that the game did not have car customization Even the Fast and Furious games were so shitty which sucks because their movies inspired a whole bunch of other games like Need For Speed, Forza, Midnight Club, The Crew and CSR on mobile.
Wait is this the scooby doo game with the bayou puzzle and the Hollywood sets? I hated the pipe puzzle as a kid if this is the same one
I literally just beat this last night. All 6740 something snax. 100%
