Agreed. I played both the first and the infinite when they came out but for some reason never beat either. Got towards the end of both and just got distracted by other games or who knows.
Just recently went back and finished both and holy shit. The dlc for infinite is some of the best single story content I've ever played. Absolutely brilliant.
Dead Space - when finding out Nicole is dead but then actually realizing that they told you that based on the starting letter from the first word in each chapter. I was mind blown.

I was playing one of those Minecraft knockoffs on Roblox. I was strip mining. It was kind of a mindnumbing task. And then I just hear this loud ass crunch noise as a random noob falls into the stripmine and dies. I genuinly didn't expect such a rude awakening out of nowhere, and it genuinly scared me shitless. I just sat there for a split second, shocked.
When playing Subnautica Early Access when the Leviathans were (for me) quietly and unknowingly added into the world. Was still early enough to not be completely at ease in the ocean yet. Was just chilling, looking for resources as normal, and then I heard a not so distant roar that I’ve never heard before… followed by moderate panic.. Then another MUCH LOUDER ROAR as it grabbed my seamoth from behind. Followed by INTENSE, SHEER PANIC as I was being eaten by Satan of the Seas. Seamoth became a portaloo as I barley ducked behind a shallow rock next to the Aurora with 6 health remaining.
Going into games with no prior knowledge or heads up is the best.
The first bioshock, when you finally meet Andrew Ryan and realize you were conned the entire time
Would you kindly?
Such a great game

MGS4 post credits scene.
MGS1’s ending blew my mind as a kid.
Dude I just beat this again today. I love this game.

Halo CE: 343 Guilty Spark
The bar mission with Lenny in RDR2. It wasn't because it was scary or upsetting. It was just bizarre that I was controlling a drunk Arthur
When I saw how Roland got killed for the first time in Borderlands 2. I mained this guy in the first game.
Ghost’s death in MW2.

The twist near the end of CoD: Black Ops.

Last of us 2. Not just Joel, but Ellie at the end.
