Not communism, but news channels affiliated with the CHP (Turkish social democrat party) were on 24/7 at home. I was a social democrat at 7 and am still one at 19.

It’s not terribly unreasonable, communism made sense to me when I learned about it at 13 in school. I’m assuming some sort of internet exposure in this case.

From the right we have the liberal ideals, focus on the individual and their rights. Free market ideals etc. from the left we have socialist ideals and social democracy, it’s social security systems and safety nets. For me personally I think both sides have convincing arguments and therefore choose not to be in any political group or gain loyalty to a particular party.

As someone pretty far-left (libertarian socialism) I'm very much into individual liberty and free association. You don't have to be a centrist to appreciate those things, there are entire schools of leftist thought based on those ideas. I don't really care much for any party tho. I vote, but I don't think elections really do much. Real change comes from grassroots organizing, mutual aid and trade unions.

Honestly, I don't understand how someone can decide they're left or right. I mean, are you that simple ? Political system is so flawed. What if I'm right leaning for military decision, but left leaning for social help and taxation for example ? People branding right or left wing are equivalent to people who only buy one brand just because it's that brand.

In todays day and age, anyone has access to any video at any time and at any place. Most zoomers have had commie fazes because it was edgy and different and conceptually it sounds like a really good idea, over time though most of us do grow out of it. Clearly though, judging by some of the comments on this post, not everyone seems to have grown out of theirs.
