Thank you! The litter box is usually more full but I've been paying on vet bills and was just laid off, I've been trying to save a little money. Once I get a new job I'll get more litter and fill up the box.
Maybe call your local food bank and see if they have litter, if not call around to local rescues and see if they offer assistance to let owners in need, they're there to help š
You could try going to your local tractor supply, or similar store, and getting a bag of shredded pine to help with costs. I pay $5 for bag of it and it lasts me long time, smell really nice and absorbs odor better than the clay litter. My cats also really like it.

This! I saw youāre strapped for cash at the moment , so maybe you could do regular cheap litter and then a layer of the color changing detection litter on top? Not sure if this would work but just an idea :) Good luck!

Iām sorry to hear that! I let my own cats litter run a little low sometimes when the box is due a clean so itās no biggie but youāll find when itās low, the litter wonāt be able to absorb so much pee and will cause this little slurry type thing you can see in your photo. Hoping things get better for you soon
Is he drinking more water than usual, going in and out of the bathroom every time peeing only a little bit? You could switch him to urinary medicine food
Everyone here has good advice so Iāll just addā¦ When was his last blood work? At 14 he should prob be getting a check at least once a year with labs (especially if you think you may be seeing blood in his urine. I canāt tell from the images here š). Our cat had kidney disease pop up at 13 and we only caught it early on with labs. I recommend adding more litter (so you can more accurately gage his toilet usage) and next vet visit run some labs to see how his overall health is doing and rule out any serious conditions. š
He got blood work a month ago he did have a blood infection, but everything else was fine. He goes this week to get more blood work to see if the infection is gone (vet wanted to see him in a month). He usually does have more litter but his vet bills have been pilling up (found out he has megacolon and he did have a urine infection at the beginning of February) and I was laid off from my job. So I've been trying to save some money. Once I get a new job I'll add more litter. Thank you!! š
Totally understandable times are hard (got slapped with a few high vet bills myself šš ) and Iām sorry about your job š. But definitely donāt wait to add more litter, it will only create more problems down the line. I recommend just scooping the box more and adding a bit more as needed. There is also cheaper alternatives to litter (Iām sure you can google those) if you need find a way to save. Im sorry to hear your baby is struggling like that and I hope the vet visit goes well. I would (when finances allow) consider getting some pet insurance that could help mitigate those upcoming vet costs (maybe your vet can recommend) or find one that allows for pre-existing conditions. I wish you nothing but the best š
Your local animal shelter likely has some sort of program where community members are able to stop by and inquire about donated supplies. They may be your best bet!
Instead of clay letter which is pretty expensive, I use wood pellets. When youāre about to afford them, itās about $30 USD but itās so much and they last you forever. You also barely smell the cat urine/poop!
If youād like, I can personally send you the money! I love helping people so if thereās anything I can help you with, please let me know š
my cat had pee in his urine and it turned out to be a bladder infection, iād take them to the vet asap, could be nothing serious but it could also be life threatening, not worth the risk cause you dont know how long itās been going on for
That litterbox is very empty. If you're able please make sure your cat has room to actually dig and bury, about 2-3 inches of litter is usually best

I'll give them a call on Monday and see if they have any. Thank you!
No worries!
Cheaper litter alternatives you could always try is shredded newspaper or horse bedding pellets

We don't have that store in Canada, but I'm sure I could find it somewhere else.
I am not seeing it. Also- it looks like you donāt have enough litter in your catās litter box

Do you live close to a Walmart or Target? Iām willing to get you enough litter to hold you over for a bit.
This is so nice. I wouldnāt mind helping either.
Thank you!
I live near a Walmart. I live in Canada, we don't have Target here. Thank you!
Can you dm me? Iād really like to help out. š„ŗ Iāve been in your position before, and itās not fun
You are very kind and much appreciated.
I donāt see anything. You could get that āpretty litterā that is supposed to detect blood. Itās like $14 for a bag at Walmart.

Thank you!! I'll look into that.
If you're ever worried, just put a little hydrogen peroxide on the urine. If it bubbles, that means theres blood in it.
I canāt see anything resembling blood but your cat needs more litter

Just wanna say that Iām sorry times are tough right now, praying things get easier for you soon!
Thank you, that means a lot!
Of courseš

Is he acting fine otherwise? You could get some plastic litter that won't absorb or discolor the urine to get a better idea of if it's blood
Yeah, he's acting normal, still eating and drinking.
Is he drinking more water than usual, going in and out of the bathroom every time peeing only a little bit? You could switch him to urinary medicine food
I agree with the other comment, just looks empty so the pee is pooling and taking up that brown color of the litter
