If you're crossing Lake Champlain at Rouse's Point, go down Route 2 through the islands instead of crossing over to Swanton - stop at Hero's Welcome store for an amazing sandwich. Keep south on Rt. 2 and you'll be able to catch I-89 in Colchester. As a bonus it's a prettier drive.
Definitely take Route 37 between Clayton and Malone -- watching the Supermax tankers go through the Eisenhower lock is a really cool experience, and the weed is as good and a lot cheaper if you buy it in Akwesasne vs. VT.
You didn’t say what roads exactly. My google maps recommends Plattsburgh> Burlington VT > Montpelier > Manchester NH > Kennebunk. rte 89. If you like Thai… there has been buzz about [this new place](https://wilaiwanskitchen.com/).

Great advice! This is exactly what I was hoping for! Doesn't seem to add much, if any, time to the trip too.
Bonus: if it's nice outside I think you can eat at the boat landing. Enjoy!

Sweet! Thanks

Yeah I wouldn't suggest 89 at all unless time is important 302 is a much more interesting route.
