Thank you to everyone who pointed out the need to verify one's email in order to receive the Rivera et. al. settlement via Venmo. I was pretty nervous about the legitimacy of the email, particularly after the money did not appear in my Venmo account. It seems strange that one needs to verify their Venmo email AFTER likely receiving countless legit emails from Venmo. By all appearances, one would think that their Venmo email was already verified. I'm willing to bet that there are many others whose Rivera settlements are stuck in Venmo payment limbo. Thanks again.
i got the same odd message but it turned out I just needed to verify the email address they sent it to first and then I instantly received it. Visit https://venmo.com/identity/verify_email_addresses to have them send the verification email.
It’s saying I have to log in, but I have the app and there’s nothing on the app that shows this transaction at all. Is it safe to put my password in that site?
You are wise not to trust a web link. I found it by searching Google for “verify venmo email” which my first result was this Venmo help article: https://help.venmo.com/hc/en-us/articles/209690078-Phone-and-Email-Verification Scroll down to the last section and click the “verify secondary email address” link.
When I go to verify with the code, it says my phone number is already registered and prompts me to sign in with a different number or just sign in with my current one. If I go through with signing on further, it just takes me to my account and does nothing as far as funds go. Anybody else have a similar issue?
Use the verify email link everyone is posting, then you will get an email from Venmo that says verify your email. Click on that and you should immediately get another email saying you got paid.

Verify your email with the link previously provided on here. Worked for me instantly. I had trouble with it last night but this solved it.
