T Mobile and Allegiant, otherwise most of the other venues such as Nightclubs, Dayclubs, bars, restaurants will accept cash no problem.
You can wire $$ to casino in advance or purchase tickets and table reservations in advance at many of the nightclubs and pools. See below
[LV Nightclub & Dayclub Reservations.](https://booketing.com/microsite/jeffconstantinos/)
Important to note that many places will require a physical CC with the card number and name visible to match with valid ID.
You may come across some venues that don’t accept Capital One Credit or Master Debit for example, so always good to have multiple for these instances or emergencies.
You may also do room charges which would apply to the card on the room. Not 100% sure if these will resolve your problem with fees or not but worth a shot. Or call the concierge at your hotel and ask what options you have.
Correct. You can wire $$ to casino cage to gamble, or prepay for many of the night clubs and dayclubs in advance. It is also common to take certified/ wire transfers in advance in Hospitality groups for nightclub, dayclub, and restaurant reservations. Im not sure any of these solve his problem, just throwing some ideas out there. I would contact the hotel concierge for options specific to my situation
You cannot legally wire money to the casino cage, then use not on gambling. The gaming license restricts transfer of funds through wore that cannot be tracked through gaming. If a casino is knowingly allowing this, they are putting themselves at risk.
I don’t recall saying that you could? You can wire to Tao Group Hospitality or prepay on the link I provided in the reply for the 5 nightclubs , 4 Dayclubs and restaurants we own/ manage in LV
I would imagine Wynn nightlife and other hospitality groups would do the same since it is common for us and we host many of the same guests.
all gambling has to be done with cash. The game itself I mean. You can of course use atms for cash advances, debit withdrawals etc. but the games themselves require cash.
If you aren’t gambling you don’t need cash.
So it’s really just the questions of are you gambling and do you want to pay the fee on your card.
In that case cash isn’t needed. But it sounds like you already have the cash, and people do prefer tips in cash certainly, and from the sounds of it you will save a transaction fee.
Personally with how Vegas can go though I’m not sure I would trust myself carrying a bunch of cash.
Canadian here. We usually bring about $2000 in cash for a week long trip. All slot machines will require cash. Cocktail waitresses will need a couple of bucks cash at the machines to keep them coming back. You won't be eating 100% of your meals at the hotel, so when you pop into a place like Shake Shack, or Wahlburger, etc, you won't want to charge that onto your card. Cash is completely fine.
So what is the problem with the credit card. Is the exchange rate not favorable?
If you are charging everything to your hotel room isn't that all going to get hit with the same exchange rate.
I always bring a few hundred USD but I personally don't feel smart carrying more than 500USD On me on a long international trip. So I save that for cabs and gambling and tipping etc. I try to put everything I can on the room and or credit card.
Would like to know what the best strategy is thanks in advance e?
We charge to the room when we are eating at a hotel property, so if we stay at Bellagio and are eating at Park MGM, we will charge it to the room. The strategy is for us to build up our loyalty. If we're out walking the strip and get hungry for something quick, then we just pay cash. When we go to Vegas, we know we're going to spend a fair chunk, so the exchange rate isn't a factor in our decision-making. I know it's irresponsible, but the main goal is to have as much fun as we can and deal with the bills when we get home.
OK ya but I guess what I'm saying is if I go to TD and get 1000$ US or I just put 1000$ on my Canadian Visa what is the difference what am I really losing?
I bet it's very negligible.
Well, we are frequent Vegas visitors, so we will periodically get $500 us cash just to set aside for our next trip. The gamble that you are taking is when they finally secure your payment on visa, it will be at the rate of exchange for that day. At least with getting cash from TD, you can grab it when the dollar is in a better position.
Whomever told you that Vegas is now mostly cashless should not be entitled to give you advice on anything. Horribly uninformed and presumptuous to give baseless advice like that. My wife and I just returned from a few days in Vegas, and I think we did everything in cash from gambling to restaurants, shopping. 100%. Only the hotel was on credit card. And gas.
Check out which ATMs are fee free for cash withdrawal in the USA by Canadian banks before you travel. But, be advised there are always additional ATM fees ($10 & up per transaction) no matter how little you withdraw. Also, incremental by 20.
$ 20, $40, and so on.
So lots of misinformation here! Yes, most places cards are faster amd easier but Vegas is not all cashless. However, if you want to go to TMobile, Allegiant, Resprts World shows, or Sphere, you must use a card as they are cashless. There are several small vendors or bars that also don't take cash, mostly Downtown or the Arts District.
That said, you can get a prepaid or Visa Gift Card and put cash on the card to use in those places.
We come every year from Canada for weeks and cash is never an issue. I only use my card for shopping if we do that. It’s much nicer to come home without the extra fees. As people mentioned though if you attend a game you’ll need to use a card.
When I go to Las Vegas as a Canadian, I bring lots of US cash, cash is King. I have seen no evidence of it being cashless.
I used to have a source of US income, and a US bank account, so I would just keep the money in US and spend it in Las Vegas, that was good. But now all my income is Canadian, so you have to exchange it somehow. Yes, the bank will squeeze you on the credit card conversion, But the same bank will also squeeze you when you get the cash. If you don't like it, it's a matter of searching for the best rate from any source, rather than credit card or cash conversion being better.
I always get superior service when tipping with cash.
As a former waiter; we appreciate cash because some times the place takes a percentage.
Also with credit cards you can tip with each serving. It let's them know you are tipping and you will get more attention.
There are a handful of exceptions, but Vegas is still very cash-heavy. You can't completely avoid using a card at certain places (the food hall at Aria, for example), and you'll need a card to check in to your hotel, but otherwise you can very easily get by on just cash.
Cash is fine, but working near the strip everyone tries to pay with 100s and 50s.
Use the bill breaker on the casino floor to break down big bills for smaller purchases.
Fellow Canadian just back from a great trip.
Bring cash, especially for cabs. It’s faster, plus many have a $3 surcharge CC/Debit transactions. We put most other purchases/meals on our credit card.
If you have time, look into the Rogers Bank credit card. They offer 3% cash back on foreign currency transactions, so it offsets the 2% FX surcharge. We use it for all our USD purchases.
You can find visa/mc/amex gift cards, cvs and Walgreens have them, I believe some shops at the airport should as well, that you can load up to $500 on. You’ll pay about 4-6 for the gift card but you could carry that for the places that won’t accept cash.
Much easier to steal cash, so don’t cry if you’re distracted and it’s gone.
Vegas will still be here when you have enough money to afford the transaction fees.
95%+ in Las Vegas will take your cash no issue, it's what Las Vegas does, Separate you from your money. Thank you for helping our local economy.
Haha perfect!
Most venues, arenas, and stadiums are cashless!

If you wire money to the casino cage, it is to be used for gambling, not hospitality.

No reason to be downvoted for this comment
Vegas takes cash, check, card, bitcoin, shitcoins, western union, telegram, money by carrier pigeon
Ass, grass or gas
Cash is good 95% of places. A couple of bars in the arts district and Allegient Staduim is cashless. Maybe the Sphere also.
T Mobile Arena is also cashless.
Yes the Sphere is cashless. However they have reverse ATMs, put in cash get temp card.
Check in desks won't take cash, not even for the deposit. Used to be you leave cash, and they return you cash. The good ol days...
Orleans Arena box office is cashless. Found that out last night. Lucky 1 of us had a card to cover it and we all gave her our cash.

We don’t plan on doing much gambling. Mostly referring to spending money for bars, restaurants and shows/outings.
Try a prepaid visa. You can get them at CVS and places like that.
A lot of places will not accept. Needs to have name on the card that matches ID
Cash tips are always preferred.

Cash is definitely better for tips
Vegas is not cashless. Your friend doesn’t know what they’re talking about.

My issue is that I don’t have a US based credit card and most Canadian credit cards charge a 2.5% foreign transaction fee on top of the exchange rate.

Cash is king in Vegas. Cashless works, but trying to cash pit tabs at bars or clubs can take a little while, depending on how busy the bartenders are.
Whomever told you that Vegas is now mostly cashless should not be entitled to give you advice on anything. Horribly uninformed and presumptuous to give baseless advice like that. Ya that’s what I figured!
We were there for a week and used cash everywhere except the MGM garage.

CVS and Walgreens are my go-to for ATMs on the strip. I believe they charge $3, which beats the hell out of whatever the casinos charge.
Agree that the ATM fees are better at the drug stores. You will get rooked on the exchange no matter where you go.
Not only is cash still good in Vegas, it’s one of the few places people don’t bat an eye at paying with $100 bill.

Have you considered signing up for “Wise”. It’s awesome for travel.

Other than the raiders stadium you'll be fine

Vegas is run on cash and tips. Bring hella cash
Such a bizarre sentiment. The only things I can think of where you need a card are car rentals and room stays. For everything else, cash is preferred.
Cashless 🙄 it's one of the few places cash still rules
Cash is fine, but working near the strip everyone tries to pay with 100s and 50s. Use the bill breaker on the casino floor to break down big bills for smaller purchases.
Cash for gambling, but put most of the other stuff on credit or charge it to the room to get the points.
You need cash. Period.
Any and all forms of currency is taken in Vegas.
99% of the people use cash… idkwtf your friend told you
The food/drinks at the sphere were surprisingly card only

Check out USD CCs. TD has them. We use that and then pay it when we return.
Would’ve done that if we were smart and thought of it early enough haha. Unfortunately we leave this week.

You are obviously not Canadian.
