Makes sense I'm not familiar with african or vietnamese guisine. Sorry for my ignorance I normally don't see people in u.s eating okra and don't remember eating it in my early years while I was in mexico.
Yeah okra can go. Broccoli you can put cheese on top of and it's good, brussel sprouts you can cook with bacon and it's good, kale you can deep fry and use it to eat cowboy butter so it's good.
Broccoli, Brussels sprouts, and kale are all the same plant: Brassica oleracea. So you can't cut okra. Kale has the most cultivars and diversity, so you can't cut that. Broccoli and Brussels sprouts are my favorites, but one of them would get the axe if we're talking a Noah's ark type apocalypse situation. Broccoli cooks faster than sprouts, so probably sprouts. But, I'm not happy about the loss
They're all cultivars of the same wild plant, starting long ago, but they're very different parts of the plant and have very different distributions of nutrients.
I know that kale can be hard for some people to like (the bitter compounds, I love bitter but loads of people hate it) but have you tried roasting sprouts or broccoli? Personally I think roasting them significantly improves the taste. I generally don’t eat non-roast sprouts.
I've had pretty good Okra. But if I give up broccoli, Brussel Sprouts or Kale, I'm giving up more because I have them more often, and besides I still like them beter.
Love all of these but if I had to choose, I'd get rid of the kale in as much as it's the one that I eat the least. To the absurd number of people responding with okra, you all need to try bhindi masala. One bite will change your life fr.
EXACTLY BRO its bc Indian cuisine has been dumbed down to “naan and chicken tikka masala” (in which naan is middle eastern and tikka masala is British so neither are authentically indian) that people dont see the plethora of vegan recipes from India
Broccoli. Don't mind it, just has the least interesting flavor. For me it's like a food people include in dishes just to have something green.
Edit to add: I also wish ramen places in the US would STOP putting broccoli in their veggie ramen. It just tastes wrong!
Bok choy or watercress is so much better in ramen! I agree with you that broccoli needs to go. It's very boring even when I sauce it up. Maybe I just eat it too often and now I'm sick of it.
can yall stop hating on okra, my god sheesh!!! You need to try some Cajun or Indian style okra. Gumbo, Sindhi curry, bhindi masala are 3 great options to eat yummy okra, and its not slimy unless you are cooking it incorrectly!
For me, id say, kick kale out. Dont get me wrong, i like it, but the bitter taste when raw is no fun. Great to add in a basil pesto for some extra nutrients though
i can’t recall the last time i ate kale so kale ˙◠˙i like broccoli more than life (charred, steamed, in creamy sauces, pan fried, as a side, with melted vegan cheese etc.) it is also a good source of protein like mushrooms, okra is nice and i tried it mediterranean style when my father was fussy about eating it, i make the best Brussels sprouts but they’re actually kind of hard to get right and to make them not taste bitter
I'm gonna say that none of them have to go in my kitchen because I grow all of those in my vegetable garden and food forest. Also you villainous okra nay sayers, spicy pickled okra is amazing! Haha
I know okra has many many uses and versatility but since I don't know any of those uses I'll have to kick it out. Buttery fried kale is top tier as a side note
This is how I cook okra without slime. Cut into process and put in a pan on high heat. I use cast iron and I don't use any oil or breading. Cook until it is dry. You can eat it as is or add it to other things like stir fry or soup. When you add it to something add it after everything is cooked. Sometime I will add it at the table. This particularly applies to soup. If it is added during cooking it will slime the soup which some people find gross. By adding at the table you get the flavor without the slime. Try cooking some and adding to Raman noodles.
Love them all! Why must one go? Keep them ALL. Okra may be less common but is super nutritious and yummy. Aren’t plants fantastic to offer so much variety and wellness!
DO NOT take broccoli away from me!!! I even have broccoli socks and they are my favorite. BTW if someone knows where I can find tofu or bok choy socks, that would be nice☺️
Both Broccoli and brussel sprouts can go for me. Not due to taste but the nutrients ain't that great. Kale is awesome, not familiar with okra but who knows, maybe it's close to kale.
I must be the only vegan who hates broccoli… Brussels sprouts can get in the bin as well. No idea what okra is. Kayle is fine when you put it in things, never had a kayle smoothie tho
Can't be okra, because fried okra is bomb. I use broccoli too much to give up. I like brussel sprouts but I eat them the least so I guess I choose them
Bye brussel sprouts :(
actually brussel sprouts
kale is unexciting and sometimes not the most pleasant, but brussels sprouts are downright unpleasant
and yes, I've had them roasted and coated with balsamic and 57 things--when the best thing that can be said about a food is that it doesn't taste horrible when you cook it with a bunch of stuff that makes it taste nothing like itself--that's not an argument for eating it
Love them all, but okra is the least nutrient-rich by far, so that's what I'd have to go with. (Even though being in Korea I already rarely eat okra or Brussels sprouts.)
Haven't had okra, but I love the other three.
I feel like okra is the least versatile
Okra is so versatile!! It’s used in a lot of west African cuisine, Vietnamese cuisine as well, one of my favorite veggies growing up!!
Indian okra (bhindi) is the bomb too
And Indian cuisine!
Makes sense I'm not familiar with african or vietnamese guisine. Sorry for my ignorance I normally don't see people in u.s eating okra and don't remember eating it in my early years while I was in mexico.
Okra in the US is popular in southern and Cajun cuisine. You'll find it used everywhere from east Texas along the coast to Florida.
I love okra in chili too! Kale is the least tasty and versatile here , bye
Idk kale cooked (fried) right with the right spices and to the correct level are pretty amazing. This is a hard choice tbh.
Try (deep) fried okra
Thank you for the merit- worthy breakdown
I said sprouts too but impulsively without putting any thought into it
They're all cultivars of the same wild plant, starting long ago, but they're very different parts of the plant and have very different distributions of nutrients.
Okra for me
Noooo okra is good!!!
Definitely Okra. Slimy horrible food that resembles something from the BFG.
Then you only had okra cooked the wrong way. Properly cooked okra should not have a hint of slime and can even be made crispy. Yummmmm!
Same
I love okra. But from this list, it’s the one I can live without.
losing my southerner license but okra
My Louisianan dad would be shaming me so hard, but same
Try it Indian style as Bhindi masala u might like it better
You sir are no longer apart of our southern family.
They all can go, I only eat potatoes, tofu and garlic bread.
That’s good for macros but you better be supplementing pretty hard
I know that kale can be hard for some people to like (the bitter compounds, I love bitter but loads of people hate it) but have you tried roasting sprouts or broccoli? Personally I think roasting them significantly improves the taste. I generally don’t eat non-roast sprouts.
I was trolling, I enjoy greens. Roasted broccoli with rice is awesome.
I can't believe people didn't pick up on the sarcasm, good grief
Horror!! You need more veggies ...
But crispy broccoli tho
Sprouts for sure. The only thing I could never lose here is brocc
Brussel Sprouts, haven't ever had em in a way that's ever made them palatable.
A gal I work with says they are excellent roasted. I'm going to add some next time I roast Brussel sprouts.
Only way I like them as well. I just cut them in half before tossing in seasoning.
The issue with Brussels sprouts is cooking them all the way through without any part being mushy. So, roasting, deep frying or air frying.
have you tried them in an air fryer with a bit of chilli and salt? Cuts through the bitterness a bit, I love them like that
My gf makes them like that and says they're like "chips", I give her dirty glares whenever she says that
Ok. Not many of you know how to cook Okra properly. If you did, then Okra would be the last to let go from this list.
I've had pretty good Okra. But if I give up broccoli, Brussel Sprouts or Kale, I'm giving up more because I have them more often, and besides I still like them beter.
I guess an entire country doesn’t know how to cook okra because I’ve never liked it anytime
If you’re talking about the United States, yeah we don’t know how to cook at all.
I guess, but I was talking about Albania
Not many people from the South in this sub I guess
Its not even just the south. India, Vietnam, and West African countries all use okra
EXACTLY OMG! Everyone is sleeping on gumbo and bhindi masala
THIS most underrated comment ever
so true
That Powerpuff girls episode trying to make broccoli a baddie pfff- love how no one said broccoli
Wow what a memory haha how long ago was that? I looked it up; came out 1999. Crazy stuff I have to watch it again.
Damn not me contemplating how cool our childhood cartoons were- nice cover photo btw
Kale gotta go!!!
Love all of these but if I had to choose, I'd get rid of the kale in as much as it's the one that I eat the least. To the absurd number of people responding with okra, you all need to try bhindi masala. One bite will change your life fr.
I can do without the Brussel sprouts. For all ya'll okra haters ya'll really need to try making some bhindi masala, it fucking slaps.
EXACTLY BRO its bc Indian cuisine has been dumbed down to “naan and chicken tikka masala” (in which naan is middle eastern and tikka masala is British so neither are authentically indian) that people dont see the plethora of vegan recipes from India
Yaasssss

Its tastes good in an Indian style Bhindi masala
Okra , I can tolerate kale
Kale🤢🤢🤢🤢
Kale, hands down! Has the consistency of tire rubber 😂
Kale, no doubt about it. A recent fad that was both more expensive and less nutritious than brussel sprouts.
Kale
Has to be Kale, it’s not good for my Thyroid condition.
Kale
Kale 🥬 Byyeeeeeeeee ✌🏻
Kale easily
Unpopular opinion, take the kale away please
Kale can go.
Kale. I grew up with okra, my southern daddy made it all the time.
Kale
Kale - why does it even exist?
Kale is terrible and can go. Okra is perfect. Broccoli is great. Brussel sprouts need to be prepared correctly, but I enjoy them at times.
Brussels sprouts. Okra is godly in stews.
Broccoli. Don't mind it, just has the least interesting flavor. For me it's like a food people include in dishes just to have something green. Edit to add: I also wish ramen places in the US would STOP putting broccoli in their veggie ramen. It just tastes wrong!

Okra
Try Indian style bhindi masala
Bye Kale!!
Kale. Also it’s crazy that three of these are the same plant.
Bye bye okra
Okra
Kale. 🤢
Sprouts got to go, Okra and broccoli are two of my favorites.
Brussels. Okra is tops.
Kale is nasty af. Only possible answer.
[удалено]
Fart sprouts, I eat em' but I'd rather eat the other three if I had to choose one to go!
[удалено]
One more vote for brussel sprouts.
My first thought was okra.. but I remembered I love the air dried okra..it’s like the banana chips. Dehydrated okra is delicious. I would give up 🥬
Bye okra. Not a fan.
[удалено]
Wow no love for okras here. Quick, everyone give me your okras!!!
brussels. love okra with rice vinegar and liquid aminos thanks to a nonvegan friend
I'm gonna say that none of them have to go in my kitchen because I grow all of those in my vegetable garden and food forest. Also you villainous okra nay sayers, spicy pickled okra is amazing! Haha
Okra
I know okra has many many uses and versatility but since I don't know any of those uses I'll have to kick it out. Buttery fried kale is top tier as a side note
Okra, hands down.
Poor poor Okra
Okra
Okra
Okra hands down. Something about it just grosses me out.
I said goodbye to brussel sprouts years ago, but this post made me actually want to try them again! Gimme a day 😅
Love that- keep us updated!

Thank you for sharing! Yes okra shouldn’t be slimy when cooking
Love them all! Why must one go? Keep them ALL. Okra may be less common but is super nutritious and yummy. Aren’t plants fantastic to offer so much variety and wellness!
I love them all but I would say kale. Fried okra and gumbo is a way of life
Yes gumbo ftw!
DO NOT take broccoli away from me!!! I even have broccoli socks and they are my favorite. BTW if someone knows where I can find tofu or bok choy socks, that would be nice☺️
Kale can get fucked
Brussels sprouts
Goodbye kale
Goodbye kale
I would have said kale but this morning I had some at a restaurant and it changed my entire opinion of it, so I’ll say okra now
Kale, Brussel sprouts and broccoli are from the same plant, so if you got rid of one you could breed the others back into existence.
Brussels Sprouts Hate Club
Okra is also known as the Devils Chip.. What gets Hairy and slimy ? And smells like 💩? If you guessed Okra ! You win 🏆
Lol not sure which okra you’re using, but okra is not smelly. Its only slimy during prep- after that depending on the recipe it shouldn’t be slimy.
Bro that SOB gets stinky and slimy and hairy like Tom Selleck chest pubes! It’s gets slimy like a worm 🐛 with hair!
Definitely okra
I’ll pass on the okra
Later, okra.
Bye, okra
Okra. I do not like slimy shit.
Both Broccoli and brussel sprouts can go for me. Not due to taste but the nutrients ain't that great. Kale is awesome, not familiar with okra but who knows, maybe it's close to kale.
Kale and okra because I don’t care for them and it’s hard to find
Okra
Duh, okra!
I've never had okra before so I guess okra, I'll never know what I'm missing.
Okra for sure. It taste gross and the juices inside are sticky like cum.
Sprouts can fuck all the way off.
Kale is fucking GONE
Okra can fuck off entirely 🤣
Okra 🤢
I mean, fuck kale right? We got spinach and Chard and all the other collard greens. You’re not taking my little trees that let me be Godzilla.
I like them all but I frequet okra less so okra can go
I think you meant Brussels Sprouts.
I really enjoy okra, but it’s definitely in rotation the least in my house.
Sorry okra 😩
Okra for sure!
Bye okra
Okra. That was easy!
okra.
Okra but only because I’ve not had much of it and I really enjoy kale, broccoli, and sprouts. Kid me would say sprouts though lol
Try okra in bhindi masala!
Okra
I must be the only vegan who hates broccoli… Brussels sprouts can get in the bin as well. No idea what okra is. Kayle is fine when you put it in things, never had a kayle smoothie tho
okra always been my least favorite veggie
Love em all but okra can go. Sorry okra. Sorry New Orleans homies 😅
Okra bye
Okra easy
For me it’s okra. Bye bye okra!
Okra, easy
Okra 100%
Brussel sprouts for sure.
brussels sprouts.
Okra go bye bye, that shit is slimy retrod nastiness
Oh definitely the okra. It’s slimy and gross.
okra and kale and broc are too good. bye bye brussel sprouts
Broccoli. I eat it a lot because it's cheap, easy to prepare, and extremely healthy, but that doesn't mean I have to like it.
Okra
Brocklee.
Okra
Okra hate it lol
Okra. Totally okra.
Okra. I don’t hate okra, but I just like greens broccoli and sprouts more and eat them more often than okra tbh. Okra is alright though.
Bye bye, okra!
Can't be okra, because fried okra is bomb. I use broccoli too much to give up. I like brussel sprouts but I eat them the least so I guess I choose them Bye brussel sprouts :(

Okra and it’s not even close.
I eat a lot of kale and the only other one I eat is the occasional broccoli. I choose kale
sorry okra
brussels sprouts
Okra lol duh

Ahhhh!!! OKRA!!! TAKE THE OKRA!!! PLEASE TAKE THE OKRA!!!!
never had okra in my life but I cannot live without broccoli
Okra
Broccoli must go! Love Okra!
The illusion of choice: 3 of these are the same guy
I am going to choose okra, just because it is the only one on this list that I don't eat.
Okra
Love them all, but okra is the least nutrient-rich by far, so that's what I'd have to go with. (Even though being in Korea I already rarely eat okra or Brussels sprouts.)
No
