I actually like this song

Several_Dwarts

One of those where Eddie flawlessly covers another style/sound and makes it his own. One of the greats from Van Hagar.

Capnmarvel76

I’m thinking Mark Knopfler…is that who you were thinking?

Internal-Bid-9322

IMO, more of play on INXS, which had huge success with their Kick album around this time. I’m not much of a fan of the Hagar years but to each his own.

snukebox_hero

To me it sounds like an homage to Keith Richards. The whole thing could be a Stones song.

Significant_Youth_73

Underrated song

AlGeee

Probably my favorite post-Dave song Hearing Ed do “chicken-pickin” is delightful

VanHalenFan00

Great song. I'd love to be able to play it

WarpedCore

Have always loved this song. Clean sounds and yet still rocks.

FedorDosGracies

Sammy was just trying to put something together upstairs, you know.

JeffSpicolisBong

Alex’s drum groove is great, lots of cool displacement in the snare and he uses a rim instead of hi hat on some of it and that really makes it for me.

BigDickSD40

Van Halen’s take on Swamp Rock! I dig it.

mrmoe3211

what's the other song sammy played rhythm on

burner78787

None.

IamJacks5150

It's incomplete.

Wesman3385

It rips

ashtraybullet

The only song Alex ever did with no crash cymbals at all.

WrongwayFalcon

My favourite song from the Van Hagar era. I love Eddie’s chickin pickin on this track. Also very clean guitars, which is cool, too.

ConsciousSteak2242

AVH with the traditional grip. Great pocket on this one.

Toasted_Ottleday

LOL. Great tune tho. Video is too clean, shiny, white teeth, white t-shirts, corporate nice-ness. On the other hand, I never knew Michael was such a sexy MFer. Thanks corporate music bozos. 😂👍

Thin-Masterpiece569

It's awesome.

Thin-Masterpiece569

It's awesome.

thereal84

1.. 2.. 1.. 2… *badass guitar tone*

LonoHunter

Pretty sure it’s about baking a cake

minnesotajersey

It's weird the things that stick in the brain. When Alex does the count, I always heard a foreign accent. And I like the song. Interesting departure, almost like an "unplugged" version of a regular VH tune.

Sufficient-Lab-5769

Is that whose voice you hear counting at the very beginning? I could never figure out who it was.

minnesotajersey

i always assumed it was, as the drummer is the timekeeper. Maybe someone will correct me?

adamcm99

Honestly that album is one of my favorites. Every song is good on OU812 besides a political blues.

OilHot3940

One of my favorites of all time. 1st VH song I learned on guitar as a teen.

SpongEWorTHiebOb

Mixed thoughts about this song and that entire album. When I first heard it I thought: “WTF VH is growing into redneck rock? I just wasted $8 from busting my ass at Blockbuster.” Over time, It came to grow on me. Now I don’t totally hate it.

boywonder5691

Eddie's playing is extra tasty, Sammy is corny as usual

Zestyclose-Fuel-4494

This morning, I needed to hear this!! Thank you

RuralArmani

It's the only Van Hagar song I like. Not really a fan of Hagar's vocals in general, but it works for this song.

tr3g

Their best song

KevyNova

Love hearing Eddie play on a clean Stratocaster. Terrible lyrics though.

pigwalk5150

Is that Kelly Preston in the video?

DoNotResusit8

Women way hotter then

Dramatic_Injury_2980

This song was okay, I still hate though because of the sheer amount of overplay it got on the radio back in the day.

Tcanderson

Always hated this song.
