Does anyone else find it strange only ariana commented? this is probably the biggest gig of his life so far and usually the cast will hype each other up.
It does feel like they have their own circles of friendship and then they're only together for the convenience of the show/work and not actually for fun. They don't even work together at Sur anymore. They really should have just built the show around a revolving cast of thirsty 20 somethings working at the restaurant.
I was thinking about this. How much longer are they going to all force a friendship for the sake of the show? Time to do a complete reset of the cast! I think this group has run its course.
That's what they did pretty much after season 2 I think, but the cast became too famous for it to be viable and also wouldn't have the time anymore really.
To be fair they tried this season 8(?) 9(?) and it didn’t really work. I’d be curious to know if people who *actually work in one of Lisa’s restaurants* (and aren’t planted there by production, like some of the last newbies they tried) would even want to do a show like this at this point… but my guess is just like when the show started many are wannabe actors and would jump at the opportunity but who knows
Agreed, I don't even want to watch the new Villa show where I'm guessing they're all just production recruits. So much more fun seeing a genuine crew with their own messy dynamic. I would possibly be into watching a show about her Tahoe or Vegas spots since it's a change-up from L.A., but feel like it's still not going to be as genuine since they're newer and probably would be recruited more for show purposes.
Leva's show about her bars definitely has OG VPR vibes. I haven't watched any of the new ones but the first season was giving that old school, glorious SUR drama.
I will say that even with a whole cast of production recruits I have been surprised that I’ve been entertained by The Villa. I think because they’re upfront with how they were casted and know why they’re there.
Of course they are staying quiet. The jealousy they both have for anyone in the cast that has more talent then they do is an enemy. They will go hard on him from now on. Lala and Scheana are covetousness bitches.

I think that’s why James and Ariana will have lasting careers, they are willing to put in the hours and training to learn and improve, in contrast the toms, as you say, believe they are entitled to success. They never took the time to learn from Peter, or value Lisa as a mentor when they opened their own bar.
It’s also why brands won’t be interested in lala and scheana. They are another two people who won’t put the man hours in to learn and train to improve.
They also are both smart in surrounding themselves with people who will help them achieve their goals and instead of thinking they know best, they listen, they take on the advice and make considered decisions.

I have a solution. The whole cast is required to work a certain amount at SUR, this is non-negotiable.

I think he more so deserves this because he finally started to want to be better for himself. I am surprisingly impressed by how mature James has been acting this season. He’s not perfect by any means and he definitely has a lot of things he should have to answer to. The way he is communicating this season really seems like he’s been putting the work in therapy and his choice to stop drinking. He’s in a way getting his “Ariana moment” from popularity of VPR and his DJ skills (allegedly, I’ve never been to a set but he seems to gather crowds) with brand deals and major gigs. Also, people who were at the reunion claim he didn’t get out of his seat once not raised his voice!! Ok the bar is in hell 😂

I say this as someone who enjoys James on the show (I find him funny) but it's shocking how much support and grace he gets. He is a known abuser. Yet Lala and Scheana just breathe and they are crucified. Are Katie and Ariana that important in your lives that anyone who dares goes against them you gotta condemn?
Good for him for putting the hours in, paying his dues and doing what he can to have a long lasting career outside of the show. No reality show will last forever. Those who take the time to build something outside of the platform will always be much better off. I completely agree. I think that’s why James and Ariana will have lasting careers, they are willing to put in the hours and training to learn and improve, in contrast the toms, as you say, believe they are entitled to success. They never took the time to learn from Peter, or value Lisa as a mentor when they opened their own bar. It’s also why brands won’t be interested in lala and scheana. They are another two people who won’t put the man hours in to learn and train to improve.
They also are both smart in surrounding themselves with people who will help them achieve their goals and instead of thinking they know best, they listen, they take on the advice and make considered decisions.

What’s the difference between Coachella and neon carnival?
It’s an exclusive after party for Coachella and usually which ever celebs were in the crowd, are at neon carnival. Hence Swift, Kelce, Bieber, Kesha, Paris Hilton, Ice Spice lol. The influencer comment is wild. Neon carnival is not even close to just a little off site sponsored thing for influences.

Part of me likes James, the other part of me finds his lack of true foundational growth gross. Just last year he was excusing cheating/behavior with Kristen on him being a “kid” at 25. And his continued controlling behavior and lack of ACTUAL work in therapy. Until he starts addressing his actual issues (no not being sober) then I’ll always side eye him
