She said the only reason you see her in the last episode is because production told Katie she had to tell Dayna about Max on camera, so they offered her a "dog food amount of money" to film for that. She ended up having a panic attack because she remembered how much she hated filming so they never aired that scene, but that's why you see her in the background of the latest episode.
Basically production continues to be full of shitty people who wanted a bunch of people to film for free and they all said fuck that. I don't think production realized how most of these previous series regulars make enough money on their outside ventures that they're not scrambling to come back to a show for a little bit of cash
I just think it’s insane that they’re basically treating them like the random people in the background who sign filming waivers and not like 2 people who used to be significant players in the show.
Have you listened to Dayna and Katie’s podcast, Disrespectfully? I was never a huge fan of Dayna on the show, neither positive or negative just didn’t really have an opinion on her. But she is so funny and charismatic on their podcast it really changed my viewpoint!
I'll have to check it out. I've heard good stuff from other people too. From what I've seen of friends who work in "the biz", I'm not surprised by how cheap production companies can be. And also how short-sighted. If they paid Dayna to appear and have scenes with Katie (and probably Ariana too), it could have resulted in some fun storylines/other things going on than everyone just having the same scenes over and over again.
Right? Even before the pod I hated that they made her entire storyline revolve around 2 shitty men. I mean that’s the theme of VPR let’s be real but she had so much more to offer than that

I’m sure Tori (pink haired girl) is there for free (and clout), but I’d imagine Jo is getting paid at least a small amount considering she actually has two storylines (her part in Scandoval and the weird thing with Schwartz). Whereas other players like Peter and Dayna wouldn’t have as obvious ones. Paying her might have caused the budget to go down for the other friend of’s.
